Every time this comes up it makes me wonder why regular users can change the article associated with a topic, but only mods can change the other 'half' of the thread title.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Here's an idea: What about allowing users to edit a topic title, however instead of actually changing the title, it sends an automatic Mod Holler for the topic saying they want a new topic title? (Remotely analogous to the custom title tool — anyone can submit a custom title, and mods just hit approve/deny for the request)
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.This. Gah, I feel like an idiot.
It could save time for you in that it separates "hollers to change titles" from "hollers because there is dickery happening..."
I am now known as Flyboy.I'm confused: how does that save time? We still have to deal with them all. Moving the notification that a title change is needed or changing what it looks like doesn't do anything to change that we still have to look at it, look at the thread, and make the change.

What I was saying about "automatic Mod Holler" means exactly that — it doesn't necessarily require its own separate tool (like the Custom Title system is), it could piggyback on the normal Mod Holler system.
It's like the difference between launching to Discarded YKTTW versus hitting the "Discard" button — the end result is the same, but one is easier on users than the other.

I know that it can be done in other forums, but I'd like to ask if it can be done in forum threads here?
