In my opinion, I like Japanese '90s anime Rei best.
The manga's, and by extension Crystal's, Rei is a bit too bland for me. I've seen the Aloof Dark-Haired Girl trope used plenty of times. It's nice in those series but with Rei, she's more fun when she's a foil to Usagi. I like her temper, her attitude, and her personality best in the '90s anime. It's a shame that it isn't used elsewhere.

I seem to recall she had some temper in PGSM, but I think it was mostly focused on Minako.
Oissu! Both the Live Action and the original had the benefit of time. They weren't running a manga chapter per episode so they needed filler, but in the end, they made (most) of it work to their advantage by fleshing out the characterisation of the Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako.
This is True... I mean
The Minions are much more memorable due to being fleshed out as well... or at least being around long enough to have a distinct personality instead of be instantly killed by the Senshi's new attack.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Since they opted to not kill off the Generals right away(only to do a mass bridge dropping), this is more appropriate.

One Strip! One Strip!God I love you for saying that.

The Shitennou starting to get their memories back thing could have been interesting... but I think Takeuchi realized she had written herself into a corner...
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Repost from previous page... So, this isn't a trivia thread, but can it be?
What's the source for this part of the Manga.Sailor Moon entry from Sailor Fuku?
How involved was Takeuchi in Crystal? Wasn't it just Toei doing everything and following the story more closely this time?
One Strip! One Strip!- I think they meant that she killed them off as a way of escaping the problem of the aftermath of regaining their memories.

I see. Was that because she wanted Usagi and Mamoru as the only couple in the series, or did she think all of the Princess' guards conveniently falling in love with all of the Princes guards too...I guess cliche, but that doesn't seem like the right word honestly.
Did she think it would make the cast too big? What?
One Strip! One Strip!- Maybe it'd break the plot by revealing info too soon? Depending on when the memories are regained, it could be another way of revealing the Moon Princess or something...

Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Confirm / deny please:
World of No Grandparents applies to Sailor Moon, because Grandpa Hino is the only grandparent that's seen in the franchise?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576That would depend on whether the trope title is meant to be literal (meaning a story doesn't fit the trope if there is at least one grandparent in it) or examples where only a few grandparents are shown still count, since Grandpa Hino's existence would mean that the series has at least one character who is a grandparent.
Technically, Ikuko and Kenji are grandparents too, but since we don't see them in Crystal Tokyo, I'm not sure if they count or not (since we only see them with Chibi-Usa when she travels to the past).

I'm sure some of you may have heard that Sailor Moon Crystal was just dubbed in Mexico for a Latin American Spanish release. The first six episodes were streamed on Azteca 7 this afternoon. Not to mention that it uses the original Japanese names.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. So, Sailor Moon Another Story got a fan retranslation. Follows Viz's terms and guidelines as a base and fixed the untranslated Japanese and terrible sentence structure of the original. No honorifics, though they opt for Soldier rather than Guardian. To my surprise the liner notes explained that one as a practical choice with character limits.
"No will to break."My most fave troper just gave me the news I've been wanting to hear for quite a while. I couldnt stand the Honorifics in a Video Game that isnt a Persona game.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Toei recently announced that in 2020, there will be a 2 part movie project called Sailor Moon Eternal!
The first visual shows Usagi and Chibi-Usa looking even more like they did in the original anime because the movie's bringing in the character designer for the original anime, Kazuko Tadano!
Also of note:
- Crystal's third season director Chiaki Kon is returning to direct the two films.
- Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (All 5 parts of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure TV anime, Land of the Lustrous, and PriPara) is penning the scripts.
(Paging the Viz dub girls, you'll be needed again shortly!)

Anyone else in the US gone to stores and found S or movie dvds, but not anything else? Is there a reason behind that? I've seen the movies or S season on sale but never the first season or full series.
Films might not really cover everything in the arc, but that's the best we can do I suppose after Crystal itself bombed.
One Strip! One Strip! The Dead Moon arc was the weakest arc of the manga and anime so no surprise about them not wanting to do another season after Crystal's flop. Looks like they're listening to the complaints about the art to some extent though.
Oissu!Did it bomb? It seemed popular and lasted more than one season.
Well, I got the impression people weren't very fond of it, but that was mostly here.
Plus getting more seasons may not 100% reflect quality, especially if it's riding off the popularity of other parts of the brand.
One Strip! One Strip!
I had this idea recently after reading the YMMV page. Which version had the best version of Rei? I remember the first English dub, like the page said, had the relationship between Usagi and Rei having too much "vitriol" and not enough "best buds." So which version handled it better?
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.
