I'm for giving this an Example Sectionectomy. Too much complaining. A lot of the examples aren't even about previews, they are about project development announcements. Many of the example overlap or are duplicates of They Changed It, Now It Sucks! and Ruined Forever.
Nah. It's just the opposite of And The Fandom Rejoiced so no much problem here.
Title sounds like Better Than It Sounds meets Never Trust a Trailer. Actual trope, from what I can pull out of the less-than-clear description, is either pre-release Hype Backlash, or complaining AS A RESULT OF THE PREVIEW! Is this even worth keeping?
I'll throw a vote in for chainsawing the examples. Every second one references people yelling about Ruined FOREVER.
I'm changing my vote to cutting this page. It feels like Ruined Forever / They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, But More Specific, and not in a way that's useful as a page. I feel that complaining-related Audience Reactions are way over-troped on this site and this is another useless page in that bunch.

The reaction is legit (not waiting even for the show to start to complain), but the examples should go.
Then again, what about In-Universe examples?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I agree that this reaction does tend to happen, but I am pretty sure that Komodin is right about there not really being many in-universe examples of this.
I can support no longer having examples for Tainted by the Preview because as far as I can tell they are at best complaining about complaining. I would be interested to hear reasons why we should keep them though.

I read through the examples. The only example I felt the want to save was the responses to the complaints about a rainbow in Diablo3 (adding more rainbows, an analytical response to why the complainers were wrong, and the image for Lighter and Softer. The bottom one).
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Sectionectomy is fine by me.

Do it, leave a link to this thread in the edit reason, and on the discussion page, and Holler for a thread lock when it's done, please.

Locking up. Nice job.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.

For the past couple of days, I've been observing this page and noticed that the page is full of natter, justifying edits, whiny Complaining About Complaining, etc. Normally, I would just clean all that nonsense up and move on to what I do best here. However, I noticed that, not unlike a few other pages, this page just seems to attract this sort of things by the very topic it's covering. When I brought this up in the Natter Alert thread, I was offered two possible solutions to this dilemma: to limit the examples to in-universe examples, or to give the page an Example Sectionectomy. So... what should we do with this page?
Personally, I think the In-Universe Limiting wouldn't work too well; I can't recall any works I've watched/read/played that used this trope with its characters as the reacting audience.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.
