This looks like fun. I also notice that no one is a Sentinel, so I think I'll roll one.

  • Name: Giuseppe Wong (Nicknames from least to most informal: Joe, G, Peppy)
  • Race: Human (male, in case it wasn't clear)
  • Age: 25 Solar years
  • Class: Sentinel
  • Class Abilities: Tech Armor, Overload, AI Hacking, Throw
  • Weapons: SMG (M-9 Tempest), Pistol (M-3 Predator)
  • Appearance: Tall male with extremely tan-looking skin and black hair in a buzz-cut. Wears light Colossus armor on the ground; casual clothing is just the stereotypical black-and-white skintight T-shirt that so many people are fond of.
  • Backstory: One of the countless children raised in an orphanage on Earth in one of the many slums, he managed to get out by allowing the Alliance to Guinea-pig him in their biotic programs. He got into space by excelling at electronics and worked aboard a ship for a few years, mainly working on the ship's power control systems and drive core. He eventually became a freelancer, mainly just doing odds and ends around the Citadel.
  • Personality (Optional): Paragon but also practical, unless you hurt a kid near him. Joker, and a bit of a nerd who plays "Galaxy of Fantasy" (but even he finds those Hanar games they sell in Shin Akiba creepy). Slightly gullible and pretty hyper. He's not prone to violence; he's not a pacifist, and isn't scared of combat, but he would rather try to solve things with his wits than with weaponry. In addition, while he's able to respect and/or interact with individual aliens, he's a bit distrustful of alien species as a whole due to the anti-Turian propaganda that played when he was a kid.
  • Personal Power: His unlockable power is Bulwark. This lets him summon a large circular biotic barrier, but it's immobile so it's pretty much stuck wherever he places it. It's about the size of a doorway in Mass Effect, and blocks things in both directions. This is basically just the hexagonal shield the Geth have in the first game, but biotically enhanced and less... roboty.
  • Miscellaneous: Nada.

This kosher?

Guys, you know what'd be cool? A krogan engineer.

[lol] LSDrell, good times.

[up]And we need a krogan in general. It would be cool but for some reason we never have one. But we have a batarian! Two of them!

Guyse, I am excite.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Very interested, but I have a question or two first.

  • A turian biotic: The games themselves have never shown one, but the Mass Effect wiki claims that they do exist. Could I use one?
  • Vanguards got the Charge ability in the second game, could my character use a toned down version that acts as a simple teleport?

But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

[up][up] Me too.

The cool thing about a krogan engineer would be that it's somewhat unexpected; what'll make it work even better would be adding a quarian soldier... but yeah, a krogan in general would be cool.

[up]

1) Turian biotics exist, and there's one (firebert's Dr. Marik Kring) already on the rosters who is an adept, so feel free to make one. 2) I think the full-powered Charge ability is allowed; after all, there's already a character who uses it (slashedtire's Deimos Braxis).

A turian vanguard would make a nice addition to the team.

[up] Yeah, someone Playing Against Type. That'd be cool.

Turian biotics are definitely canon, but it's weird: I can't ever recall seeing one now that you mention it.

Vanguards are awesome. Sentinels and Infiltrators too. I really like the combo classes.

I feel the same way.

On the other hand, in terms of sensible personnel management, I think we need more engineers and sentinels, so that we don't get short-handed on technical expertise onboard the ships.

Still, play what you feel like.

Saren's the only turian biotic we've seen so far in-game, which is part of what compelled me to create Marik. So feel free to try it out! And I've noticed that we never have enough Techs, mostly just crazy Biotics and shooters.

Aggh, completely forgot about Saren.

Well, we have more tech types than last time, I believe.

[up][up] One tech expert per ship is still a bit few, IMO.

I would play one, but I've only ever played infiltrator and soldier, so I'm sticking to what I know for the moment; I'm new to the RP scene, after all.

I see no problem with your character, N-Man. Let me know when you think of a better personal power. If you could also explain the current idea a bit more, that'd be helpful.

  • Name: Aelius Aquile
  • Race: Turian
  • Age: Mid-Thirties
  • Class: Vanguard
  • Class Abilities: Charge, Barrier, 3 Flashbangs, Pull
  • Weapons: M-3 Predator (Heavy Pistol); M-12 Locust (SMG); Omni-Blade (Left Hand)
  • Appearance: Has pitch black eyes, scales with a light brown pigmentation, and sports dark red facial tattoos.
  • Backstory: Aelius is a Turian biotic and as such has spent much of his military career in various specialist teams. After an extended tour of duty, he resigned and looked for a more lucrative career as a mercenary. And found it he did as a recruit for the Ozymandias mercenaries.
  • Personality: Quiet and reserved, Aelius is a rather odd variation on the stereotypical Turian soldier. He doesn't hesitate to follow orders to the letter, yet will question them every step of the way if he thinks they're particular stupid or ignorant. He has an utter disregard for the sanctity of life, but would stand by his comrades until death. And most of all, although he constantly laces what little dialogue he provides with some of the most powerful snark imaginable, he simply refuses to ever tell a lie.
  • Personal Power: UberCharge - A variation of Charge that causes a strong wave of force to ripple out in between the starting and ending point of the teleport

Edit the powers around a bit: There is no such thing as Quantum Jump, and you need 2 more. Other than that, everything looks good.

Is 'Quantum Leap' some kind of funny nickname for 'Charge'?
