I did say I was going to bring in somebody, didn't I?
Donovan had, for some reason, rudely left the table he was at, saying something about an island. However, a new guest came floating in, almost literally. She appeared human, but had a pair of small black feathery wings at her hips, close to her lower back. Her arms and legs ended in pitch black coloring as her elbows and knees had feathering around them. Raven black hair sat upon her head as a pair of feathery wings on the sides of her head. Her clothing was... minimal to say the least, consisting of a design mainly focused on bats.
She walked into the Catina, rather unfazed, merely going up to the bar and ordering, "Wine please."
I wanna vomit when I try to describe her sometimes, it gets kind of difficult to not make it sound sexual
To July, Tamiel said, "that is... evident. But surely there is something more to your life than giving tissue samples and not damaging things." Tamiel was beginning to despair at the hopes of even getting interesting conversation, let alone a useful thread to pull, from July.
Then he glanced at the newcomer. Ah, perhaps some hope here? He took a moment to examine the newcomer. He noticed her outfit, showing no particular interest, before saying, "another newcomer. And you would be?"
July shook his head.
"My life is very boring," he said. "You might want to talk to the Xenobiologists. They are much more interesting. They have homes and families and things..." his voice trailed on bitterly. "You have time to do things like that when you're not hooked up to machines trying to keep you from collapsing under your own weight."
July glanced over to the newcomer. "Are you cold?" He asked.
Aware of her attempts at seduction, but utterly unfazed, Tamiel said, "six thousand, four hundred and twenty-nine. How's that for a number? And if you're wondering why I'm so unperturbed by your minor oddities... I assure you, I have seen far stranger things in my time."
Ah, a thread from July! "I imagine that must be a terrible life. These 'Xenobiologists' sound like most wicked people indeed..."

The women turned toward July, "No, I'm quite warm in fact."
The women frowned, "You're no fun," she sighed as she sat up straight, "Lilith, Seductress of the First Man," she rolled her eyes, "A young preacher gave me that, he didn't have much faith in his god after I met him." She grinned as she remembered the thought.
Tamiel said, reflectively, "ah, yes. I love how Hebrew rolls of the tongue." Then, with a smirk, he added, "but I presume 'Lilith' is not your true name, and you'll pardon me if I suspect the title is not entirely true." After thoughtfully tapping his chin, he continued, "no matter. Who you are is far more important than what, in my experience." As Lilith's wine arrived, Tamiel asked, "have you any interesting tales to tell? Surely, a being such as yourself must have done something worth speaking of."

"I do not know if wicked is the word," said July, "It depends on if life is preferable to being dead, if a living sample is better than a dead one. They had two choices and they decided to save me. Which is very kind, considering..."
"Teptation of what?" Asked July to the newcomer. These mythologies were not a part of his, and the xenobiologists didn't really think they were that important to educate him about.
Lilith smiled at Tamiel as she sipped her wine, twirling the glass a bit, "Well, my story begins in the 1830s. I was one of the young members to a religious order who worshiped Bast, an Egyptian cat goddess. There was a ceremony for the young girls such as myself at the time, we were to become candidates for receiving a share of Bast's power. I did get a share, but I was considered unlucky by the rest of the cult due to my gained powers," She flapped her wings a bit, "I became what the Lilith of mythology was known for, I'm sure someone like yourself would know."
She continued, "I was kicked out of the cult and spent a majority of my life hunting down those who succumbed to my seductiveness and as I grew older, I learned a few new tricks and some other things along the way," She paused a nodded her head, "Then came the twenty-first century, it made everything harder, but I got through. I also met a handsome young individuals who happens to work for the enemy of an alley of the goddess I once worshipped," she smiled at the thought.
"I hope to have him for my own one day."

Powers? Tamiel thought. Another thing his brother could ask about. No matter. "Wait," he said, suddenly curious. "You hunted down those you seduced? Or did I mis-hear you?" That didn't seem to follow, unless there was some side effect to sleeping with her that she had neglected to mention.

Tamiel nodded to show his understanding, and said, "ah. A different sort of hunt. A less intriguing one, in my opinion but to each their own. But what was so difficult about the twenty-first century? Given your rather crude taste in clothes, I would think it an improvement for you."
Tamiel glanced over at July. Did he have anything else he wished to say to him? No, not really. His brother would probably have continued investigating, but Tamiel no longer cared about the strange little man.
Don't be offended, Oh So Into Cats: it's just that Tamiel, by his very nature, prefers to deal with simple people, preferably ones easily driven to anger or pride. July doesn't seem to fit that profile, so Tamiel doesn't know what to do with him.
Avea turned to Steven, and, wanting to say something, said, "so, Doctor, where do you come from? We were just discussing that..."
"Well, how specific do you want me to be?" Steven replied. "My last location before coming here was in Nevada. That's in the United States of America, on Earth, just in case you didn't know."
Actually, they probably don't even know what Earth is. We've found other universes with humans in them, but never an exact parallel.
"Earth is a planet," he added. "Big sphere floating in space, if you don't know 'planet' either."
I'm going to assume that Avea, Ryan, and Vincent introduced themselves offscreen, since that would be somewhat tedious to write out.
His voice utterly deadpan, Tamiel said, "you have sex with people for money. And my next guess is you kill people for money... possibly by convincing them you're going to have sex with them. At the very least, I'm fairly certain you're not an accountant."
"Another one," Avea said, slightly exasperated. "Let me guess. You come from Earth, but you've never seen", she pointed at Vincent, "one of those, right? Even though he's also pretty confident he comes from Earth" She shook her head, said, "great. I'm surrounded by aliens." With that, she returned to her bacon sandwich.

Ryan grinned at Stephen. "Another Earthling? 'Bout time, I was starting to think I was the only one here. You definitely don't seem to be from my version of it, though, since where I come from Nevada's pretty much a crater." Ryan took a large bite out of his sandwich, then continued. "That was bombs, though, no magic or mad science. I'm Ryan Davidson, by the way. From DC."
Lilith laughed a bit, "No, I am a succubus, I have sex with people, just to have have sex with people. I'm summoned occasionally, but whoever summons me doesn't expect everything." She laughed at the thought of what she had been doing too those lonely and stupid enough to summon her, not knowing that they were gonna get the full experience.
"Sure, I've seen dragons," Steven said, "but only in fiction. Never really cared for the humanoid kind myself."
"Also," he added, "aliens? You certainly look human to me."
He turned to Ryan. "We dodged that bullet, at least. There's still a chance all Earth might wind up as a radioactive ball of rubble, but if it does, at least it won't be humanity dropping the bombs."
The fact that most of them seemed to be from some kind of Earth was a lot more intriguing then he let on. Apparently, whatever the Cosmic Cantina was, it probably wasn't linked to the known portal network. Interesting. Very interesting.
Avea said, "well, yes, I am human. But... well, this 'Earth' place is new to me. The name sounds sort of like the place where the Mauros — another culture from my world — say demons come from, but you're obviously not demons." She shrugged. "It's all new to me. Even," she pointed at the sandwich, "that. Clever idea." She was about to take another bite of the sandwich when she paused, and said, "wait, what's 'radioactive'? Never heard the word before."
Showing only academic curiosity, Tamiel said, "the 'full experience'? You make it sound exceedingly painful. Please, do tell."

"I am not used to things making sense anymore," siad July, "I'm used to there being other people to make sense of things for me. I'm just supposed to give tissue samples and try not to hurt myself." Which was actually a lot more difficult than it sounded for him.
