I think the old version of the show is just as underrated as the new version. the new one is better in a lot of ways but this one was good to. the first season was So OK, It's Average bordering on So Cool Its Awesome. and the quality of the second season sometimes managed to be So OK, It's Average too.

The only saving grace this show had was Captain Manslaughter and they took him out in later seasons. Everything else was typical 80s fare.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior

This show sucked. End of my review.

for me, the story was good enough most of the time. and I think the story is the most important think in any piece of fiction.

to clarify my opinion a little more, the entire first season was So OK, It's Average. as for the second season, two episodes were So OK, It's Average to a lesser extent, two episodes were So Bad Its Horrible and the rest of the episodes where So Bad, It's Good. and the movie? I never saw it and based on what I've heard about it, probably won't.

not saying you were trying to take a shot at me or anything but what exactly did you mean?

I only saw the Nostalgia Critic review of the movie, but I recall he gave a nice little summary of the series and how the movie messed it up.

the Nostalgia Critic said the show was messed up to him too. but I think he only saw a few episodes and was un-aware of the combination Alternate Continuity and Seasonal Rot.

if nothing else, this show is a Guilty Pleasure for me. and I still say for what it was, the stories were OK.

I'm pretty sure that I used to watch this when I was a kid, but I have, like, NO memories of the show whatsoever.

[up]OK, I know this show is by no means a classic but it isn't terrible.

I wonder if the new version didn't exist, this one would be judged a little better.

[up] Don't feel bad. This new one isn't as well-accept as that new MLP series we all know about by now is... Though I still wish it was. It aint that bad.

Still, sorry if I struck a nerve. This is, after all, a to each his/her own thing.

If anything, the new version is gonna have more people praising the old one. If it weren't remade, people would just look back on the old show as a cheap commercial.

maybe that's how I feel. I adore Lucky and the Shelter 17 crew but I don't want to forget about the old gang.

^The old series wasn't great. But now that there's a new series to compare it to, people might start getting nostalgic about the old one.

[up] I'm still going to like the new one more, but that's just me. However, with other series (I'M NOT SAYING NAMES, or we'll be here a while), what you say DOES ring true. Nostalgia truly is a dangerous thing if left uncecked...

I liked this show, but I was a very little kid back then so I don't completely remember all the details of the show. I did have some Pound Puppies toys. I had a grey one a brown one and a dark brown one. I also had one of the larger sized ones, whose nose broke off. I also had a Pound Purry, which was the cat equivalent of the toy.
