Halo Reach now free on Xbox Live Gold.
Still get misty seeing "There Will Be Another Day..."
Rumor: Infinite's release to be split: single-player next year, multiplayer in 2020.
Looks like old Halo.
Doesn't feel like we're in a time where people get excited by old Halo anymore.
The days where exotic, theatrical, well-made sci-fi shooters were far in between are gone - Titanfall, Anthem, Fallout, Prey, Call of Duty for crying out loud - so I don't know if I can get excited about a couple of landscapes and a glimpse of Chief's helmet anymore.
The name "Halo Infinite" sounds like the title of a compilation rather than a sequel.
But, hey, at least Halo's still chugging along.
Now THAT is how you make a reveal trailer!
Also, r/halo is undergoing critical Squee! as there is so much absolute unrefined JOY over that.
"There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?"
Wonder just how populated the multiplayer servers of each game will be? Probably not X-Box Live golden days with 3 and Reach, but something tells me there'll be a silver age of Halo Online Multiplayer real soon.
Hooy boy... if they price that sucker at $25-$30 USD, that's a day one purchase for me!
Back when I was little, I played Halo once in a while when I went to my cousin's place since he had an XBOX. I never got further than the second level because we never stayed there long enough to get any further.
So this does make me happy.
My friend is making me get the collection so we can play co-op Reach on Legendary. Even though I barely know anything about Halo.
Hopefully we'll stream it to share our suffering with the world.
Iíve only just gotten into the series. I only have an og xbox so 1 and 2 are the only games I have
It pleases my grizzled old veteran heart to see so many new people going to be coming to the world of Halo. Problems with the way the games mechanically play aside, and no matter what one thinks of the way it's been handled, the world and the lore have always been fantastic, and they're what I care about far more than the multiplayer.
Iíve beat Halo 1 a while ago and aside from the Library (I hear that you get to kill that fucking orb in 3 Iím looking forward to it) its still a fantastic game. Unfortunately the original xbox no longer supports live and the game doesnít have bots so the multiplayer is unavailable to me. Iíve heard of unofficial servers though so maybe Iíll give that a try
Oh and MCC is coming to steam. Iíve heard all about how this was a disaster at launch. Have they fixed it yet?

Kinda. It took awhile but 343 eventually started giving some decent patches to the game, so its no longer such a hot mess as it was upon release. Problem was, they waited too long, so most of the community had already abandoned the game.
Guess they think starting over again with the PC gaming community would be the wiser choice - can't blame them, folks have been wanting to see Halo on the PC again for a loooong time.
