Picture, if you will, a school like but unlike any other. There is a small, picturesque town named Juffurston, bordering a dark woodland and sitting in the shadow of a majestic mountain range. It's the autumn term, and pupils are already milling in and out of the centre of town, at the esteemed Troper High School. Pupils have fun in the corridors as they make their way to class, new teachers rush to begin their exciting lessons, all under the watchful eye of the principal, and the state-of-the-art computer system. All seems fairly normal, at first glance.

But all is not well in Juffurston. A gang of Clowns prowl the streets, taking what they want, committing criminal acts that make sense to them alone. Pupils that step out of line once too often aren't expelled, but sent away for 'tests' and aren't seen again. And when was the last time you saw anyone coming out of the woods?

But there is one, very, very big problem. Some people around the school teachers and pupils alike, are stricken with pounding headaches, and they start to see visions and hear voices from a different life. A life where they were heroes, villains, the stuff of movies and stories, and anything but ordinary students in a high school. Should they hunt for the truth behind these strange memories, they are sure to find that so many things aren't what they seem, in Troper High.

_________________

Welcome, welcome, one and all! Welcome to an event inspired by High School AU and Just for Fun!

This RP, like so many others out there, is a massive crossover event, where characters from just about any fiction can interact. But there's just one caveat: they're all human beings in a High School! Your favourite characters will wake up one day, with a completely different set of memories, and all involved with a high school called, you guessed it, Troper High. But this is no mere high school drama, no sir. Some characters may start to remember their past lives, and if they want, they can try to unravel the mystery of why they're here.

Or maybe they just want to continue living as they do now. You make the call! This story is basically free roam, so if you wanted you could probably stick to slice of life. But for those that want a little more escapism and adventure, there's passageways to other little realms of science and magic, to give a little more insight into the characters and the mysterious world they find themselves in.

_________________

Now, me dearies, some ground rules for character selection. Please read them carefully, though I will highlight some if they are ignored too often.

  • Any applicants will drop in their characters at the start of a new school day in game. If you apply during a school day, you will have to wait until the next one begins.

  • All characters start off as human beings, or near enough. Don't worry, there'll be a chance or two for you to make them their real selves, if you pick a character that's not originally human. This rule may only be bypassed if there is sufficient excuse in their new backstory (i.e. alien that masquerades as human)

  • Any superpowers a character has in canon will be toned down, or muted. For example, a street level superhero may be accepted. A Flying Brick of world shaking proportions will not. Powers must not be used to disrupting affect (epic battles and whatnot) on the school grounds, except during a GM controlled event.

  • No characters with their own Self-Demonstrating Article. Those are to be handled by a GM ONLY. I can't stress that enough.

  • OC characters are not permitted, as part of the point of this is to be a High School AU equivalent of a Mega Crossover. A Heroic Mime, or characters that are canon but have no established personalities, are more acceptable.

  • Only one character per person. So characters part of an inseparable duo aren't allowed to take their partners along, I'm afraid. This rule may be changed sooner rather than later, but for now, it's just one per person. The only exception: the family of the character, if they have one. This will be strictly restricted to their home until further notice.

  • Characters from the same franchise are allowed to have overlapping backstories, provided that their respective players discuss it before hand. No suddenly dropping your character in, then scooting them up to another person from their story, then going "Hi! I know you and you know me! We're friends!", and just expect the other player to go with it just like that.

  • Characters remembering who they are will be handled by a GM, NOT the player themselves. History has taught us that players in control of their characters regaining memories will get carried away and may derail the plot. In this RP, a character will remember who they are under these circumstances:
    • A pattern hinted at throughout the game.
    • A character who is not human in canon becomes what they were originally.
  • The regaining of memory will not be instantaneous, and will be as slow a process as necessary.

  • And of course, when it comes to fighting or general interaction, no autohitting, godmodding, or generally playing a character as completely unstoppable without a very, very good reason.

If you're concerned about any of these rules, and whether or not your character passes them, just ask either me, or my faithful Sub-GM, Fusionman. Hero, villain, neutral character, from book or film or video game, it's up to you who you want to play. Just fill out this form, and you're ready to go.

  • Name: (Self explanatory)
  • Franchise: (Where the character is originally from)
  • Former Species: (Applies only to characters that in their original source are an animal, robot, or generally non-human)

  • Personality: (How your character acts)
  • Abilities: (What talents or special skills your character has, but keep it reasonable)
  • Equipment: (What tools they carry. Again, keep it reasonable)
  • Current Occupation: (Very important this. Will they be a pupil in this game, or a teacher, or even a janitor?)
  • Backstory: (What is the new history this character has for their life in the world of Troper High? What's their home life like? How did they get to be a pupil/teacher/staff member here?)

  • Name: Deadpool AKA Wade Wilson
  • Franchise: Marvel comic-verse
  • Personality: A fourth-wall breaking "mad-man" Wade Wilson is a hyper man constantly cracking jokes no matter how inappropriate.
  • Abilities: I assume no healing factor correct?
  • Equipment: Toy guns and swords at his house, mask constantly
  • Current Occupation: pupil
  • Backstory: His face and scars all over his body are horrible horrible burn scars from when his house caught on fire while he was sleeping as a kid. He was cooking chimmichangas while his parents were out and he forgot about them and went to sleep. Recently enrolled in Troper High after leaving another facility (which some rumor to be an insane asylum) Wade is just trying to enjoy life without the cops getting involved.

  • Name: Heatwave
  • Franchise: Transformers Shattered Glass
  • Former Species: Cybertronian Decepticon/ former Prime component.
  • Old Appearance: This.
  • New Appearance: Relatively young, approximately 13-14 years old. He's never seen without his pair of Nerd Glasses (and his hat, which vaguely resembles his former body's headgear, but besides that he's not entirely unattractive in an endearing sort of way. He generally wears a black T-shirt emblazoned with this logo (although he's not entirely sure what it stands for, or what it means) and red sweatpants.
  • Personality: Heatwave's personality has remained practically unchanged from his previous form. He's still cheerful and friendly, albeit a little quirky. What sets him apart from his friends, though, is the fact that he regards everything mechanical as alive, even when they're clearly not. He'll hold conversations with his computer, chat with a television, or even get into an argument with a faulty modem. Stranger still is that, despite these many ecentricities, he's an excellent mechanic and tinkerer, better than most adults in the same field.
  • Abilities: Extremely gifted with all forms of technology as mentioned before and a relatively proficient fist-fighter. Otherwise, he prefers to think his way out of a problem than leap in. Besides that, those who hang around him too long may notice a strange aura emanating from his body- something that has no bearing on his personality or abilities, of course, but a strange and unidentiable feeling radiating from his presence. Heatwave himself has no notice of this emanation and dismisses it as being crazy talk.
  • Equipment: Not much besides some screwdrivers and wrenches.
  • Current Occupation: Student.
  • Backstory: Heatwave's divorced father was a software engineer who moved to Juffurston during the beginning of the information age with young Heatwave in tow. From his father, Heatwave learned all about how machines and computers worked, and with his dad frequently away on business trips Heatwave grew up surrounded by machines. This likely influenced his future personality, but for cheery, quirky Heatwave it's just a fact of life.

I'm not sure if this will really work, but here goes anyways... >.<

  • Name: Panty Anarchy
  • Franchise: Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt
  • Former Species: (Fallen) Angel
  • Appearance: The crazy, sexy blondy
  • Personality: Panty's personality is pretty much the same as it always was: she's a rude, abrasive, short tempered, lazy, self-centered, sex obsessed bitch, really. Whilst she will occasionally show a softer side, these occasions are few and far between.
  • Abilities: Panty is notably stronger and more durable than her physical build-up would imply, and is very, very lucky. She's very good with guns, although she's not entirely sure how or why this is, seeing how she hates the smell of gunpowder.
  • Equipment: A custom air pistol that she affectionately refers to as "Backlace".
  • Current Occupation: Student
  • Backstory: She and her sister Stocking were both orphans adopted by the church and were training to be nuns until one day they committed some unknown sin. This led to them being sent to the city to atone for whatever it was they did with good deeds, the two being overseen by their new guardian, Father Garterbelt. Of course, Panty being Panty, she spends most of the time she's supposed to be atoning for her sins goofing off and looking for guys to screw.

  • Equipment: An Audino named Joy who's male but acts female and a Missingno that becomes things Black needs, aka a sword, a motorcycle, etc.
  • Current Occupation: Student
  • Backstory: A traveling Pokemon trainer who had the misfortune to be targeted by the strangest things, he aims to become a Pokemon Champion and hook up with his love interest, White (who is a much better trainer in every regard.)

  • Name: Orochi
  • Franchise: Okami
  • Former Species: Snake Demon
  • Old Appearance: Speak the words "I wish evil unto the world..."
  • New Appearance: A dark skinned, dark haired boy who likes to wear black. Wears a small bell on a cord around his neck. Has kanji on each finger (excluding thumbs) that each represent one of eight elements - Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Poison, Lightning, Light, Dark.
  • Personality: Orochi is very arrogant, believing himself superior to all others. He has an odd habit of trying to bite attractive women, and often tries to demand "sacrifices" from people for some reason. Likes to boss around other people.
  • Abilities: With each finger, he can create and control a small amount of the element(no bigger than his fist) written on it. Breaking one of his fingers prevents its element from working, but his fingers are seemingly unbreakable unless you damage the bell around his neck.
  • Equipment: Just his little bell.
  • Current Occupation: Pupil
  • Backstory: Being born with eight strange kanji on his fingers, Orochi one day figured out their strange use, making him very arrogant and stubborn. He moved in from another town, after he was expelled for trying to rape a girl named Kushi. A white-haired girl whom he'd fought with often, named Amaterasu - and her big brother Susano'o - stopped him, however, and since then he has become a bitter, hateful child.

  • Name: Dr. Insano
  • Franchise: The Spoony Experiment
  • Appearance: SCIENCE!
  • Personality: Insano is completely insane, often cackling and laughing evilly, as well as announcing plans for world domination, making even the most Genre Blind people be convinced that this guy's evil. His name also comes from the fact that he is not exactly right in the head, often using questionable logic for his own ends. He will often use SCIENCE! as a Wild Card Excuse.
  • Abilities: He can turn any household appliance into a functioning gadget * and can fix broken things, even if they are out of repair.
  • Equipment: He has goggles that protect him from flashbangs and the sun, as well as possessing X-ray and night vision. It can also be used as a camera. He also possess a stethoscope, but it's just a plain ol' stethoscope.
  • Current Occupation: Teacher (OF SCIENCE!)
  • Backstory: When Dr. Insano was just plain old Noah Antwiler, he had a crush on a girlfriend during his teen years. On Prom Night, Noah finally had the nerve to ask her out, but was rejected when the school's football captain beat him to the punch. Devastated from the rejection, Noah shut out all the social experiences of his life and began to cram for an exam for the one subject he always liked. Science. The cram night had made Science an obsession for Noah, and soon, he wanted more knowledge for Science. He enrolled in college and eventually graduated with a doctorate. However, it took a toll on his sanity, and this, Noah Antwiler was dead, and instead, it was Doctor Insano. He then decided to get a job at Troper High, where he wishes to pass on his knowledge of Science to others, so that they can be obsessed with it as he did. Dr. Insano lives in the School Basement, as he doesn't wish to return to his normal home, or as he prefers to call it, "Noah's Home".

Ok... I'm not sure which Homura I should play as... (Original Shrinking Violet Meganekko Homura, or later timelines (3rd and higher, IIRC) Stoic Badass Homura...) Also, what would be too much with her time manipulation powers? And, finally, Loudead said she might play as Madoka rather than Sayaka... If she does, should I somehow tie the backstories of the two of them together?

Very interesting choices everybody. I think I might accept them all for the most part. Just one small thing:

kagescorpionakki: You say he controls the elements in a small amount. To what extent exactly, just shooting them out of his fingers or what? How did he get those kanji on his fingers in the first place, was he born with them?

Name: The Jesus of Suburbia!
Franchise: Don't wanna be an American Idiot!
Old Appearance: This.
Personality: Rebellious. Experimental. Maybe crazy. Low willpower, easily influenced by friends. Likes blondes.
Abilities: He sings everything he says, with accompanying musical keys.
Equipment: Nothin'
Current Occupation: Student.
Backstory: Born with a very angry father and a loving, if unpurposed mother. His father died at age ten, leaving mixed memories, quite a few good, some bad. While a very angry man, he never once hurt his family, and is remembered as a loving father. His father threw him therapy at age seven, after a crossdressing phase. He started speaking like he does at the age of four. He plans to leave school at the day of his 18th birthday. He has several people who he hangs out with outside of school, but doesn't count them as friends, stating that they don't "get him."

[up]Well, for the most part he'd slot right into such a setting. I'm a little concerned about the singing, though. Should the other characters notice that he only ever sings? Could it not just be him saying the lyrics? Just a couple of concerns there.
