"The Singaporean." Vera said. "Maybe I could converse with her in my native tongue." she said.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Oh, there you are, Shizuko," Kyubey said, coming back around the streetlight. "I lost you there for a minute! Did you want to talk to me?"
"Was there something you wanted, Alicia?" Kyubey asked, coming out from under William's bed. "Have you given any more thought to your wish? I'm not allowed to make suggestions, sorry!"

It's been fun."From New York." she said. "I was actually singing a broadway song a while ago."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Ah-"
Alicia promptly stifled her surprised gasp before it had the chance to startle her father; William's response was to roll over to the other side of his bed, snoozing peacefully and being completely oblivious to the little white thing near him. Quietly, Alicia got out of her bed, tiptoed over to Kyubey, grabbed him by the neck gently, and carried him off to the bathroom before putting him back down. She couldn't risk being discovered, after all.
"Geez, you surprised me, popping out of nowhere like that," Alicia thought. Where did he come from, anyways? "Anyways, I haven't quite thought of a wish yet, but umm... would you happen know a girl named Hateshinai Rei, by any chance? She's a friend of mine here in Japan, but I haven't seen her in a long time, and well... I'm kind of worried about her, so...." She wasn't entirely sure where she was going with this, now that she gave it a bit more thought: Rei was just one among millions of girls in Japan. Why would Kyubey know about her instead of some other random girl? A slight hint of embarrassment developed in Alicia's head as her thoughts trailed off to some other place.

That is all she needed. That is all... Her dreams of seeing the world have become her strength, and lifts her wings."They're here for many reasons," Kyubey replied to Shizuko's question, entirely truthfully and ridiculously unhelpfully. "They're all here to fight for the safety of Kyoen City, though, so you should try to get along with them!"
Mid, when did Rei contract, by the way?

It's been fun." Broadway's always been a fasicination of mine." Vera said. "America's musical center." she said. "Greetings. Ciel."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

Since Alicia won't be interacting with anyone except Kyubey (who can appear everywhere anyways) until at least next in-game morning, she'll be skipping forward a couple hours. This does not affect anyone else's interaction. These are not the Puella Magi you are looking for.
—-Later that night—-
Alicia stared blankly into the darkness, unable to sleep.
She had taken a nice, relaxing bath after returning to the safety of her hotel room, changed into a warm set of pajamas, and finished off the chapter of the maths textbook she was reading before being ushered to bed by her father - William himself was already snoozing peacefully on the bed on the other side of the room - but that was a good hour ago, and she was no closer to sleep now than she was then.
A wish, huh....
She had spent that hour replaying this evening's events in her head: the Demon's assault (she still shuddered at the memory of the thing invading her mind with death wishes), the unexpected rescue, the revelation that magic exists in this world, and—
If I make a wish and sign a contract, then I can be a Magical Girl too....
She loved adventure. She loved the excitement of exploration and discovery, the thrill of danger, and the romance of travel, and being a Magical Girl could give her all that and more. There was no doubt in her mind that she would become one, now that the chance was offered to her; now, the only remaining issue was—
... but what kind of wish am I going to make?
The 'freedom of creativity' paradox. As an aspiring writer, Alicia knew that paradox very well: the more freedom the human mind has to create something, the less it is actually able to create. She had the freedom to make any wish in the world now, but just as she thought, nothing came to her head - or, rather, many things came to her head, but she couldn't decide on just one. A wish was a tool capable of achieving miracles beyond the reach of human hands, after all, and she only had one shot at it. Should she wish for writing ability and achieve her dream of becoming a world-famous author, or should she trust her own talent and think of something else? Perhaps she should wish for power, so she could explore the most dangerous parts of the planet without fearing for her life. A wish for eternal life would allow her to one day travel to the far reaches of the universe. Or—
Or maybe I should use my wish for someone else?
Hateshinai Rei: the secondary reason for Alicia's visit to Japan. The elder girl was quiet and awkward, preferring to keep to herself instead of socializing, but Alicia knew from experience that she was really just an ordinary girl at heart; sure, their first meeting was a bit rocky, but they got along in the end. So why did she suddenly disappear? It had been a full year since Rei stopped logging into her messenger account, and calling her old residence proved futile, so where did she go?
I wonder... would he know about her?
Quietly, she began thinking about Kyubey, hoping for him to appear.
