And if that's not a set up for a Springtime for Hitler, I'll be honestly surprised.
Ah, so Dorothy has been volunteering for political stuff. Well, that's a good thing really. That means she hasn't completely lost touch with reality.
What happens in 3 weeks?
Elections.
She never struck me as that far out of touch with reality. Obsessed with achieving the kind of success that will end up as a political career, sure, and maybe to the point of flakiness — but that makes it 100% logical that she'd be volunteering. It's something that has to be on her CV.
By the way, am I right in thinking (and being a little amused that) these comics never mention the party affiliations of Robin or her opponent?
= Spindriver =According to the No Party Given page, so far it's been mostly clues but never stated outright.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."One probably doesn't want to give party names. Would make things a bit too political, when it is really not the point.
I mean, we all know what respective parties Manley and Robin represent, but as long as some amount of plausible deniability is maintained, it won't warp the story too much into a hit piece.
Ah, right, that part of Becky's character, where she's obsessed with the idea that Dorothy stole Joyce from her for some reason and that they're bitter rivals of some sort. The part of her character I really don't like and see no point in existing. Right. Didn't miss that part. Can we go see someone else now?
I love that part of Becky's character. She spends so much time being a fun friendly goofball so this sheer, unbridled jerkitude coming from her is really something and I really want Dorothy to finally fight back.
Anyway, holy crap is this going to backfire on Becky so badly.
Well on the upside this is probably giving Toedad an ulcer right now
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. This is just going to end badly for everyone involved.
Well, for one thing, I like Becky being mature enough to understand that trying to keep the ball gonig with Galasso is also a good idea for the sake of her resume. It's not going to work, because this whole thing will go down in flames soon enough, but I admire her for having that presence of mind.
So safe to say Becky didn't cave on any of her demands?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I think so too, though she didn't mention a new home to Dorothy in the last couple strips did she?
Yeah that was probably gentrification at work
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I hate gentrification so much. I want to rant, but I'll just leave it there.
What's this in aid of?
Well, Ruth is there to talk to Billie. Carla is there because she likes Lucy and is in the process of being really annoying to her.

So regarding the Becky story, and to be clear I'm not making a judgement on its quality by saying this, but I think a more interesting premise (and one we might even see) is Becky having to put her dignity and ideals on the line in order to maintain her tuition and home by continuing to advocate for Robin without her explicitly changing herself.
I dunno, I just think Becky should struggle more.

I expect her to struggle in this coming plot. She's being thrust into a job that many adults would find intimidating, after all.
Oh God! Natural light!
I think that might have just been a last panel joke where Robin attempted to appear tough.
