To me, the only consistently good Beatles album has to be Abbey Road. I like some of the songs in other albums, yes, but I feel that as albums they are not as great as, say, Exile on Main Street or Quadrophenia.
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.Sgt Pepper is an album that I'm very mixed about. for one hand, it is pretty innovative and has pure musical genius. OTOH, there are some songs in there that I feel that are not really that enjoyable past their innovative value. For every "A Day in the Life" and "With a Little Help from My Friends" there's a "Within you without you" or a "She's leaving home"
Are those bad songs? Fuck no. They're amazing songs, generally enjoyable and genuinely well composed, but I feel that they're not as powerful as they could be, yannow?
That's pretty much how I feel about The Beatles, really. Amazing, innovative band with great, great songs, but with the problem that their music is too focused in being different from its time instead of being enjoyable.
But hey, if it's your thing, more power to ya. There are far worse bands out there than them.
I'd say that applies to the Jones-era of the Stones, but the band became more album-focused after they got Mick Taylor on board and let Keith Richards become the creative leader of the band. Which leads to my favorite album of all time: Exile.

Okay, two of them are mediums rather than series, but the basic idea still stands.
There's no justice in the world and there never was~Final Fantasy XIII. It may not be a traditional ff game but it is still a great game in it's own way. Be flexible for once. (I notice that the Final Fantasy fanbase is very hard to please.)
Also, I loved Pushing Daisies. That show ended way too early.
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.- Deftones (flawless)
- Godzilla (the only flaws being a low budget during the 70s and a confusing time travel plot in the 90s)
- Rob Zombie's Halloween films (really flawed, but H2 is the best in the series)
- Scott Pilgrim vs The World (since I did defend it on multiple occasions on this website)
- Turok (because it has Native Americans, dinosaurs, the future, demons, aliens, etc.)

Are you saying that "A Day in the life" is the song that isn't enjoyable past it's innovative value or "Within You Without You" is? I mean either way I disagree, because those are my two favourite songs on that album, but still.
I wouldn't agree that it's not enjoyable past it's innovation value, but my perspective is kind of weird, considering I'm a John Zorn fan (I really need to get around to making the John Zorn Page).
I will agree that the Beatles albums function better as a collection of great songs than cohesive albums though. I still have no Idea why "Back in the USSR" is on the white album.
Of course not, Chicago Transit Authoriy
is.
I can murder you over the internet, yannow.
^^ While I disagree, I'm willing to admit that it's just an opinion.
And for the record, I meant that in "A Day in the Life" was pretty enjoyable.

Sure, if it was on one of their other records, but it just sounds weird to me on the white album.
That's fair enough. Agree to disagree and all that. I figured you meant "A day in the life" was pretty enjoyable, given that your gave it a 9/10 in the Rate the song above you thread, but I was just checking to make sure.

Fuck it, the whole movie. @__@
