Well, AFAIK it already doesn't work for adding new wicks.
I'm kind of reluctant to outright break existing wicks done that way, though, as people are already really crappy about not bothering to fix broken wicks and formatting. However, either creating some kind of highly-visible indicator that the link needs de-ptitling, or at least fixing the "Related To:" bug would be nice.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind a nice wick-cleanup project in general, though. I like doing formatting and spelling cleanups whenever I edit a page, in addition to changing moved wicks and adding examples or whatever, and there's a lot of mess. Everything from ptitles and manual custom titling that's no longer necessary, to weird stuff like [[Main/TropeName Trope Name]] or even [[TropeName Trope Name]] that just makes me scratch my head. But at least a drive to fix ptitles would be nice.

Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)I'd also prefer something that won't let you use a ptitle on a page that doesn't do indexing. Because that's never supposed to happen. Maybe make it do it like YMMV?
Fight smart, not fair.

So that [=~ doesn't do anything. It's really annoying to see that, making it easy to directly link to ptitles was a mistake.
