So, I know I can't be the only one this happens to. Sometimes I'll listen to a certain artist or a certain album while doing something and then the two will permanently become associated in my mind. For instance, I first listened to Visitation by Division Day while reading Hanna Is Not A Boys Name and I first heard Jed Whedon's History of Forgotten Things while reading Blackest Night. Now, whenever I think of one of those works I'm instantly reminded of the other. So tropers, what are your associations?

Metallica's ...And Justice For All with Ocarina Of Time, oddly. Because I got them at the same time, I guess.

no one will notice that I changed this

Reign In Blood and Katamari Damacy... Because a few years ago I decided to do an experiment with Soundtrack Dissonance. Rolling people into a katamari with "Angel Of Death" in the background is pretty hilarious - for best effect I recommend going into audio settings and turning the music all the way down but leaving the sound effects at the regular volume.

Curtain Call will forever be linked to San Andreas as it was the only CD I had ripped to my Xbox back then.

Orange Crush with Crono Trigger, 'cause I did my entire first playthrough with that song on loop.

A Tribute to Jack Johnson and improvised story-telling.

You had to be there, really.

Also, Lightning Bolt and freeform interpretative dance.

[up]Those sound like they go together, actually.

I thought of another one of mine: Diablo Swing Orchestra's Butcher's Ballroom and road trippin'.

I tend to do this quite a lot, but here are the two dominant ones.

Beavis And Butthead and Alice In Chains: I got into both around the same time, both were staples of the 90s, acted as gateways to other music, started to make appearances again about a decade in doing shows, and 14 years after their last material, they make a full comeback and people are pleased that the writing hasn't changed one bit.

Animaniacs and Death: Again, I also got into both around the same time, both were considered some of the best of their kind (cartoons and prog/death metal), one of the Animaniacs comics had them going the trio going to a KISS concert, while Chuck's favourite band was KISS, both had their last material in 1998 (with Nov 14 being one of the last Death dates and the last episode of Animaniacs) making a final comeback in 1999 (Fragile Art of Existence and Wakkos Wish coming out 3 weeks apart) with one of their most influential members dying in 2001 (Richard Stone and Chuck Schuldiner)

After hearing about The Dark Side of the Rainbow (which I haven't actually tried yet), I synced Band on the Run up with Hocus Pocus. It actually worked really well, but now the two are forever linked in my mind.

"Virus Alert" by Weird Al is forever associated with this one soccer team management browser game called Xpert Eleven.

Not because the game have me viruses or anything like that. I just was into Weird Al when I was playing it.

I guess it is.
