If you die, you can have a threesome with me and Bunny when we get there.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Tendo, I know we haven't talked in a while...but I wanted you to know that you are one of the bravest and most awesome people I have had the chance to talk to.
To deal with the cards you were dealt, I honestly don't know if most people (including myself) would be able to work through all that. But you did. Reading this thread, I'm glad you have had a good life so far. You have accomplished your dreams, and it seems you have lived happily because of that. Please continue to live happily, and never give up on anything or anyone you care about. I also sincerely hope you get to meet Poison again. I know you both care about each other a lot.
I hope you pull through and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I totally hate my avatar. Just saying.Could just be routine screening, I guess (not sure what the usual practice is over there). At least they're confident that you're probably not floridly infectious, or they'd never have let you leave.
Also, I know what you mean about the PICC siting. It's always the tiniest things that drive you to distraction. (But try to get sleep whenever you can. Don't stress yourself out even more than you are already, okay?)
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Thank you, Dark I appreciate that and it means a lot. -hug-
Py, I'm going to have to find some weird position to sleep in. I have a mesh cover over the PICC so it stays in place while I sleep...I just dunno how I'll sleep, since I do it on my left side...which is where the PICC is.
It'll be a lot easier than when it's at the bend though. I'll be doing my first antibiotic in 40 minutes, then I'm hitting the hay.
I'm in my TMNT t-shirt, boxers, and pajama bottoms. I have my pillow to cuddle and pretend it's Poison. I have my binaural beats machine.
I want some effin' sleep.
Plus tomorrow, Skyrim! =D
Tendo, I'm so sorry you're going through a decline. I hope it gets better, and I really admire you for being as positive as you are. I don't think I would have the strength to keep fighting and dreaming after all that you've been through. Best of luck to you, and I do hope you get to see Poison again. The two of you deserve to be happy together.
So far so good. I had my dressing for my PICC changed. They gave me a new head and new tape and just...ugh. They cleaned it and the new dressing is so nice and I don't have any annoying tape and it's so comfortable. ~_~
Tuberculosis test came back negative("It's not raised. It's not even firm. It's like the most negative a negative test result could be.") and I also found out that since January, I've lost 30 pounds just by dieting.
PICC lines kinda suck; my wife had to have one in for about a month when she got a huge infection on her lower back that they had to cut out — apparently it was one of those nasty antibiotic-resistant virulent strains. She had a hole in her back the size of a softball when they were done. They were pumping in IV vancomycin through the line. She did say it sucked less than constant I Vs, though.
A brighter future for a darker age.

You know what the doctor said?
"Come back Monday so we can write that it's negative."
I think it's just where I have CF, therefore a lower immune system, and there was that recent scandal where a hospital had TB spread without anyone knowing. They just gave me a test, it made this huge blister, shrunk to nothing in about half an hour, and they're going to read it Monday. It must just be a routine thing they're doing now.
They also said I might have pneumonia. It's a strong possibility, but it could also be the regular mucus plug. A different doctor came in saying "do you have these symptoms?", gave me a weird look, looked at my chart, and I heard him mumble "Where the hell do they get this is definitely pneumonia?"
One thing with this PICC is that it's in my shoulder. The others were at the bend of the arm. They used an ultrasound this time to do it. You have NO idea how much easier it is to type and play games and, most importantly, wipe my rear after I take a dump. =/
I also had a nice shower that made me feel better.
Oh, and I'm on two antibiotics. 9 AM and 9 PM for one, the others are at 8:00 AM, 4:00 PM, 12:00 AM. So my sleep will be out of whack for about two weeks(especially since I have to lay out the 8, 4, and 12 medicines an hour before I take them so they come to room temperature) but it's still better than staying in that nasty, germ-ridden hospital.
