He didn't seem that bad.

It wasn't a Diane Keaton-level meltdown, at any rate.

Indeed. Although I won't begrudge someone their due name recognition, I do hope that voters are choosing her because she'll make a good congressperson, not because she's Colbert's sister.

she got the Colbert Bump

good luck to her.

(if she runs for president, and WINS, that would be truly epic)

Where was that black dot from yesterday's show from?

My guess would be The Lottery, a short story first published in 1948, and which Wikipedia says is common in middle schools and high schools. And has been adapted a few times.

I can't tell if Clinton is a good a sport or if he was about to slug Colbert.

Clinton looks like he was very tired.

[up] He always looks that way when he's on The Daily Show, too. I think it's just how he looks these days. It's possible getting everything set up for the conference left him more tired than usual, though.

Country Singers live mostly in the good ol boy bubble.

Their fan base is specifically the exact type of person who wouldn't figure out how offensive a line about being a white guy who has no idea how a black man feels in the south would come across.

Yeah, most likely he has no idea people might find his disgusting drivel offensive. He might even be surprised that a white guy like me is offended at all!

I dunno. Sure, the song overall is hilariously misguided and out of touch, but the worst parts of it were the ones sung and presumably written (he is credited as a writer) by LL Cool J, who should really know better.

Yeah. I loved the parody though. "When I tell you God hates fags, it just means I love Lynrd Skynrd"

They really need to do "Better Know a District" more often.

It's predicated on actually getting a congressman to agree to an interview, though.

To me the get to know a district segments are really the last parts of the show where Colbert is entirely doing his persona. The rest of the time it's either a joke or is dropped entirely, I think he just ramps it right up for the district segments to put people off their guard.

There's so many he could talk to. One of them's got to be okay with it.
