I want it to end on a ambiguous note. Not downer, but not exact.

I honestly didn't like the ending. It seems to be implying something, but it ends to quick.

I had no idea what they were trying to tell us flashing back to 1964 like that.
My feelings towards Lana and Johnny are incredibly mixed. All he wanted was parents to love him. I'm torn between feeling that how Lana resolved the situation with Johnny was badass or kind of cold and selfish.
My favorite part of the episode was the flashback showing how Kit rescued Jude from Briarcliff and became a part of his family. I still wonder why the aliens were involved with Kit at all, though.
I'll miss Kit's Boston accent. :'D

Do not obey in advance. That she'd be forever trapped in Briarcliff, just like everyone else. The only person to make it out in one piece, ironically, was Sister Jude. And even then she never escaped her own spiral (of depression).

The only characters who have it good are the dead characters, and Lana is now the only one left.

How could you watch everything she went through and not be ultimately even a little bit sympathetic to her?

The finale basically says that, even with Eunice, Dr. Arden, Threadson, Monsignor, and Johny all dead, the horror will never truly end. Lana isn't bad, but she will now never be the same as she once was.

The world isn't ready for giant T4 combustion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GbpGiYmBSs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKm9It's the way that she did it, not what she did. She's still sympathetic, but her time at Briarcliff left her coldblooded.
That's what the conversation about looking into the face of evil was about, and the pull out shot at the end with the spiral motiff and all the inmates trapped walking up and down the staircase. That and the Madonna parallels, and the way what Lana experienced resonated with the Angel of Death (who acted as a metaphor for clingy depression/mental illness).

I don't know, I like seeing the bad guy win in horror movies. That didn't happen, but I shouldn't fuss over it. I think they could have pulled it off better. In fact, the last two episodes are probably the weakest this season, in terms of quality.

Continuim kills off two characters with barely any forethought and not much else really happens. The season finale was okay, though

Check the last couple of episodes, specifically Name Game. Theirs probably a quote or something in the background, like a newspaper.

Yeah, he looked so pale in this episode.
