At first I got it: the Wall Crack in particular made sense to me because it seemed somewhat organic, as you get more memory upgrades, you can hold more Digimon. Having to have a certain number of Rookie or higher in your party made a lot of sense because until you get past a certain point, it's impossible to carry that many Rookies.
... and then after that it because an arbitrary game of just happening to have the right Digimon.
I just want to nuke things with Shakkoumon.
Also a weird thing: The half Silent Protagonist thing the game does. I keep thinking we've got a Heroic Mime, but once in a while the PC will actually say things.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.ReArise is just as weird, in another way.
The game does have artworks for the male and female protagonists, but not only you don't get to choose your gender, you don't even see the artworks in the game outside of the "name your account" screen.

Something will be announced tomorrow, on the 23rd birthday of the franchise.
Could be anime related, could be game related.
Please be Survive news...
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Sadly, no Survive news yet. I personally want to find out more about the relationship of the Digimon partners and the humans they're partnered with.
Some of them are clearly compatible, but some others are total opposites to the point of having strained relationship.....which is something unusual in a Digimon media.
Was Hacker's Memory good? I enjoyed Cyber Sleuth.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Its basically More Cyber Sleuth, so yeah.
Watch Symphogearwelp I can't fault them for delaying it and there's new content elsewhere in the franchise right now so I don't think the wait will be quite bad in comparison to how I felt for Hacker's Memory.
The link says Survive is still slated to come out this year.
I certainly hope so. They have four months until the year ends.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.For anyone who cares: Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition is on a steam sale right now for 50% off. I'm happy since I was in a digimon mood and really wanted to get it, very fortuitous.
ReArise Global server is going to have its first anniversary next month.

In chapter 12 of Hacker's Memory! Things are getting serious and sad now, even more than they already were.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Spent most of today playing Cyber Sleuth.
This feels positively heavenly coming after digimon world 2 (which i used to love but now mostly view as a terrible game with one of the worst grinds ever).
My only major complaint is that the difficulty balance could have used some work. It's very rare that I actually feel threatened by the enemies in this game, even with basically no grinding and simply fighting most random encounters. Some of the bosses do decent damage and one or two even ko'd one or two digimon but it was nothing that constituted as a major setback. Granted I am using two platinumsukamon to get a shitton of EXP, and I know hard mode exists but I heard it was not super well implemented.

Yeah, CS hard mode was just a case of the devs increasing the numbers on enemies and not doing much else to substantially change battles, which got really dumb when it came to bosses hitting absurdly hard with very little to balance it out on the player's side.
Yea, Digimon World 2 was lovely back then, but now as I understand a lot more about the game, wow it does have a lot of flaws.
Digimon World 3 is still my most favorite Digimon World game to this day, its only real flaw was the lack of fast travel when in-universe, it's supposed to be an MMO.
Beat Hacker's Memory. I found the ending to be depressing in a way that probably wasn't intended. Erika's reason for staying in the Digital World was partly due to wanting to explore and do the things she couldn't do as a human, but also so her friends and family wouldn't be burdened by her. The ending has everyone but the hero, who remembers her and is miserable over it, completely happy having forgotten her and it kinda read to me as 'disappearing from existence and memory is a good thing for you and the people around you'.
Not the best game to beat if you're depressed. XD;

The Protomen enhanced my life.I don't really think Hudie being happy in the retconned world was meant to be commentary on Erika's non-existence but rather just a consequence of their inability to be in the Digital World/its gateway to keep their memories intact.
I'd argue Hacker's Memory gives actual weight to Cyber Sleuth's ending as the latter's approach to the Cosmic Retcon is almost a bit too saccharine with how it glibly dismisses Kishibe's crimes as of little consequence and still has her cozy up to Papa Kamishiro and the bizarre addendum of "oh yeah Suedou did a bad and therefore he gets arbitrarily completely retconned out of existence" with very little reflection on what this means for anyone.
Suedou in general has problems that extend far beyond the ending of either game, imo.
But Hacker's Memory at least gives 1.) a more plausible explanation for Suedou's motivations in his tangible relationship with Erika instead of a contrived Word of God his girlfriend got fridged backstory and 2.) actually interrogates the writing decision to have Suedou retconned as to whether it would have impact, ie. his providing of medical tools to help Erika cope with her disease.
For someone who turns out to be the final human villain I found Suedou kinda a nonentity. It was just like 'Oh, that guy' and even though he does stuff it never feels like there's any real weight behind any of it, at least to me. I also found it kinda weird how CS ended with EDEN still being around but HM had the opposite. I wonder which is canon.
The YMMV page lists him as a Scrappy but I didn't find Ryuchi that bad, though about 95% of his problems would be lessened if he just talked to people instead of being The Stoic or being a martyr. He is not-so-secretly emo. XD
Speaking of Easily Forgiven, Yu kinda had that too.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I didn't notice it as much in the beginning but people weren't kidding when they said this translation was a mess. "Bakemono" being translated as Bakemon is the funniest one to me.
I cracked up every time that happened in Cyber Sleuth. i was a little sad Hacker's Memory fixed it except for one instance.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Yeahhhhh the idea that EDEN is still around to give people EDEN Syndrome in CS to handwave why Aiba wouldn't immediately be restored during the end but then HM remembered "wait shit the guy who was a major component in helping Kamishiro Corp get the EDEN beta off the ground was arbitrarily retconned out of existence because we wrote it that way" to engineer Erika drama is easily one of the weirder writing incongruities.
Ryuji's fine, he's my least favorite Hudie member but that's only in the terms that the writing for Erika is just that strong, Chitose's not so bad himself, and Keisuke's relationships with his two main friends are some of the more interesting bits of HM imo. Though Arkadimon is pretty darn generic in this game and I cannot for the life of me remember anything about Ryuji under Arkadimon's influence except for the boring get more power arc that Arata did better.

Maybe it made a parallel universe? XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.
I just hate it because if I've been progressing just fine with what I have why should I have to have a specific amount of Data, Virus, Vaccine or Rook, Champion, Ultimate, or Mega Level Digimon to advance the game? Like, I'm doing just fine with what I have even if I haven't Digivolved my Digimon/got other Digimon so let me play the game. Like blocking things off based on story progress makes sense but blocking things off by the number of Digimon you have of any given type/level is just dumb. Really hoping Survive doesn't do that.
