Tiny Toon Adventures was not exactly an original property to begin with.
At least he's acknowledging that keeping Looney Tunes relevant is important.
Is it just me, or has WB just screwed themselves badly by this decision?!
More remakes can only lead to more and more failures...
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioCartoon Brew posted about this. Jerry Beck said Register is not to blame, because he didn't make the decision. No company is willing to risk losing millions these days.
Not all remakes lead to failures. The Pony show basically made The Hub's audience! It's what an oversaturated market of these will do.

I'm gonna call it. The horrible ways of animation are back at Warner bros. In other words. They dont want creative stuff over already made based products.
Edit: Damn, I didnt realize I posted Disney instead of Warner Bros. Fixed that!

Due to a severe lack of creative (Especially new generation) animation talent and no job opportunites for them in the US, it won't be soon before long!
Is this how Western animation is going to die?! REALLY?!!

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioThis is not to say that original ideas could not be pitched to, say, Cartoon Network. Take Adventure Time and The Regular Show, for example; those weren't produced through WB. All Register's saying is that WB is too busy mining their vast property library to develop some up and comer's new series idea themselves. If you want to do your own heavy lifting and produce a pilot yourself, then I imagine you have a decent chance of CN looking at it.
Exactly. The smarter ones would be better off giving their business to European or Japanese media UNTIL America wakes up and realizes theyve been and are continuing to ruin themsleves with cush BS thinking. And not just in this one industy as a whole...
I don't suggest Canada unless they want to be stuck doing things im Flash, which majorites ssadly scoff at unless it's done right (which 95% of the time, it isn't).

Is anyone going to set up a new company here in the US to challenge that? Just wondering...
I know that. but when the time comes for this fad to die, they better and better not look back!

Well, if you fans of animation were hoping to pitch an idea to Warner Bros., DO NOT. Sam Register, VP of Creative Development at Warner Bros., acknowledged that they will not look for any new ideas. This follows along with this generation's impulse to adapt properties that have been done before, such as most of the shows on The Hub, and Nickelodeon's action-oriented shows. For once, an animation exec pretty much bluntly stated to a public audience that they're not looking for any original content!
He makes the excuse "we're busy". Yeah, that's one of the reasons I hate vocal news instead of stuff written down, Mr. Register!
