That's true, I'd forgotten about that.
I've decided on a Ghost Walker serving in the Deathwatch, by the way. I tried to pen down a neophyte's rite of passage, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. Some more discussion on the Ghost Walkers thread would be good, here.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.New chapter
. Leaving town this weekend so I wanted to get it out early. Another large one. 9,000+ words.
You do a really good job at making it seem like the Blood Ravens are overwhelmed. You have a much better sense of scale than I do.
It takes a ton of work for me to make scale work.
Read all of my fanfics! This took longer than expected.
Enjoy. The next chapter will be shootier, I promise.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Since you guys haven't said yet, what did you think of my recent chapters? I only ask because these last two have been really long and filled with combat. Did I handle it well? I'm also looking for feedback about Idranel's death. You guys give better responses than FF.net reviews.
If you haven't read them yet, I understand perfectly, they were long as hell. I guess I could say you guys are my partners in this, so I like coordinating with you all.
Read all of my fanfics!Alright, I've got some thoughts:
Lots of deaths in this one. For spoiler reasons I won't reveal who, but every one of the deaths was very impactful. A lot of effort went into this chapter.
I'm surprised you didn't immediately go for the chance to put someone in a suit of Terminator Armor. I guess since your squad contains a lot of relatively inexperienced Marines, giving them Termie Armor so early would feel weird?
I get the feeling we're going to see Remembrance again.
Yes, the death of Idranel in the end was quite emotional. I wonder what happens next.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.
That's one of the reasons that they didn't put it on. The other is that it takes around an hour to actually don it and it requires a bunch of servitors.
I just now realized that I made my Brick Joke way too subtle and no one caught it.

Read all of my fanfics!Three or four chapters ago, Merrick ordered Kippler to tell him if Angel Gate got up and walked away. The first thing that Kippler says when the Gate explodes is "Sir. Gate's gone."
I could have made it better, looking back on it.
Read all of my fanfics!A snippet to go with my latest shopping list.
- Brother-sergeant Metekh! Can you hear me?
- Huh? Who are you? What is this place? And... wait, who am I, in fact?
- Ah. I am apothecary Dionysos. This place is my Apothec—, well, medical wing, and you are Brother-sergeant Metekh of the Space Marines, the best warriors of the Emperor. You have been wounded in battle and appear to suffer memory loss.
- Uuugh... Why can't I move my body?
- The paralysis shall be over shortly, brother-sergeant. I must warn you however, that it is no longer made of flesh and bone, torn apart by the Enemy's vicious weapons. The wounds you have suffered brought you on the threshold of death, so you have been entombed in a Dreadnought body to allow you to pursue the fight and rain your righteous fury on the Emperor's enemies once again.
- A what?
- But worry not, your misfortune is mitigated a boon! Today, five Nehekhara-pattern prototype Dreadnought bodies have been gifted to us by our revered Space Marine brothers the Iron Hands! Rather than being confined in a bulky and unwieldy chassis and demoted to heavy weapons platform, you will be able to re-join your squad, and regain your rank as your memory heals.
(bleep)
- You should be able to move now. Look at your hands and gaze on its perfect mobility. The Nehekhara chassis leaves you as sleek and agile as any other battle brother.
- It's... marvelous indeed. Say, I see something on my shoulder plate. Is that the same drawing as on your shoulder, uhm... apothecary, was it?
- Indeed. It is the symbol of our glorious Space Marine chapter, the Blood Ravens. Welcome back, brother.
