deathpigeon, have you seen the Engineer class? You get a robotic arm, which could be because your normal arm was born with really weak muscles or something. Potential for woobiness is good for that class.

Got my character all nice and finished! Should I put the stats somewhere?

This sounds really awesome. Especially the killer Mareep xD

Also, I don't know if I will even be available as a backup player. I just can't get Maptools to work. >.>

[up]Describe your problem; perhaps I can help.

(also the bulkiness is from its HP, not its Attack; Attack is its second-lowest stat (only Speed is worse.). Its Special Attack on the other hand, actually is killer but that's not bulk, now, is it?)

[up] Funny how our pokémons seems to work the same way... Except mine as twice the number of weaknesses. Hurray for weird elemental combinations! \o/

Okay, so Awe's going to be a Psychic-Air Adept-Type Specialist.

Talden, what's your guy's planned build?

I start with Breeder/Chef, and keep the last class for later. It will probably be Medic, Groomer or Watcher, I'm still pondering (the first one is cool for the support but expensive as hell, the second is more contest-oriented but makes every pokémon happy (something I do want), and the third one would be great for some gene-hunting for future breeding).

I was going to start with Mystic, move into Buffet for support (outside of official matches only, sadly, though you can make stat boosting berries out of any others with it that are fair game.), and taking Move Tutor after that for all kinds of utility.

I was going back and forth between Chef, Martial Artist, or... something else as a fourth class, but as you're taking Chef I guess it'll be down to fists of fury or some other Wisdom or Strength based class.

Hope I'm not breaking your groove, now, am I? I made my character without any public call, I admit, but I don't want to step on anyone's feet...

But that makes a rather diverse team, at least.

No, it's all good. I'm indecisive as everything so it doesn't hurt that my hand is "forced" is every so often. If I didn't have to take Buffet for Move Tutor, I'd still be thinking over that second class.

I'm thinking of starting as a Capture Specialist/Engineer...

Granted, I don't meet the qualifications to become an Air Adept yet - if we encounter any Electric or Flying types, I want to catch them to meet the prerequisite.

Getting your three classes at level 5 can prove very difficult, unless all three are based on the same stat. And it leaves you very dry on advanced Features (but with a lot a basic one). I think it's better to start with two, unless your character really needs the three to work.

(You're using electric type... I don't want to fight you now, Awe Striker.)

[up]I just have Psychic right now. Air Adept's qualification is based on the Pokemon you own (at least 3 or 4 Flying and Electric types, in that case.) So it's really more like "starting with one".

I'm going to start with a Breeder/Ace Trainer. There will probably a whole lot of MAD involved, but it might just be a good combo.

I'm a little worried I'll have a similar problem. I guess I'm in no rush to get Charismatic enough to multiclass into Move Tutor, but the six points I need to spend to get there....

Hm. It's not as bad as the Underdog build I had in mind before, I guess.

So... should we post our backstories and stats here?

Ack, sorry. >.< I've just been preoccupied with stuff lately, and the rulebook is so intimidating. I'll try to get it read and at least something statted out by the weekend, though.

Good plan. I wanted to do that, too, but I was going to start as an Ace Trainer rather than a Psychic.

Character sheet time!

Dan (Now 1.3 compatible!)

  • Class : Breeder / Chef
  • Level : 6
  • Size : 163 cm
  • Weight : 91 kg

  • Appearance : A very round, short 18-years-old man. He wears his black hairs slightly long, but is clean shaved. He usually wears a short-sleeved shirt, baggy pants, and a sweater tied around his tights (who more often than not serves as an improvised apron). A huge backpack completes the look. While obviously overweight, he's moving with ease. It is very rare to see him without a smile on his face.

  • Stats (bonus):
    • Str 7 (-3)
    • Con 10 (+0)
      • HP : 64
    • Dex 9 (-1)
    • Int 8 (-2)
    • Wis 19 (+4)
    • Cha 18 (+4)

  • Features :
    • Breeder Features : Egg Factory, Natural Edge (Daily, +2/+2), Home Cooking (Daily, 1d4+4), Natural Progression (+2/+2), Tender Loving Care (Daily, 1d20+4 heal or 4 Pokémon at a time)
    • Chef Features : Energy Boost (+20), Soul Food, Bait (Daily, 1d20+4)
    • Other Features : -

  • Pokédex: 7 seen, 3 owned.

  • Equipments and stuff:
    • Pokédex
    • 2150 P
    • 3 Pokéballs
    • 3 Potions (2d12+10), 2 Super Potions (3d12+20)
    • 3 Antidotes, 2 Paralyze Heal, 2 Burn Heal
    • Kitchen utensils, spare clothes and other traveling needs.

Dan was born not so far away from Olivine, 18 years ago. He's always been a rather easy-going and enjoyable kid, who liked running in the fields, playing between Miltank's legs, and eating delicious cakes his talented mother baked him. All was good and well, but lil' Dan like to eat a little too much, and started to get round. By the time he got to puberty, he was packing some serious weight. Just at the wrong time, just to be mocked by everyone and became a really shy person, like anyone would have. A few years back, hope came in the form of an egg, given to him by a raunchy fisherman who didn't know what to do with it. Intrigued, he nurtured and warmed it until it hatched into a friendly Spheal. She awoke in him fatherly feelings he wasn't aware he had. The little critter slowly got him out of his shell, probably because Boolie was even rounder than him (as she liked to roll all over the place rather than walk).

Nowadays, Dan has moved to New Bark with his parents, and helps as a cook in their food delivery service. Boolie never left him, and he's even more cuckoo for her than ever. While probably an incredible cook, Dan dreams of traveling around the world to pass the message Boolie made him understand: no matter how you look, no matter what everyone says, there's always someone who will love you for who you really are. And to prove it further, he's been looking for some big, huge and fat pokémons to show how beauty isn't confined to little pampered Vulpix, and how awesome everyone can be. As he likes to say all the time, "Big is beautiful", and he's going to prove it!

Also are you sure you did your HP right? Faraday has more HP than Seth does.

Then again am I sure I did my HP right?
