Hmm... Could I have a try?
Name: Hikaru Kobayashi
- Age: 15
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Hikaru is an average teenage girl in all sense of the words. Not too slim, not too fat. Not ugly, not pretty, but has a sort of nondescript cuteness. She does take pride in her waist-length jet black hair, though.
- Magical Girl/Boy Costume and Staff Appearance: Her makeover is the complete opposite of what a magical girl was supposed to be like - a panoply of half-plate over red tunic that was almost too heavy for her to even walk in. The wings were there, and on second look she realized that it was not a pair of fluffy angel wings, but rather a wooden pair of cavalry decoration of Polish make and design. She had a staff, or rather, what a kopia lance would remotely pass as, and a curved szabla for sidearms. In short, like this
◊.
- Personality: Optimistic, easy-going and dreamy, Hikaru is decidedly younger than her age in demeanor and attitude. Even her dream was average and mildly childish - she wanted nothing more than to become a magical girl, take up then mantle of power against evil monsters and save the day while looking fabulously stylish.
- Brief History: Hikaru Kobayashi is an average teenage girl, being an average student in an average middle school with no real talents to speak of, which is to say there are thousands more like her in the whole of Japan. She was also born into a relatively normal family in the city with no childhood trauma whatsoever. She's got a nice name, a generally pretty face (or so she claims), and even the poses worked out, should that day come.
- Transformation Trinket: A medalion that looks like this
◊.
- Abilities: Hikaru's Polish Winged Hussar form has three abilities:
- Ogniem i Mieczem (With Fire and Sword): Turns her cavalry szabla into an Imperial Prussian-style zweihander on fire. The weapon retains its standard weight for the duration of the transformation (which is to say, several minutes)
- Potop (Deluge): Hikaru will, by using this move, force herself to relive the worst moments of Polish history
. In other words, for all purposes she would feel the complete, undiluted pain of excruciating death, chosen randomly among any of the millions of Polish deaths during the period in question * and will be disabled until the end of the battle. In return, all her allies will receive a small boost/rejuvenation.
- Pan Wolodijowski (Colonel Wolodijowski): Summons * Hikaru's Mysterious Protector, Colonel Wolodijowski, in his full Polish Winged Hussar setup, complete with half-plate, Kopia lance and a mighty charger. In this form he will carry out exactly one swooping charge at very high speed with couched lance that, owing to his nature, can hit flying targets. If, however, for some plot-related reason the Colonel cannot join her in battle, the move is wasted.
If this is unacceptable, please do tell me what I can improve on. I am sure we can work out something.

Support Taleworlds!Alright, once I get the other two G Ms on board with it, the RP will be starting. Which means expect it today. I'll update this thread with an annoucement of when it starts, as well as providing a link to the discussion and RP threads.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and do that.
Edit: And it's up.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."So for the time being at least, Rei is alone in her dark magical girlness. Which... Kinda fits the whole dark magical girl thing, I guess. It's nice to know that she'll have some company at some point, though.
Hmmm... I'm not sure whether to keep going with this non-dark magical girl idea or not, as it's turning out not that great, ahah. It's a big mess, really. I'm a little tempted to try another dark magical girl, to be honest, but I don't want to seem like I'm hogging all the spaces for myself. >.>
Gog dang...when I saw this absolutely epic title in the Discussion-section, I knew this would be relevant to my interests...question if it's still open for Sign-Ups? I'd like to try a Miko-variant or something...
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Awesome! I'll get an SU up later tonight.
This one might be a little radical, but I'll give it a try. A Magical Girl, Magical Boy, and Dark Magical Boy in one.
Name: Madoka Liu
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Short but with rigid posture and graceful movements. Thin and bony for her age, with a small and flat body type across the board. Her eyes are pale blue, with the iris almost blending into the whites of her eyes. Her hair is also bleached white, cropped short and tied off into a bun. Has Chinese blood, which shows in the sharpness of her facial features.
Costume and Staff Appearance: Her costume takes the form of a Qipao, white with black trim, and her eyes glow brilliantly with white light. Her staff is simple, mahogany wood and blunted at both ends with no decoration.
Personality: Strict and authoritarian to others. Has a self-righteous sense of duty and justice and insists that others act in the same manner- always acting like she has some sort of clout with which to compel others to obey her commands. Highly intolerant of those who draw her ire, and will treat them with an icy disposition. All the while however, she is a good person at heart and takes it upon herself to always answer 'the call'.
Abilities: Manipulates light as a physical object. Can form barriers of light, beams of light, and can manipulate the metaphorical 'light of the soul', reinforcing and healing her allies and herself by cleansing them of darkness.
Name: Madoka Liu
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Handsome and lean, with a strong but not imposing body. His eyes are a dull blue as well, but unlike his female self they are distinct. His hair is jet black, short and well kept. Compared to his female self, he has softer and less intimidating features, though his eyes still hint at his Chinese linage.
Costume and Staff Appearance: His costume also takes the form of a Qipao, though this one is instead black with white trim and tends to be worn more casually with fewer buttons done than his female self. Also wears a conical straw hat and even chews on a reed most of the time. His staff is more embellished than his female self, made of wood with a reddish tint and with a golden clawed hand at one end.
Personality: Laid back, easy going, and lazy to the extreme. He prefers casual affairs and gets along with others very easily in comparison to his female self. Humbles himself in comparison to others and never treats anybody with disrespect. However, he is also a treacherous man whose self-interest takes precedence over goodwill, and will always try to manipulate a situation to suit him, or not intervene at all if he feels it unnecessary. In addition, he is quite fickle and prone to changing his mind.
Abilities: Manipulates darkness as a physical object. Far more offensive in it's use than light, with darkness tending to smother and strangle and crush objects. Able to mask his own soul's darkness and induce it in others, weakening their resolve and corrupting their spirits.
Brief History: Madoka was born to a Chinese father and Japanese mother, a boy at first. His past was relatively easy and nice, and he prided himself on his ability to stay cool and calm no matter the circumstances. At roughly 15 however, Madoka began to grow dissatisfied with his life, wondering if there was something important that he was missing in his easygoing attitude. He began to take out his frustration in creative projects, which ultimately resulted in him dividing his mind into two, with one half containing all the new emotions and thoughts that irked him and one remaining 'perfect'. He was satisfied with this set up, though he never expected anything serious to come of it.
Transformation Trinket: A cheap yin-yang ring on his/her left finger.
Abilities: The shift between his/her two selves is a very random and often inconvenient process. Each will begin to act more like the other until a certain point where a transformation occurs.

Okay, I finally found the time to create a profile. Time to type it up:
- Name: Takeshi Yamamoto
- Age: 15
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: An half-American with black-brown hair and dark blue eyes. His blended features makes him appealing yet strange-looking. 5'11'', with a lanky frame.
- Dark Magical Boy Costume: Intially, a black sleeveless shirt, black baggy pants, and a dark cape. He also has fingerless gloves, ropes as gaunlets, and tall-soled boots.
- Staff Appearance: The staff is a six feet tall black shiny rod. It has a pointed end, and a round top. A black coil is wrapped around it, with both ends open.
- Personality: Takeshi is quite outspoken yet troubled. One moment, he may be chilling with the crowd, and another, he's crouching in the corner deep within his mind. His level of emotions can be a little polarizing, but he attempts to restrain them. He is intelligent, but he tends to not show it.
One of his quirks is the tendency to bring a bit of white elastic rope around and wrap it around a part of his body, usually an arm or a leg. However, it's not unheard of in high-stress situations that he brushes his neck with it. Since the rope is his security blanket, touching it is a bad idea. - Brief History: Rope has save Takeshi more than once. When he was two, and still living in America, he accidently fell off a dock. However, a net caught him, and kept him from sinking into the sea. His family moved to Japan when he was four so his father could work with a prestigous company.
When Takeshi was eight, he was kidnapped after witnessing a murder in the company. He is bound, but manages to escape. In order to escape death, he uses the rope he was tied with to catch hold of his kidnapper and strangle him. While the kidnapper didn't die, he received trauma that put him in a wheelchair for life.
Takeshi was never the same.
Takeshi only has one sibling: Sayu Yamamoto. She is a naive Genki Girl that is perfectly, completly, well-adjusted. She could freak out at times though. * - Transformation Trinket: A six-feet-long black harder rope.
- Abilities: Takeshi gains two powers:
- Bind: He can cast dark coils to wrap around objects and people. He can then move them around, or strangle them. However, the range the ropes go is up to eight meters, and they fade after four minutes.
- Restrain: He can also form a forefield, a ten-foot sphere around an area. The surface is dark blue and translucent. While it can block attacks, it also blocks off air, so the target can suffocate. The forcefield can't be taken down until it's broken. It's not too much effort, but mundane attacks have little effect on it.
Tell me if I have to change anything. Takeshi's "Restrain" power can easily go. I just want to play with forcefields.

With all these guys coming along I don't think I can create my magical boy right now...maybe I can create a Dark Magical Girl to balance the numbers (I was going to do that anyways...)
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

Also note, this will be starting somewhat soon.
Signups will remain open indefinitely, even once the RP begins.
