When clicking the button on Internet Explorer to go back to a previous page, I need to click 2-3 times before I can actually go back. The problem only happens on TV Tropes, so I don't think something's wrong on my end (although I've discovered that it doesn't happen in Firefox.) The problem only started today.

I have seen this happen before when an ad tries to do something weird and it sticks itself in my browser history as an independent page load. It happened a lot when I was using IE — hasn't occurred in Chrome yet.

It still happens in Chrome.

Just click that little arrow tab near the backspace to go farther back.

In Chrome, Right Click the back button, then just choose the page you want.

I know how it works. I'm saying I have not had the issue of an ad trying to load itself as a separate history entry since switching to Chrome. The issue itself happens only rarely anyway, so I don't know if it's browser specific.
