this thread is for all shows and movies in this medium that have characters that are a Complete Monster.

here's my list:

Jenner - The Secret Of NIMH. it's not just what he did to Nicodemus but that fact that he was totally OK with the idea of indirectly killing the Brisby children. all for power.

Red and Belladonna - the All Dogs Go To Heaven series. both did what they did For the Evulz. and Belladonna was worse because she didn't have a specific goal, it was just "EVERYTHING evil For the Evulz".

Steele - Balto. he valued his pride more than the lives of his team, his musher and a town of sick children.

Cruella Devill - 101Dalmations. she did not care about any life, human or animal. and her plans were more about the knowledge that something had to die to make the coat then the coat itself.

Dag the Coyote - Barnyard. read that film's YMMV page for the reasons.

Dr. Blowhole - The Penguins Of Madagascar. yes he's a Large Ham and has a somewhat understandable reason for being bad but he positively LOVES his evil. and Private of all characters calls him "pure evil".

Skymarshal Wayde - Voltron Force. where to start? just watch the episodes, "Wanted and Unwanted", "Hungry for Voltron" and "Clash of the Lions".

any others I can think of are probably really obvious.

scratch that last part. there's also Katrina and Captain Slaughter from the original Pound Puppies.

[up] IIRC, Katrina was played for laughs too much to be a Complete Monster. Captain Slaughter on the other hand, probably counts.

[up]

what about my other examples?

and another thing about Dr. Blowhole, he is only played for laughs as much as Meldar or Evil Jimmy, both of whom fit the Complete Monster bill.

and "An All Dogs Christmas Special" gives a new layer of evil to Belladonna. one that you might miss is a PUPPY in Heaven who knows who she is and refers to her as the "boogydog", that's some serious Fridge Horror.

Dr Robotnik (Sonic Sat Am): Far less comical and loveable than his games counterpart (though he does make the odd gag) and near void of redeeming qualities, later on anyway. His plan basically involved being the only sentient life left on Mobius. He doted over Cluck in the first season and could even be the slightest bit pragmatic, in the second season however Cluck disappeared and he basically evolved into a tactless dog kicker.

Aku (Samurai Jack) and Zordrak (The Dreamstone) are arguable examples, arguable since while the shows do depict them as pure evil, they do have a slightly more comical presence than the former example. Not to mention, like Robotnik, a lot of Aku's plans screw up because he can't resist being a complete sadist.

and there's also Sir Ram from Spider Man Unlimited. once when Lord Tiger calls him out on his blood lust, Ram calls Tiger out on his LACK of it!

even TUFF Puppy has a few of these. those would be R.I.T.A, Snowflake and Jack Rabbit. especially Jack since he was not played for laves other than some corny word play here and there.

[up] that doesn't count because the writers didn't intend it that way, he is simply Evily Affible.

[up] She pretty much imploded the universe on itself just to get a sea monkey in The Undersea World of Fifi! Not to mention what she did to Fifi in Out of Odor, and the fact that most of her "pets" are her freaking classmates (and some of them (Like Furrball) have been trapped for years by her), and she appears to enjoy torturing them!

I'm not sure Jenner from The Secret of NIMH qualifies as a complete monster; while he WAS portrayed in the film as a mustache twirler of the first order who practically dripped menace (Bluth films are seldom terribly subtle) his motivation seemed less a desire for power for its own sake and more that he felt Nicodemus' plan to move the rats to Thorn Valley would be disastrous. He didn't have the moral compass that, say, Nicodemus, Mr. Ages, and Justin had, given that he had no problem with stealing power (or anything else) from Farmer Fitzgibbons, and he was willing to kill to get what he wanted, but you can pretty much put all of his actions into the category of amoral pragmatism, rather than complete monsterdom. In his own way, he was trying to protect his people.

[up] what about where he implies he wants to wipe out the entire human race? this is almost definitely why he wanted the Stone.

[up]? That must be in a version I haven't seen; in the one I'm familiar with, he does show quite a lot of interest in the stone when he sees Mrs. Brisby with it close to the end, but never mentions it at all beforehand.

[up] because he didn't know about it yet. however in his first scene, he clearly tries to convince the other rats to wage war on humanity. and he wasn't concerned about the others, he just didn't like the idea of relocating, it wasn''t about the welfare of the other rats.

[up][up] and I think if Don Bluth wanted to portray Jenner as a Well Intentioned Extremest, he would have but he didn't.
