I have conclusive proof that the flow of time in the new universe is broken. Our first piece of evidence is supergirl #1. After she gains her super powers when the sun rises, her super hearing kicks in, and she hears 3 voices- one of the birds of prey, nightwing's opponent and aqua man, implying that all 4 comics take place at once. Now, nightwing and BoP take place at Gotham at night, but it's in the middle of a thunderstorm in BoP, but the storm has yet to start in NW. Also, it looks to be early moring in BoP, but late evening in NW. Now assuming that Gotham is in it's semi traditional place in/near new york, that implies that aquaman, which takes place in nearby Boston, should take place at night too, but instead takes place at around noon. So for it to be night in Gotham and day in Boston, then Gotham (if I remember how timezones work- I might be wrong, since I'm a little drunk) would have to be in eastern Europe- except, in supergirl, the sun has just risen in Russia.

What do you make of that!

Of couse, supergirl might just have the ability to hear what's been said/going to be said, but that's just too weird.

Alternitvly, it's just bad writing.

Bah, I will not let your feeble pseudo science handwave away my brilliant insight into the nature of the dc universe!

Timey-Wimey Ball is just one of a number of euphemisms for "bad writing".

I sincerely doubt that the writers of the different comics kept each other posted about every minor detail.

Actually CA made a post about this and how it all made sense. She landed in Siberia which has a stupid crazy number of time zones, and we can see the storm in Gotham over several courses, add that to the sunset in the Boston we see in Aquaman and it all flows together. Nice touch.

Here's the quote from CA doing what it should be doing.

Supergirl: With her new-found super-hearing, Supergirl's overwhelmed by deafening random noises and sounds from around the globe (bottom of page 14) including quotes we've seen spoken in Nightwing, Aquaman, and Birds of Prey. Nightwing is set in Gotham under night-dark skies, and there's storm lightning in the sky. Aquaman is in a Boston seafood restaurant at sunset. It's a rainy night in Gotham City when Starling quips about being damned in Birds of Prey. It's dawn in Russia, as the rising sun fuels Kara's superpowers. That scene in Gotham City (long set in DC history as located on the East Coast) can't be pure night at the same time it's sunset in Boston, but it could be a very dark dusk exaggerated by the pouring rain on the Birds of Prey's side of town and the fast-approaching storm around Nightwing. If this is the case, then whether by intent or design, this timing is all absolutely accurate. Many timezones encompass Siberia including twelve hours after East Coast time. In other words, dusk on the US's east coast equals dawn in parts of Siberia. That's the kind of cool synchronicity that makes me love shared-universe fiction, whether the creators planned this or not. (And oh, yes, the Red-Hooded Woman is there, too.)

Has it occurred to anyone that she could just be hearing things a while after they occur? It's not like sound travels at the speed of light, there'd be a lot of lag time.
