this might ultimately be a copy of my Scrappy thread as these two tropes sometimes overlap. but this is a thread for the "like" side of the Broken Base. shows and films can be listed too.

shows/films.

every Don Bluth film sequel except The Land Before Time series after the first few movies and Secret Of NIMH 2. look at my thread on the subject for more detail.

the second Balto film. it was OK.

Loonatics Unleashed. this show was cool.

characters:

Lola Bunny. look on my Scrappy thread for the reasons why.

again, I liked Dani Phantom.

Pinkie Pie. she's annoying in a good way, per the course for any Cloud Cuckoo Lander.

from the same show, the Cutie Mark Crusaders. while I still think my previous statement has something to do with it, I've changed my Fridge Brilliance on them. it's quite obvious that Sweetie Belle is afraid of singing in public, so she doesn't focus on it. wile Apple Bloom seems to be good at building and design, there's no real evidence she is passionate about either. so she just tags along with her friends, hoping to find something. and Scootaloo does have the ability to appreciate the "girly" things but her young age and tomboy personality make it very difficult to express those feelings properly.

Pinkie Pie is a Scrappy? From what I've seen from the fanbase, it looks like she's the exact opposite of a Scrappy to me.

[up] well, if a character's on the "don't like" side or the Broken Base, he/she's probably a Scrappy.

Isn't the point of a Broken Base is that the fanbase are split about that sort of thing? And thus because the fanbase is split about it, they can't be a Scrappy because the fanbase hasn't fully thrown it's support against them?

Alright I'll bite

If I skip the songs,I have nothing against the first three Land Before Time sequels which I'd consider So Okay, It's Average and ya' know what the composer actually has few good themes that never showed up n the original, and he's generous with reusing James Horner's score to.

I enjoyed Loonatics Unleashed for a little bit, before it petered out into So Okay, It's Average territory

I absolutely hate the Avatar The Last Airbender episode "The Southern Raiders" and I don't mind "The Great Divide"

An American Tail:Fievel Goes West was brilliant work

Shaggy Scooby Doo:Get A Clue was actually a pretty good show, liked it far more than the 70's shorts or later DTV films

Ratatouille,Cars, and Monsters Inc are the weakest Pixar films to date while WALL-E,Toy Story 2,and The Incredibles are the best Pixar films beating out even Toy Story 3 and UP.

  • I enjoy Cars2

I liked the tenth season The Simpsons and absolutely would rather watch Homer be a Jerkass than watch Lisa be a Black Hole Sue. And I don't hate the episode "Saddlesore Galactica" or find any faults with the episode "Alone,Again Natura-Diddly" which each segment was kind of justified.

  • I'd rather watch the first half of Mike Scully's tenure than anything showrun by David Mirkin (Seasons 5 and 6)

Brian is my favorite character in Family Guy because I agree with most of what he says, and because everyone else is unlikable or just too disturbing

I find Friendship Is Magic to be barely more than So Okay, It's Average

I prefer Kevin Michael Richardson as the voice of The Joker over LukeSkywalker who really was best as Fire Lord Ozai and I like The Batman where its even better than TAS sometimes.

And finally I like Jar Jar Binks,....in Clone Wars where he is much more likable.

for a moment, I almost got upset that you called Fi M So OK, It's Average. but I realized that team can range from "meh" to "it's not great but still good". and as long as you understand why it has a Periphery Demographic, I'm cool.

[up][up] I agree with your stance on Friendship is magic. It's a good show, don't get me wrong, but it's not meme-worthy in my opinion.

Also, I hate hate 'hate Zutara shipping, never liked He-man, and Hanna Barbera cartoons suck wang.

Kick Buttowski and Jimmy Two Shoes get a lot of flack, I'm sure. I'm also sure there's someone out there who thinks I'm a retard for liking tohse two shows and not something like Phineas and Ferb, just to name an example of something I'm sure almost everyone currently enjoys (That I don't).

@Known Unknown. maybe you're right but that's what I gathered from the two tropes.

I don't actually see a reason why we need this thread. If this is for the 'like' side of a fan argument, how is it different than other threads where we discuss what we like? Every show has a broken base anyway!

I don't see the big deal about Friendship Is Magic. I guess it's So OK, It's Average but I can't stand it, myself. I think the bigger problem is that I can't even say that without the fans breaking down into tears about how one person doesn't like the show.

I still like Family Guy. It has its ups-and-downs, but I don't watch a show for the downs in the first place.

Ben10 was better than Alien Force and all that jazz that came afterwards.

Regular Show is probably the best thing Cartoon Network is cranking out on a regular basis. Adventure Time probably comes at a far second.

I'd mention my opinion about that one Looney Tunes spin-off, but I'd rather my PM box not get flooded by a particular person...

[up] They are good shows, but they've got an unfortunate audience stigma toward them, seeing as they're both an acqisition (Jimmy Two-Shoes) and an original effort (Kick Buttowski)(that get only so-so attention, anyway), from Disney.

Disney's so stuck in a dark age right now, that even their good shit will get nothing but hate. I know what to blame it on, though -and the fact that I'm not saying it makes it even more obvious, hopefully.

Disney has never really been dishing out good cartoons since Toon Disney ended. Phineas And Ferb is excellent, but that's ONE cartoon.

You could blame their Live Action titles. Majority of their audience pays more attention to that than their animation.

Yep, I'm still here.

[up][up] and [up] Pretty much this. What's the point of trying on animation for Disney when their live action, which is BS, of course, is garnering more ratings, merch, and attention for them?!

The reason they're hated so much now is obvious - the overuse of live-action. And 99% of it is crap and insulting, overall. They need a balance. Basically, MORE cartoons of Phineas and Ferb's quality to create and build it. And they need it badly.

and I think the difference between this trope and The Scrappy is that The Scrappy has something like 80% of the fanbase hates the character and only 20% like them. but even if the haters outnumber the fans in a Broken Base, the ratio is more 60/40.

OK, I'll bite.

I love Miss Martian and Superboy. Love 'em together, love 'em apart, I just love them.

I hate the Zutara ship, and its shippers are some of the most annoying (although the Bubbline shippers are slowly surpassing it).

I think Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated is the best Scooby Doo series, and so far the only good thing to come from anything Hanna Barbera related. Also, Velma in it is awesome.

And, of course, most of you already know my stance on Annoying Stupid Duck and Boring Purple Rabbit talk for 22 minutes with occasional pandering hip-hop music.
