Something along the lines of shooting magically enhanced super-bees out of his arms.*
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyGood idea. Should I go with a glove or do it Ant Man style with a headpiece of some sort?
They'd both work pretty much the same, but it's really more of a stylistic choice.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyHere are my two characters Saturn~
- Name: Christine Schrimsher
- Age: 18
- Gender: Female
- Race: Human
- Appearance: Shoulder length light brown hair, bright and honest green eyes and a pretty innocent looking face. She is just a little shorter than average with a slim build and a small chest.
- Personality: A naive, honest and hardworking girl from a high raking noble family. She is a little shy with first social encounters though she can grow serious during official duties.
- Weapon(s): Twin Pistols.
- Magus Gear: Ability to control elements. Right now only Oxygen, Hydrogen and Helium with her guns holding the system to to act as catalyst for these effects.
- Biography: A daughter born of a high standing family, she has just barely graduated from the Academy after a few good accomplishments in the physical areas of the curriculum being almost completely eclipsed by some truly miserable grades. Due to this she has barely graduated as a cadet with a partner.
- Name: Rebbecca Skylark
- Age: 20
- Gender: Female
- Race: Elf
- Appearance: Long straight black hair, sharp blue eyes. Rebbecca is taller than average, with an athletic build and a mature appearance to go with her cool demeanor. As expected of an elf she has long ears.
- Personality: No nonsense, dedicated and highly loyal. Rebbecca puts her best into everything though she lacks ambition. She's a quiet person, who puts a lot of thought into personal dignity.
- Weapon(s): A thin futuristic longsword that doubles as a laser rifle. In its regular shape it looks like a plain silver colored blade made almost entirely out of a single piece of metal, the only exceptions being the guard and the pommel. The thin blade suddenly widens into a vaguely circular shape at the base, forming the guard of the blade. In the middle of this circle there is a light blue screen which glows a pale blue color. In the rifle mode, the blade splits evenly in the middle both side separating an inch or two while remaining parallel and joined by the guard. This becomes the barrel of the weapon, in which the upper half of the blade move back a little. The pommel of the gun bends downwards, thus forming the grip for the weapon. The blue screen and the mechanism within it power the rifle and provide the ammo for its blue laser.
- Magus Gear: Her powers reside in controlling and using electricity and at higher levels magnetism. The source of her electric powers come from a pair of fingerless gloves which help her focus the electrical currents.
- Biography: A girl who graduated at the Academy with fairly high grades about a year ago, however, due to her bluntness and the low standing of her family she was unable to obtain the work she graduated for. She keeps trying to gather the eye of someone interested in her skills and meanwhile lives working as a cook in a restaurant.

- Name: John Hartford
- Age: 24
- Gender: M
- Race: Halfbreed Gorilla Beastkin/Human
- Appearance: John has his father's face: a very brutish, smashed-in, gorillalike face. He has dark red hair that spikes up and back, as well as fur ringing his wrists and ankles. He has very straight, direct posture and stands about 6 feet tall. Despite this he always wears very nice, well-fitting suits that leave room for these fur patches.
- Personality: John prefers to be the voice of reason most of the time, the Super Ego, if you will. He prefers stealthy covert ops or discussion to open gunfights, and even when engaged in a gunfight prefers to curve bullets and stick to cover. When people start acting irrational or try to overrule him, though, John has a tendency to flip out and start hooting and slamming his fists like his father.
- Weapon(s): A standard heavy SMG, similar to an MP 5, with some... slight modifications. It actually has the barrels of eight SM Gs, arranged in a wheel with the magazines sticking out and a grip on the bottom, not unlike the petals in a flower. This design has good stability, but the bullets spread largely at random; this is intentional on John's part. Despite being a two-handed gun, his inherent monkey-ness allows him to carry and shoot it one-handed, holding his Magus Gear in the other. The laser mode creates a shot that reflects off of flat surfaces.
- Magus Gear: Despite being a gorilla-man, John mainly focuses on magic for his Magus Gear. He also use this to draw portals, either man-sized(which take awhile to charge and require end portals to be drawn manually) or small circles which he normally fires bullets into; these smaller ones have several out-portals, which have to be drawn manually as well. In other words, John can draw Doorway A, and then Doorway B which is connected to A. Or, he can draw Circles A, B, C, and D, fire bullets into A and have them come out in B, C, and D.
- Biography: John's father was a soldier in a literal Gorilla war, his mother was a particularly durable medic. They fell in love as he was having his wounds tended to, got married, and had John a year later. John's father was always around, a real role model for him. John played soldiers, secret agents, and overall wanted to help his country. When he played with his friends, he was always the one who took this seriously, like it was the actual way he was going to prove himself to the recruitment officers. Once he became of age, John immediately applied to the Academy, where he has been educated on the art of Spacial Inflitration.
Elves aren't the only ones. Genetic engineering is very progressive, and on about the same plane as cosmetic surgery is today. I didn't think about it, but I suppose there are bug beastkin. Small, but anthropomorphic, and they speak. You could do that, or you go do someone who is half-another race/half bee.
Special Snowflake only applies to the ones who always talk about how special they are, negatively or positively. If you don't make her specialness a big part of her character, it isn't a big deal. I believe someone else I know wanted to make a rat beastkin. And we will be meeting plenty of beastkin.

I have two ideas for backstory:
A.The test-tube baby product of a bizarre and unnatural romance between a human and a honey bee Beastkin.
B.The product of a genetic experiment attempting to create a race of honey bee/humans that would act more intelligently and respond more readily to commands.
And both of them are terrible.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyI know, I really should stop doing that. Anyway, here we are:
- Name:Worker , Samantha Willow
- Age:19.
- Gender:Female.
- Race:Halfbreed Honey Bee Beastkin/Human.
- Appearance:Worker stands at around 5'6. Her pale skin is hard and rough, with occasional patches of black and yellow fuzz around her arms and stomach. A pair of wings juts out of her back, though they're useless for anything but gliding. She lacks a specific eye color, since hers are large, compound orbs. When enraged, her mouth sometimes splits into a set of slobbering, insectoid mandibles. A small stinger juts out of the small of her back, also useless.* Her hair is black and cut short, for the sake of convenience.
- Personality:Worker's most prominent quality is her sense of loyalty. When given orders, she'll follow them to the letter and always sticks up for her friends. However, she also has no sense of self-esteem and is incapable of asking for favors or taking command. Worker tends to take a more active approach when it comes to potential conflicts.
- Weapon(s):A dagger with a serrated blade.
- Magus Gear:Worker's Magus Gear uses her inate ability to produce pheromones and amplifies it, allowing her to control a specialised swarm of magically enhanced bees. The swarm consists of around fifty or so bees. More may be added to the swarm, but the extra members are physically taxing to Worker and thus make the swarm less effective as a whole. They're usually used as a distraction, though their stings deliver a paralytic toxin if they can manage to get past armor. The swarm is controlled via a glove on Worker's left hand, using subtle gestures to control pheromone output. It's not very comfortable, but discomfort has never really been an issue for Worker.
- Biography:Worker is an unusual case, to say the least. The product of a genetics experiment attemtping to make a human/bee hybrid that would act as individuals and be more responsive to orders. After all, most bee Beastkin colonies would most likely be loathe to give up their honey to outsiders and normal bees aren't intelligent enough to respond to commands from their keepers. After several failed and rather grotesque attempts, Hive 4-E was produced. A group of fourty bee-humans led by a Queen, Hive 4-E seemed to be a success until one of the Drones broke out of captivity and killed two scientists with his bare hands before being subdued. After that, all members of Hive 4-E were released into the world. The younger members were put up for adoption.
Worker was adobted by a well-meaning elf couple at the age of twelve. While the elves cared for her, fed her, clothed her, they would never compare to her life in the Hive, at least in her eyes. Eventually, Worker left for the Academy in the hopes that they would provide the lifestyle that she needed. It was, after all, a military academy.
And there we go. Feel free to point out any errors I might have made.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyOh, and due to her biology, and the setting of the RP, she would actually look something more human-like like this.
But less stylized of course.
Other than that, she's perfect, and I love her Magus Gear.

In the emptiness of space, many strange and mysterious things happen. And because that space is so empty, no one ever finds out about them. But there are powerful and dark things happening, that will soon threaten the existence of the entire universe.
There is something that happens to the darkness of space, and no one knows how. It is given form. The essence of that emptiness is made corporeal by some natural occurrence. These monsters take many forms, often cartoonist, and with many different abilities. They can appear anywhere there is emptiness in space, and they are attracted to both light…and life. These monsters are known as The Dark. But they aren’t a huge problem…just yet.
Thousands of light years away, humans have made contact with the other races that populate the system. These races have taught them the art of Magus Gear, combining technology with magic. This power has spread their societies far. Now, these races exist in a single system of planets know as Orion’s Bow. In the middle, a super massive planet known as the Progressive Academy of Magic. It is an entire military academy dedicated to training those who go there the ways of protecting the peace of using magic and technology, and the unity of the races. Many people of all the races live on this massive school planet. It is the pinnacle of technology and magic, and it has a large population that do not go to the academy, but are still regulated by it’s council rules.
Two young cadet of this academy have just graduated, and they are trusted to find a team. The team that will be with them to the ends of the universe. It is their goal as protectors of Magus Gear. The missions they and their team will go on will be dangerous, rewarding, and probably even more.
The Dark aren’t even an issue yet. Most people don’t even know about them. They have their own problems, like racial tension and overpopulation to deal with.
So this is Magus Gear. A little Space Opera fantasy idea I had. Since this will be a very special RP driven by character interaction, fighting, and development, the sign ups will be highly selective.
There are four key races, each with their own main planet, but we will be starting the RP on the Academy Planet.
If there is anything confusing about the character creation that you don't fully understand, just make your character and we will work together, use it as a base and make sure everything is just fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
