If she is, I bet you can find her here or in Yack Fest.

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuI took a special ed class in elementary school because my mom noticed I had trouble expressing myself, and the side classes were very personal, helpful, and didn't make me feel like I was "catching up" with my classmates. I wish older people would realize they need that kind of special education too. I can see this girl attending those.
Certainly closer to SAD than autism
(I want to punch everyone on the internet who tries to diagnose fictional characters with autism. If you're going to play armchair psychologist with fictional characters, do it right. And by right, I mean write a ten page case formulation and treatment plan according to APA formatting.)
If people were required to do psych papers about anime characters if they wanted to do any psychoanalysis, every single character would end up being taken at complete face value. At least, that's certainly what I would do, because I'm a lazy motherfucker.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
Well, I'd only require it for autism, really, because I want to punch everyone who goes, "That character is socially awkward. THEY MUST HAVE AUTISM!" in the face.
You know Wikipedia is not always your friend? That's especially the case with psych diagnostics.
(Also, it wouldn't be psychoanalysis. Freud's basically a joke in the psychological world. Also, case formulation is fun. I did one on Barnaby Brooks Jr. for a clinical psych project I turned in today, and that fucker's almost as screwed up as I am.)

Welp, I think that's probably enough to make Tomoko Ambiguously Gay.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. While I might be missing the point here but. Why is the protagonist so obsessed about being popular and talking to guys?
"If there is a hole then it's a man's job to thrust into it" - Ryoma from New Getter RoboI wonder how many people got bad memories of "Okay lets partner up!" "Oh, Crap!" from this chapter.
"So is this a real life look at how otaku would be like in real life? Too bad its a girl, because I find it hard otaku girls would have absolutely no friends."
Except, you just described ME. I have NO friends, my friend. Girls get social anxiety disorder and can be outcasts too. Why does everyone think this disorder restricted to just men?
Although I do have to complement your optimistic idea that it's possible for all loners everywhere to suddenly become socially adjusted by just befriending each other. If only real life worked that way.

Well there are no doubt Otaku who don't look that bad (plus lets not forget unless they are Gonk anime/manga tends to make things more cuter by default) but just have terrible social skills.

Second WMG.
She is One Of Us. Literally.
Now to figure out which one.
