The Deathwatch are the finest warriors of the Imperium. They are our first defense against the Xenos scourge. They are the ones who lead the charge, and they are the ones who Hold the Line. They are to the Space Marines as the Space Marines are to the Imperial Guard. When a job absolutely must be done, The Deathwatch are the ones who do it. They decide the lives of trillions in their actions.

You, a Space Marine, the chosen of the Emperor, will be joining them. You may come from any one of the thousands of different chapters in the Imperium, with your own rivalries and friendships with other chapters. Perhaps you are a vicious Space Wolf, defiant of the customs of the Imperium and savoring the blood of your enemies as you crush their life. Perhaps you are a Dark Angel, guarding your secrets jealously against others and enduring your pain in silent fortitude. Or perhaps you are an Ultramarine, or a Salamander, or a Raven Guard.

It matters not. You are a Space Marine, and you have been chosen to serve the Deathwatch. You will help to save humanity from the Xenos hordes, and you shall serve the Emperor, in life and death.

So, in actual game terms, this is going to be a bit different than some of the R Ps on here. It'll be more combat-oriented, although the focus will still be on RP elements. However, the structure is going to be a bit different. You will take missions, I'll describe the overall situation and specialty gear available, and you guys will decide how you tackle it. For example, an Ork rok is heading towards an Imperial world. You could choose to join with an Imperial Fleet to blow it out of space long before it reaches the planet, you could do a stealthy infiltration of the rok and destroy it from the inside, you could prepare for a bitter ground battle on the planet's surface, or you could even just decide to save what you can, and then have exterminatus declared on the planet. To provide more structure to combat scenarios, we'll be using the Roll to Dodge system. Lets say a Assault Marine drops into a group of Tyranid Hormagaunts using his jumppack.

1- Your jumppack malfunctions in midair, having one thruster stop working and forcing you to crash-land in the ravening horde.

2- You land a short distance away from the nids, allowing you to engage in close combat but doing no damage.

3- You land on the edge of the nids, doing some damage and stunning them for the next action.

4- You land in the middle of the horde, doing large damage and stunning them for the next action.

5- You land with great force in the middle of the horde, destroying them, allowing for an extra action in the next turn.

6- You land in them and your jump-pack explodes, doing great damage to both them and you.

Character creation will look like this:

  • Name:
  • Chapter:
  • Age:
  • Specialty: (Tactical marine, Assault marine, Devastator marine, Librarian, Apothecary, and Techmarine)
  • Talents: (You can have two of these, to provide concrete bonuses in certain areas. For example, you could have "Brute Stength", which adds +1 to every roll that has to do with strength. Or you could have "Xenos Engineering", which would allow you to understand and operate many Xenos machines. Be creative!)
  • Personality:
  • History:

As a final note, please don't feel too constrained by the fluff. Our space marines don't have to be engines of war run on testosterone and blood. They can be more complicated than that. Rule of Fun and Rule of Cool are the two most important things here, for all matters.

So, questions? Comments? Interest?

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.
