Hey,

I'm trying to upload an avatar. 15kb, 100x100, PNG. I'm getting an error message "unsupported file type". Are PNGs no longer supported for avatars? If so, what file types are supported now, and does this apply to other kinds of images?

Or is it just a problem on my end?

edit: attempted to upload after saving the same image as a jpeg and a gif, it failed and gave me the same message.

edit: was able to upload another (.jpeg) avatar successfully, which means something's probably wrong with the other image.

edit: recreated image from source, re-edited it, uploaded it with no problems. Only difference seems to be is that in my first attempt I took a screenshot for the original image, whereas in the second I saved the file. Unclear why this would make a difference, but there you go.

You have to upload all images from your own computer, that is, it has to be saved to your drive.

It was saved to my drive both times. The first time, I took a screenshot, adjusted its size, saved a copy to the avatars folder on my computer, modified it in GIMP (as I usually do), then tried to upload it.

It is possible that your file name had an extra space after the file extension. I just now fixed it to trim such spaces off.
