- Name: Mary S. Lancer
- Gender: female
- Appearance: She has dark blond hair and eerie light blue eyes. Mary has a rather odd outfit, looking like a Nun's habit merged with a suit of medieval armor. The habit mostly underneath bright silver armor with glowing blue veins. The shoulder plates have a sword holster in each one holding one of her blades, there's another six sword holsters all coming out of her back plate, making a wing like appearance whenever she needs it. She wears gauntlets which are stream lined and with absolutely no villainous looking spikes. At the waist, she has a long string tied around, making her habit look more like a battle dress. Over that is a three point at the front chain mail tassel. Her grieve boots are in a similar style to the armored gloves.
- Character Summary: Oh yes, she would like you to think she's the squeaky clean Purity Sue, that everyone likes her, that all her ideas are right, and that anyone who disagrees is either evil or just not thinking right. She is not a clean individual at all. Inside of her perfectly, uncannily nice demeanor is an utterly vicious Knight Templar who is very, very good at breaking people, and then putting them back together. She holds the view that she should be trying to re-assert the dominance of the Church, and that everyone else outside her group is simply too lazy. A Bitch in Sheep's Clothing, she absolutely loathes people who just cannot be "influenced by the holy power" so easily. She does have a very fragile psyche resulting from (Freudian Excuse after this:) Her father had abused her physically and with an Agony Beam spell, locked her in a basement and "used me like a toy", mostly with new Blood Magic. She was rescued by Matthew's father, who put her with the church. Nothing went as planned after that. Her big aim is ostensibly to use Zack for something big.
- Powers: She would like to say that her powers are not magic, but are holy. That would be a lie too. Her powers are linked to swords she carries around, each is laced with Aetherium, a magical stone which, by her own request, was also inlaid into her bones. This gives her MASSIVE power, needless to say. Her many swords can float out and be wielded by her. The holsters on her back can give off streams of mana, making her look like an angel. Her main spells are Holy Annulment, Wrath of the Righteous, and Vengeance Lightfall. To elaborate in her words, "All my pain, all my hatred, all my righteous rage...Vengeance Lightfall uses that as the force behind the attack." The common result? Ludicrous Gibs. Very few people have mastered the spell, less like using it. Mainly because it forces her to endure flashbacks in order to further increase the power.
- Backstory: As covered up there, her life has not been particularly nice, and she is quite bitter about it, disliking people who use overt magic for their own needs or pleasure. She is in serious denial about those powers she has been using for the longest time. She is known in the Church as "The Iron Lady". She has been playing her cards very well in her time as a "holy warrior", and has advanced far in the hierarchy.
- Name: Ezekiel "Zeke" Arcenveil
- Gender: male
- Appearance: A rather young mage, he is more frail looking, but is actually rather toned. He has shaved his head down to a buzz cut, and has one green eye and one red eye, due to him making a pact with The Seer. Occasionally, his other eye will turn red. When this happens, run. He usually wears a long sleeved black shirt, a cape with a mind of its own, black jeans and steel toed boots. He has a scar on his back due to his troubled past.
- Character Summary: Zeke is one of the stronger mages out there, despite his age. He is an old friend of Zack's, having known his father and mother. Despite this, Zeke sees nothing wrong with acting as he does. While maintaining an Affably Evil persona, he is actually a cold, callous Manipulative Bastard as bad as The Seer was, highlighting the demon's influence. Zeke is power hungry and tired of being weak. He has a huge inferiority complex toward Matthew, and wants to prove himself by making himself and other Mages into Ubermensch. He HATES Mary Lancer, calling her any number of dirty words haphazardly lumped together whenever he sees her so much as on Television. Zeke despises elitists who are born with their power, as he says that such people don't even need to exert any effort. Due to that, he has endeavored to "purge" those who were born into great power.
- Powers: He can temporarily possess his arms or legs with demons, resulting in Combat Tentacles full of sanguine, eldritch looking toothy suckers on blade tipped tentacles. He can use magic to force himself to bulk up...by absorbing dead bodies. This results, temporarily, in a lot of faces that do NOT belong. This spells effect ends when he wants it to. He is an expert at ice and lightning magic. He prefers using it for a Touch of Death, either freezing someone's blood and organs, or electrifying them to death. And like The Seer, he can create crystal ball Aetherium bubbles which can be used to forcefully empower people. And yes, Zeke is a Blood Magic user, he can either stab himself and use his blood to empower his spells, or control people, or drain out someone's life, or maybe just boil blood with a touch.
- Backstory: This young Mage grew up ignored at best, heavily abused at worst by his purist parents who viewed his lack of great talent from the get go as a "birth defect". He was told and lectured to that he did not deserve to have such great brothers, who "graced him" with the "lash of the whip and bite of the knife." He eventually got tired of it, and made a Deal with the Devil, with The Seer. The Seer inhabited his eye, and granted him formidable magical might. He finally succeeded at winning against his brothers, whereupon they tried to kill him for overstepping the gap between their powers. Zeke killed them, following with his parents. He covered it up by using them for his Blood Magic, and proceeding to found his own little Magician's Circle called the Circle of the Black Thorn, which he is using to extend his grasp...only to run right into Mary S. Lancer. Now, both evil forces are getting ready to fight each other. His aim is to use Zack for a spell to create a "Magical Paradise" where only the powerful can remain.

Oh goodness, this sounds very interesting. I'll post a sign-up, but I don't think suddenly jumping in would be appreciated.
- Name: Blake Sienna
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: 5'8, not very athletic. 15 years old with an average build and dark skinned with brown eyes. Black hair with bangs protruding out of his orange engineer hat. Wears blue pants, orange shirt with dark orange sleeves and collar, orange gloves, and white shoes. Wears a comet necklace said to have been given to him by his deceased father.
- Character Summary: A teenager with a positive view on many things. Book smart, street dumb and is unfamiliar with things like "why are the butts on girls' chests attractive?" Not Distracted by the Sexy, but is flustered by it. Shy towards unfamiliars, speaks to familiars with ease. Slow to pick up on things, but can think fast in a fight.
- Powers: Illumination via light. Can project hard light barriers in the form of a shield or barrier. Can apply the barrier to body parts to give protection. Can also cast a limited enhancing magic that increases speed and only speed. Speed can be increased from slightly fast movement, to doing a Flash Step. He can only go in one direction until he hits a wall or something like it when he flash steps.
- Backstory: Grew up a normal child until he saw his mother murder his father flat out in front of him when he was eight. He was taken in by his friend's parents for the next two years until he suddenly fell into a coma. He missed four years of his life and is trying to catch up to all the things he missed.

mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's mean(I remember seeing this thread back when it was a mispost in the Anime subforum. Has it been that long already?
)
Couple of questions.
- Any room for one more PC?
- Had planned for a character as an Academy member, one who's not directly involved in the meteor incident, since it'd probably be the easiest way to jump in at this point. How much information would I need to know aside from what's already in the thread?
You wouldn't need to know much more.
The north and east wings are open to most. The Academy only recently started requiring people to carry visas. The west wing had been slowly restricted bit by bit until, just a week previous, it was sectioned off entirely. It was previously used for research into enchantments and the previous age of magic. Not much information was ever found regarding the latter subject, and what was found was never fully divulged to the public.
I'm perfectly fine with having your character involved with the Academy in some manner. It'd certainly make explaining why you're there easy.
Got it. Thanks.
EDIT: Okay, here goes. Hope you don't mind having an undead cleric on the team.
Name: Charles McCoy (Call him "Bones" at your own risk.)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Six-foot human skeleton in a lab coat. (And the expected dress shirt, pants and tie.) Blue glow in eye sockets. Age, naturally is unclear. Wears a small metal cross around his neck.
Character Summary: Charles's appearance is a little off-putting, but he's actually quite benign... most of the time. He's not above dry humour and sarcasm when deemed appropriate, of course, and does not suffer fools gladly. Most would consider him reasonably devout, but he likes to keep religious, scientific and magical matters separate. He's considered relatively old-fashioned by his peers, which in this context means that there are times when he'd rather rely on technology than magic.
Power(s):
- Charles is a lich, and the cross around his neck is his phylactery. Both are incredibly resistant to physical and magical damage, and as long as the phylactery remains intact, Charles can regenerate from any damage sustained... given enough time. For obvious reasons, he would rather not test the limits of this ability. Otherwise, he has the average strength and speed of a young man of moderate fitness.
- Charles is skilled in healing both via magic and conventional medical treatment (considered a soon-to-be obsolete art). His healing magic is limited to accelerating the body's own natural recovery processes, although it can reach incredible speeds, and requires direct contact. This ability is less effective and may even backfire on people with altered physiology, such as healing factors (and ironically, the undead). The other half of this ability is that he can reverse the process of healing and make living targets decay. As per all healers, he is sworn not to use this side of the ability and is disgusted by the thought.
- Charles also has a mastery of light magic, although he uses it for mundane purposes such as for illuminating a room or a convenient fingertip laser pointer. He rarely uses it for offensive purposes, never really having had a need to do so (in recent years, anyway).
Brief Backstory: Charles was a young doctor 10 years ago when the New Age of Magic began, and enrolled in the Academy of Magic's Natural and Medical Arts Department to further his studies. Unfortunately, he was killed in a mysterious explosion in the Great Library shortly after joining, the cause of which remains unknown to this day. Given the levels of magical energy released in the event, he Came Back Wrong, much to the horror of the attending staff.
He moved into research shortly after as patients weren't entirely comfortable with his appearance, and likes his job, although he does miss being able to talk to people without them running away in fear. He's also come to terms with the nature of his condition, although he's still far away from any concrete answers to how his physiology works.
Academy staff have become accustomed to the sight of a skeleton roaming the campus, and the more irreverent members of the faculty call him "Bones" - but never to his face, lest they find themselves on the receiving end of a skeletal Dope Slap.
Pertaining to the storyline, he should know Aisha - if she ever comes back - and may or may not find Kenneth familiar. He thinks Faust is a nutjob, will have heard of Cooper and Drake by name but not by contact. Also, he really doesn't know much about recent events aside from the increased activity in the Academy following the "meteor strike", and doesn't like the Council of Nine very much but can't exactly explain why.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Yes, yes, good.
Just to frame the current setting, the party is in the Grand Library on the third floor. Its night and the power seems iffy.
I find it easy to lose details like the time of day, so I'm reminding myself as much as anyone else...
Anyway, I like the character. Having a healer couldn't hurt either.
Yeah, you should definitely know Aisha (which may or may not be relevant in the future). The Faust bit is a perfectly impression. Yeah, so ok. We're all good.
Jump in however you see fit.
- Name: Hector Gibbs
- Gender: male
- Appearance: A tall and rather wiry and thin young man with shock white hair from when he first saw the Blessed Tear. He has red eyes, making him look rather like an albino. He is rather pale, fitting the rest of his appearance. He usually wears a black jacket, no shirt (he has a vendetta against shirts), black gauntlets which have black cloth gloves on the hands, and armor on the wrists and first half of the forearms. He wears black leather pants, steel toed boots, and he has a serious love for belts, having six of them trailing down each leg part of his pants, one around his bicep area on his right arm and two attached at the right shoulder, going from the front of his shoulder to the back. He has a dark scar on his back from when he was wounded by an assassin. His hair seems to be styled in a rather anime-ish style, all spiky and with two odd areas at the front spiked backward which are still black. When he is trying to be a scientist, he wears a typical little uniform, but he feels very uncomfortable with it.
- Character Summary: Hector Gibbs is a fanatic, having fallen in love with a magical phenomenon called the Blessed Tear, which is a very powerful phenomenon which causes odd fluctuations in dimensions. He tends to describe it like its a long lost lover, and that he is Yandere for it. He is ruthless in pursuing the Tear, having clashed with Matthew before. He is Affably Evil to an extreme, never losing that dopey and goofy eccentric attitude, even when he is doing something quite distasteful. He seems to be a Lovable Sex Maniac, gleefully pursuing anyone that interests him, male or female. He even flirts with Matthew on occasion.
- Power(s):
- Fuego: Hector specializes in distance magic, using a number of heavily powerful magical shotguns, using his magic to make them into powerful rail guns. He can make even more of them emerge from behind him and increase his fire power. (Fuego is the name of his shot gun.)
- Blizzard Fleet: An odd Kill It with Ice power, Hector can summon parts of a fleet of ships made of ice and strike with them at foes or fire freezing ice bullets from them at foes, which would freeze them solid.
- Deivald Crypt: Hector can summon the claws of the Eldritch Abomination Deivald to his hands, turning his fingers into segmented blades and the hands covered in armor. This increases his raw attack power, and each swing with the claws sends an invisible force at enemies.
- Brief Backstory: Hector was once just a normal kid until he saw the Blessed Tear, and wound up affected by it. He became so enamored with the thing that turned his hair white that he would do anything to bring it back. He is now working in the Academy as a scientist, trying to find out if there are any artifacts with links to his "beloved Blessed Tear."
- Name: Gantradies Valanderous Dracos
- Gender: Male
- Appearance:
- Character summery: Gantrades is, in his own words, "strange". whilst he is evasive on exactly WHERE he comes from, his lack of knowledge about the world and current affairs strongly suggest he came here from somewhere else. strangely, he seems to get along with magical creatures, Dracoforms especially, better than he does with most other bipeds, lending some creditability to his claims of "being raised by dragons. i swear! its true! that's how i ended up like this *gestures at left eye* i got involved is a family feud, and got myself eaten by Tiama-errr...never-mind, long story....err... did i ever mention that you have beautiful eye-arrgh!!". his claims would explain his ability to assume the form of a young silver dragon, albeit, an extremely clumsy, awkward dragons who, in an actual fight, is more of a danger to himself then the enemy. gantradies is erratic. He flips between complete silence and being a terminal motor mouth, though, rarely, when he isn't distracted, he CAN participate in a normal conversation. his "inventions" usually tend to do no more than explode, or cause amusing, but minor injury's to himself, although, rarely, he come up with something useful. that said, he has a fierce sense of both group and personal loyalty.
- Brief Backstory:
this is just a first attempt.. and my first attempt a joining a net RP, at that.... advice welcome.
Gantradies Valanderous Dracos (pronounced Dray-cos) PS: i know, i know. a dracofrom PC is potentially MASSIVELY overpowered. but, as i explicitly said, dumb luck aside, Dragon-Gant is near useless in a fight.....
PPS: ive been using variations of gants archetype for years..depending o the setting , his level of competency ranges form a total joke, to lethal joke charicter, to just plain lethal.... but, since i assume there isn't that much High-Technology available on this world, he'd probably be..well...if you accept me, well..... whatever happens, will happen. PPPS: sorry about the wall of text. PPPPS: also, goats

Also, while I'm glad to be accepted, now isn't exactly the best time, as I'm going to be rather busy. I'll still pop in when I can though, and I should only be busy from today (Tuesday,) through Thursday.
