"The Right Man in the Wrong Place can make all the difference in the world.

-G-Man, Half Life

IN the far, far, future, Duel Monsters are still as prominent as they had been in the old age, a sport, a game to pass the time with some. And of course, as history tends to repeat itself, a means to bring a darkness onto the world no one can imagine.

Of course, it helps if a couple of teens are in the area to stop him. As it always is.

Welcome to the future of Yu-Gi-Oh! UA Or United Alliance, for short. This takes place in the future of Domino, well past the future of Zexal. All is well in the world, crime and war are all but gone and people are living in peace. However, as always, there's one bastard who will end up mucking it up for everyone. Around the world, strange bursts of energy are knocking out power for major metropolitan cities around the world. However, with these bursts they seem to leave something behind, something...dark and evil...

Of course, Domino happens to be one of these major cities. And what better place for help to come from than Domino itself?

But wait! You may cry to the heavens. There are dozens of other Yu-Gi-Oh! Related Role Plays, including Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Academy: Second Year! Why would we waste time with YOURS?

Well, thanks for those hurtful words and I will agree! From what i've seen, there's nothing unique. HOWEVER! (To my knowledge anyway), I'm willing to give the people who join this RP a special gift: If your character is a duel, he/She can use Custom Cards of yours or someone elses creation! Do Archetypes of this age just not do it for you anymore? Well then make your own! Just be sure to send it to me first, Via PM, so I can approve of them! Not to mention, everyone in the RP will have a vital point to the plot! No worries on losing track of anyone!

Rules!

  • Try to keep your guy out of the Canon characters Gene Pool
  • NO GOD MODDING.
  • While you're dueling, try to be descriptive with the cards you use. Also, similar to Duel Academy Second Year, I'll PM you your hand and what you draw.

Now then, the Skeleton shall look like this:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Appearance
  • Personality
  • History:
  • Deck:
  • Deck List
  • And for shits and giggles: What is your role in the anime? The Yugi, the Kaiba, The Jounuchi, the Mai...so on and so forth.

  • Name: Daisuke Urihire
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: As with the other protagonists, his hair is rather ridiculous, spiky and multicolored. The most prominent colors being blue and red. His attire consisting of a simple green vest, over a black t-shirt. His eyes bright green and hidden behind a pair of glasses, and his pants being simple blue jeans.
  • Personality: He's a kind hearted person but VERY thick. He loves his friends and family and will do anything to help them, but his attention span is a bit on the low side, and he gets in far over his head when pushed. He duels, not for the sake of being "the best" or "the king", but as a means of fun. He will join the tournament every now and again, of course...
  • History: His history is as copy and paste as one could get. A mother and a father, an annoying older sibling who makes it his point to annoy him to no end. He goes to school like any kid, and he has friends of course. There's nothing special about him at all, except for when that one fateful day would come...
  • Deck: Gem-Knights, Monsters focused solely on Fusion Summoning.

  • Name: James Lancaster
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: A handsome blond haired young man with blue eyes, he wears a black sleeveless shirt, a black and brown leather jacket with a white stripe on the left side, blue jeans and sneakers. He is quite a bit muscular.
  • Personality: Hot-Blooded and yet a very serious type, he duels to win and not much else. He is concerned primarily with winning so as to prove himself to people. He is quite Dangerously Genre-Savvy, and a very smart and capable man. He is very odd in that he seems like a Blood Knight. As a hobby, he does boxing and fencing. He does not feel special in any way due to being the "visiting American." He dislikes the negative Eagleland persona portrayal.
  • History: As a kid, he defeated the strongest duelist in his home city in a match he felt was solely won by him due to luck. As a result, he has decided to become more than just a person who unseated a king. He wanted to become known as a champion. He belongs to the large and very powerful Lancaster Family. He has a tenuous past with his father, who is divided between being proud of him and wishing his son would be more ready to take over the corporation when dad steps down.

  • Deck: Chaos Knights
  • Deck List:
  • Monsters: 21
  • 3x Chaos End Master
  • 3x Sphere of Chaos

  • 2x Blood Mefist
  • 2x Thought Ruler Archfiend
  • 3x Avenging Knight Parshath
  • 2x Scrap Dragon
  • 1x Colossal Fighter
  • 1x Dark End Dragon

  • Name: Carol Lancaster
  • Age: 17
  • Appearance: A very beautiful and tall woman, she has long blond hair, blue eyes, and very...ahem, generous assets. She prefers dressing in needlessly showy dresses which fulfill a lot of Fanservice tropes.
  • Personality: An odd case of a Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass, Carol acts like a manipulative Libby, using her looks and girl squad for many nefarious purposes. She really likes ogling guys, and ever since she and James arrived, her eyes have been glued to Daisuke. She has a very irritating Noblewoman's Laugh "Wohohohohoh!" Despite this, she is incredibly smart and, when not acting like The Libby and a stereotypical blond, has incredible dueling and business skills. She does have a hidden heart of gold as well.
  • History: James' twin, though not identical in that sense, she typically follows him around because "Whenever male duelists play, more and more bishies show up." She is also interested in winning tournaments based on her own merit, rather than relying on familial pull.
  • Deck: Smug Serpents
  • Deck List:
  • Monsters: 21
  • 3x Reptilianne Naga

  • 1x Monster Reborn

  • Traps: 6
  • 2x Escape from the Dark Dimension
  • 1x Mirror Force
  • 3x Offering to the Snake Deity

  • And for shits and giggles: One of the Libby types at the Duel Academy...maybe.

I just so happen to have an original archetype to use...

I'll PM you the Abominations, just so you can okay/not-okay them. Or would it be better if I posted them here so that everyone knew what they can do?

  • Name: Simon Warbino
  • Age: 19
  • Appearance: Simon is... Well, I guess we could start by saying he looks pretty average. He is a little short for his age but of average weight. He has short brown hair and deep brown eyes. He wears glasses because he actually needs them and likes to dress casual for everything.
  • Personality: Simon is a pretty relaxed guy, preferring to do things for fun than to worry about what happens as a conscequences. He is a Determinator to the end but doesn't let it bother him if he loses. Don't let that fool you though, as he takes dueling rather seriously and aims to win.
  • History: Simon has a rather uneventful childhood. Well, except for that he seemed to have a natural affinity for dueling. He was considered the best on his block. However, he quickly learned that this meant very little as, upon entering his first tournament at the age of 18, he was narrowly defeated in the first round. It was a learning experience for the teen as he came to grips that having fun was more important than winning. Interestingly enough, his opponent enjoyed the duel so much that he gave him some cards that were not commonly circulated yet: The Abominations. Simon has since used these cards to try and duel as many strong opponents as possible and have a blast doing so.
  • Deck: Fear the Abominations!

      • 2 x Roaring Earth
      • 2 x Dark Bribe

If you're still accepting characters, I'd like to join. Maybe I'll actually have my character in a position to interact with the rest of the cast before feces hits the rotating bladed contraption this time. Also, I'd like to try a couple of custom cards I wrote up a while back(I'll PM them to you when I find them) if that's okay. And...would one or two of Sartorius' anime Arcana Force be allowed?

Evi, is that "Abomination Surge" from the deck or the graveyard, or either?

Here are those cards I mentioned:

Arcana Force XI - Justice
2100/2100 6* Light/Fairy
When this card is Summoned, toss a coin. ● Heads: When this card attacks, destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on your opponent's side of the field at the end of the Damage Step. ● Tails: This card cannot declare an attack unless you send one Spell or Trap Card you control to the Graveyard.

Arcana Force V - The Hierophant
1500/1500 4* Light/Fairy
When this card is Summoned, toss a coin. ● Heads: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 'Arcana Force' monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck, in face-up Attack Position. ● Tails: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: Send the top 3 cards of your deck to the Graveyard.

Arcana Force XX - Judgment
3000/3000 8* Light/Fairy
This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is Summoned, toss a coin. ● Heads: When this card attacks, destroy all defense position monsters your opponent controls at the end of the damage step. ● Tails: When this card attacks, destroy all other attack position monsters you control at the end of the damage step.

And without further ado...

  • Name: Samantha Karr
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: Samantha is rather unimpressive looking. She's about average for her age heightwise, and very slightly, nigh-unnoticably over the average weightwise. She has long red hair that she keeps tied back in a ponytail and green eyes. Her standard attire consists of a pair of jeans, a black t-shirt and a thick-rimmed pair of glasses.
  • Personality: Samantha is pretty cheerful and easygoing most of the time. She's willing to joke around about just about anything, but takes it kind of personally when people insult fortune telling. However, her personality pulls a full 180 when she duels, becoming quiet and analytical.
  • History: Samantha's childhood was fairly normal, growing up in a normal household, with normal parents and a normal brother. The women in her family have always been fortune tellers by trade, inheriting a tarot deck and an Arcana Force deck on their 16th birthday.
  • Deck: The Future's Bright!

  • Anime Role Equivalent?: Hmm, deckwise it should be obvious. I guess between the fortune telling and the nerdy appearance she's a little Carly-ish, but I'm just going by what I've seen of her in Tag Force 5.

Burn up, hurricane of justice!

Here is one lesser villain:

  • Name: Ragnis Casaji
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: A Dark Skinned Blond, he is Tall, Dark, and Handsome, has some messily cut blond hair and dark gray eyes, and a muscular build made from constant training in the mountains. He wears a simple white short sleeved t-shirt, black pants and worn sneaker shoes.
  • Personality: Ragnis is at first the Nicest of Nice Guy's you have ever known. He is nothing but decent. However, then he up and leaves. The thing is, his family is being held hostage because a man referred to only as "Raiku" wants him to start attacking people. He does not know who the Malevolent Masked Man is, but as long as his family is being held hostage, especially his sister, he has no choice but to be a hired assassin. He feels very guilty about using his martial arts training for this. He prefers being Dangerously Genre-Savvy, but Raiku essentially is forcing him to duel instead. This is because Raiku put a curse on him, so if he duels, then his opponents soul belongs to Raiku. Hence his preference of getting the macguffin cards by force rather than by a duel.
  • History: Ragnis was trained virtually from when he could walk "in a fun little dance." When its time to get dangerous, he reveals that said dance? Its Pencak Silat. He is also very capable in dueling circuits, having competed in both the arts and in dueling, to the extent he would come home exhausted and sometimes even sick. Raiku showed up very recently, in the middle of a bout of depression that he might be failing to protect his family from rivals and certain people. This did not help. At all. Ragnis is very much a Stepford Smiler now, thanks a lot Raiku.
  • Deck: Blast Dance

  • 1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
  • 3x Reborn Tengu
