"But if nobody can recognize us, then there's no reason to kill anyone in the first place.", I countered. It may have not been the best reasoning in the world, but I knew already that I could never bring myself to murdering another human being. "More to the point, I think that Liz means that, although we can't be recognized, we can still be identified. Think about it: You, In human form, learn something about the Yeerks. The very next day, the Yeerks are attacked. Don't you think they'll start adding two and two together at some point? ...And yes, I realize that this is a bit of a weird example, but you get what I mean."

"Yeah, but I'm having trouble thinking of an animal better for observing at a hospital than a human. You'ld probably be surprised how much information I have that I technically don't and I'm not trying to gather it." I put air quotes around the 'don't' as I spoke it to suggest what I meant by it. Predicting a response from either Alex or Jamie about it, I added, "If it turns out to be necessary, I'll contribute the information. Otherwise, it can stay with me. I don't think they'll connect it quickly, but figuring out where information is coming from might not be too difficult. And from there, figuring out who's been there recently that isn't there every day isn't too hard. Or worse, they decide to step up taking that position and our information gets the whole hospital converted."

"Wait a minute... I have an idea", I started, turning to Liz. "Would it be possible to accquire someone who's supposed to work in the hospital in the first place? If he or she is supposed to be there, then it will be less likely for them to stand out, right? Sure, it's not quite as stealthy as some insects can be, but at least we won't get squashed on sight, nor will we be chased out of any of the more high-security areas."

"That is a good plan" I agreed. "But we'll need to make sure the original doesn't interrupt us when we're in disguise"

"Well..." I said, considering the plan of action we'd been presented. "I can see a few problems, but could always check in on a day they're sick, by intercepting their call to the hospital..." I was thinking out loud, mostly because my thoughts were going a mile a minute.

"There may be other kinks in the plan," I continued, "But I won't work on those unless we're all one hundred percent in on the plan."

I gave Ryan's plan some thought while the others spoke. "Well, it's better than having one of us go in. I don't like the risk if we're noticed, though. I mean, if we're caught, at least we know the risk involved. But this could easily put someone at risk that is completely innocent and uninvolved. Unless we're going to take a controller or find a volunteer."

After a pause to catch my breath, I answered Jamie. "Well, I think that the hospital would be a bit less risk but higher chance of getting people involved that weren't. The police station would be a better chance to not include innocents, plus they have a much higher danger they accept anyway, but I think the risk of doing it is higher. Like, to the point where we probably want to have a single, simple goal and it be an in and out mission before going with it. So, if we can't think of a better plan and can minimize the danger to others and ourselves, I'd say I'm in."

"With that in mind I will also continue my investigation into the police, unwise to ignore a potential lead simply because it's difficult. Also- Wait no, forget it."

I nodded. We had a game plan. Now it was time for detail work.

"I have to agree with Liz. The police station is the safer choice," I said, "Until we can find safer recon methods," I started pacing again, "Now, we need to get morphs. I know Alex has one already, but we'll need more than that," I gestured to the building behind me, "Which is why I brought you guys here," I held up the key to the pet shop, smiling a little. Before they could respond, I worked my around to the front of the shop.

For those curious, Kyle doesn't open the shop at the normal time on Saturdays. Well, Saturday's clerk doesn't. He doesn't go to the shop on weekends; he hires other clerks to do that. The one for today doesn't like to get up early, and is probably going to be fired when he's found out. Oh well. It meant we had the store to our selves.

Luna and Neo, I'd like to ask you two to write a little more than that from now on. >.<

I followed Jamie inside the shop. It wasn't the first time I got here; I like to play with and care for the animals. It was - logically - the first time I ever got here to do something like this though... Am I really going to do this? Go on a planned assault? Can I actually hurt someone on purpose when it comes to it? On the other hand, if I do nothing I'm to blame too, since I could've stopped it but chose to do nothing...
I shook my head and tried to focus on the task at hand. Now, what can we actually use... I started to think out loud. "Hmm... First things first, we need something to get around fast, and something to get around unseen. For the city, that will likely mean something like a pigeon or crow. Rats and mice are loathed too much, causing unneccesary uproars. Insects are good for getting into buildings, but that's it. Hmm..."
Seeing that I already had a cat morph, I headed for the bird section first. I looked around to see if there was anything that would actually blend in to the city...

What kind of birds are there at the pet shop?

One parrot, a few parakeets, a few lovebirds, a canary or two, and a cackatiel. Also, you don't need to strictly follow your "morph" guidelines; those were just to give you an idea of what animals your character would focus on. We'll get the battle morphs after the "infiltration" morphs, though I get the feeling that, with our team as it is, we may use the latter more often...

When I walked into the store, I realized that I hadn't gotten the morph from Pollux. No matter. I was more concerned with the smell. I immediately headed to the counter, lighting a match and using it to light the candle on the desk. Better, but not perfect. Then I could focus on finding animals to morph.

I started petting one of the cats up for sale when I realized I didn't know what to do. I turned behind me, "How's this work, anyway?"

"Simple" I said. "You just need to concentrate on the animal, your body will do the rest. I mean, if I can concentrate enough then you three shouldn't have any trouble"

"However, I'm thinking that a petstore might not be the best place to acquire infiltration morphs. They may be small, but most pet animals are bred to look as pretty as possible, which helps attract buyers but is a detriment if your trying to look inconspicuous."

I walked over to the nearest animal (a brown and white puppy) and began to acquire.

I walked through the store at random, even though I mostly knew where each animal's cage was. The more I looked around though, the more obvious the problem became. Parrots, parakeets, fullblood dogs and cats... All of them were bound to stick out like a sore thumb. Still, they would have to do for now, though we'd needed something less blatatantly obvious than what was here. After acquiring one of the mice (And just about every other cat, due to my love of all felines playing up) , I decided to bring this topic up. "Uhm... We might want to find a bird that's not neon-colored and won't tire of flying in five minutes. Something like a dove or raven or whatever, anything that actually fits in the city." I walked over to the bird section again and picked up a small bag of bird food. "Okay, how about we head to the park after we're done?" The birds over there are almost completely domesticated anyways."

"Yes, because being domesticated makes SUCH a difference" I said holding up my left index finger, which was now littered in peck marks.

Even if I didn't like it, I took Alex's advice. I started with a cat; it was one that was always trying to escape the cage it was in. It almost succeeded a few times, too, which is why I knew he would make a good choice. It seemed to space out while I concentrated. The thing just dropped, completely limp. Then, after a few moments, it jumped back up and ran to the other side of the cage to play with the other cats.

"There's a pigeon's nest in the gutter out back," I said matter-of-factly to Ryan, "Kyle's never taken care of it. It should still be there." I moved over to the dogs. The golden retriever could make a convincing stray. Maybe. I repeated the previous concentration technique, receiving almost exactly the same response.

Silence fell on the room as we all moved around the shop. I began aquiring every animal I could find, waste not want not.

But after awhile the silences became unnerving. Stretching on for hours as everyone went through the motions almost as if they were on auto pilot

"Why is it so quiet all of a sudden?" I wandered, right before a lampshade exploded.
