I was more surprised there wasn't holding called on that play(three different times on the same play)... But hey, can't have the Packers kept from going 18-1...
Meh, the referees only see what they want to see. As evident by the "chop-block" called on Gore. Note to the line judge who threw that flag: for a chop-block to have occurred, the defender has to be engaged before his legs are cut out from under him. Gore hit the defender first...

Generally speaking, I like Suh's style of play. I like the fact that there's still room in the NFL for aggression and violence. I like his attempts at intimidation.
However, there's no excuse for stomping on another player. It's immature and shows a lack of control.
Worst of all, he's already gotten in trouble multiple times for taking things too far AND has met with the commissioner to discuss his style of play in order to curb events such as this.
I think it's that prior meeting with Goodell that will make his punishment more severe than anyone is thinking. He'll be gone for 3 game and possibly the season + $100K fine.
If this was a first or hell even a second offense I'd understand going easy on the guy but he freaking met with the commissioner about this kind of thing & he's still doing it only weeks later.
That being said, he wasn't the only person who did something wrong. Pat Lee was repeatedly punching a Lion through his face mask and side of the helmet in the same game. It's not being discussed because he's a nobody and his ejection meant nothing and didn't affect his team.

Well, that and the fact that shoving someone's head into the ground then stomping on their arm is generally considered worse than "just" a punch, but yes. No excuse for that either. To be perfectly honest, I was surprised that Woodson didn't get ejected back in week 1 for throwing a punch. It probably depends on the referee, and if Buck and Aikman are to be believed, the ref for this game is a little flag-happy.
C'mon. Suh is a KID. There are veterans that act a ton worse. Not excusing what he did, cause, damn, it was bad. And dumb as shit.
But I hate when the media and hopped-up fans start chanting "See??! This is what's wrong with the NFL! This is what's wrong with sports!"
No, what's wrong with sports is that a eye-witnessed child molester can still be welcome on a college campus running a boys program.
Suh is a dude that just needs to chill.
It was an honorSo, Tebow was 9-18 for 141 and a TD in yet another win(with 67 rushing yards)... But after watching that whole game, it seemed to me that Fox was doing all he could to give the game to the Chargers...
Though, I have come to the conclusion that the running backs of Denver have to be the biggest Tebow fans, due to all the carries they're going to get over the rest of the season(and next season if he somehow wins over Elway).
This just in...The Eagles really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really suck (though not as badly as the Colts). And we aren't making the playoffs short of every single team in the NFC East losing every single game and Dallas/Giants splitting the series.
However, Denver is pleasantly surprising me and I'm quickly learning not to bet against Tebow. I don't know how he's doing it, but he's getting wins and it's working.
"I'm Commander Shepard, but I guess I'm now your therapist."I think the Broncos' defense are also Tebow's biggest fans, since they have gotten a lot better and have more time to recover between drives. I don't know if the Broncos will make the playoffs, but they'll be making things harder for the other teams.
The Raiders sit on top of the division at 7-4. Whodathunkit?? The Steelers had a harder time with the Chiefs last night, though they weren't playing 100% and didn't do much with the gifts Kalpo gave them.
It was proven last year, and has been reiterated in the two games it's happened this year: Pittsburgh's defense is an average defense when Troy Polamalu doesn't play, but a it is a great defense, bordering on the best, when he does.
Pittsburgh's offensive woes are problematic, though... More and more I see it as an offensive coordinator issue(play calling and the like) more than anything else... And pray for the day when some unlucky sap of a GM hires Bruce Arians as a head coach* so that Pittsburgh can get a new(hopefully better) coordinator.
Edit: Most interesting aspect of a 6-5 Broncos? If they win next week, and Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati, The Broncos would find themselves the potential 6 seed(they win the tiebreaker over the Bengals because they beat the Bengals in Orton's only win)...

Only a few weeks left until that wonderful time of the season. No, I don't mean the playoffs; I mean coaches getting fired. Here who I think is going to get ousted:
1.) Tony Sparano (Miami Dolphins) - Yes, yes, you won three games in a row. That's nice. Your team has played really hard all season. That's nice too. Still not going to save you in the long run.
2.) Steve Spagnuolo (St. Louis Rams) - Especially with the rumors going around that they're going to relocate back to LA. Fresh start, fresh coach. I think his time's just run out.
3.) Andy Reid/Tom Coughlin (Phil. Eagles/NY Giants) - It's all going to end up on who wins the division. I know that the Eagles aren't technically eliminated, but barring some sort of miracle, Reid's done. Coughlin, I think, has to win the division in order to keep his job.
4.) Norv Turner (San Diego Chargers) - There is absolutely no way he is still going to be the coach when you've lost five straight, and in bad ways as well. If Schottenheimer can get fired over going 13-3 or 14-2 or whatever he was in his last year and getting ousted in the first round, Turner can get fired over this.
5.) Mike Shanahan (Washington Redskins) - He's going to quit/resign. I can see it now. He did not come to Washington to have two bad years in a row. Yes, everyone under the sun who was relevant on the field got knocked out for the season (Hightower, Cooley, etc.), but there comes a point where you have to admit that it was a mistake to come here.
I'm probably forgetting a couple of people, but these are the ones that are popping up in my head at the moment.
Jack Del Rio's getting fired too. Going 3-8 with a team that was expected to at least be competitive in our division is already bad enough.
Coupled with the fact that there have been many, many close losses that came down to terrible coaching (including this week's loss - I don't mind the fact that he hurried up on 4th down, but why pass when you have the second best runner in the league?), I doubt that the front office has anymore patience with him.

Reid has two years left on his contract, and as far as I know, Jeffery Lurie, the Eagles owner, seems to have made no overt move to even signal that he might be firing Reid. At this point, because of the shortened off season this year, I see Lurie giving Reid one more year to make it right before he seriously considers firing/replacing him. Remember, year after year, Eagles fans have been calling for Reid to be fired, and year after year, he hasn't been. Expect him to be around next year.
Well... For the first time in recent history, Eagles fans started leaving before the fourth quarter started... Fans may chant for Andy Reid to be fired, but just completely giving up on the team? I've never seen that happen with regards to a Eagles game. And if it continues to happen(along with continued Eagles losses), it might be enough for Reid to be fired.
I agree it's not likely... But I'm of the idea that Reid gets fired before Coughlin.

I'm with you. I think Reid gets one more year to turn this team around. If the 2012 Eagles get anything less than a playoff berth, though, Reid's gone.
Anyway, time for the week 13 playoff scenarios, courtesy of The Other Wiki!
Clinching:
- The Packers clinch:
- a playoff spot with a win.
- the NFC North with a win plus a Lions loss * .
- The 49ers clinch the NFC West with either a win or a loss by both the Cardinals and Seahawks.
Elimination:
- The Panthers are eliminated with a loss.
- The Jaguars are eliminated with either a loss or a Bengals win
- The Dolphins are eliminated with either a loss or a Bengals win
Also, as of Week 12, the Colts, Vikings, and Rams are all out of the playoffs.

You must have seen the future or something, as of this morning, Jack Del Rio is no longer the head coach of the Jaguars.

Edit: It now seems that the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise is going to be sold, per front page of the NFL site.

Wait, wait, wait, wait! The Doplhins, Panthers and Jaguars are in contention?! What's this?! I don't even....
...I'd like to have whatever the editor's smoking. Must be some kind of really powerful shit. Unless the Patriots, Saints (And possibly the Falcons) and Texans choke on all of their remaining games, I fail to see how those three teams can even qualify with an 8-8 record. I would let it pass if either one of them was in the NFC West, but since the 49ers may or may not clinch the division with a winning record (OMFG!), the fact that Miami, Carolina and Jacksonville are still alive with 3-8 records just begs to be laughed at royally and believe that the editor that wrote this is a 1st grade retard.
Rant is justified because it just blows my mind.

So, who saw Suh's stomp on Evan Dietrich-Smith? Personally, I don't think there's any way you can deny that Suh is a dirty player. What he did is simply inexcusable.
Also, 11-0 baby!
