Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestSnowfox, the only problem i see with your profile is that the nickname is defined by the trinket the character has, so it might be something like 'Clock,' although that isn't the best suggestion.
Other than that, you're accepted. Welcome to the Game.
Chihuahua, i eagerly await your profile.

"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillOh. Thanks for clarifying, I thought it could be anything. I'll change it.
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestMuch better. Actually, that's a pretty good nickname. A character from the previous RP was nicknamed Tick, with a pocketwatch. It's like an inadvertent Shout-Out.
For the record, you can keep it the way it is, as it's perfectly fine. I'm not ruling you out for it.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillAs it stands right now, one character would be the best thing. However, in the end playing multiple characters might be allowed...
PM me about both characters and i might let you play both immediately, although i'll probably reserve the right to ask you to drop one if we need a slot.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank Hill- Trinket: An iPod nano with earbuds and only one song: Ain't That A Kick In The Head
on loop.
- Nickname: Dean
- Appearance: Dean is a scrawny, short, rat-faced man. He never stops moving, and always gives off the vibe that he's about to bolt. He wears a wrinkled, long-sleeved white button-down formal shirt and black tie. His pants are wrinkled, frayed black khakis with equally worn black shoes. In other words, he looks like a prom highschooler on a bad day.
- Apparent Age: 16
- Gender: M
- Personality: Dean, just as his appearance suggests, is high-strung and paranoid. When under stress, he often yells and overreacts to things. He doesn't want to kill anyone, but he's so imbalanced that that could change at any moment. Three words: Hormonally Imbalanced Teenager.
- Other: Listening to the song calms Dean down rapidly.
A doublepost to bring you this update:
To expand on that, there's a casino along the Circuit de Monaco, Docks.... It's preferred not too many scenes are going on around Monaco in a single day, but you won't be held back on where you can go in Monaco.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank Hill- Trinket: Pen
- Nickname: Pencil
- Appearance: She is often noticed by others for her unconventional looks; many strangers have assumed that she is a model. In Catholic school uniform with knee-length skirt.
- Apparent Age: Early, mid-20s.
- Gender: Female
- Personality: Loud, rough-around-the-edges, she loves doing what she can to push other peoples' buttons.
- Other: Seems to have a playful and laid-back attitude, and is known for doing things at her own pace. She dislikes being pressured by others into making decisions and taking action.

^ OH U
When is the discussion thread opening, same time as the actual thread?
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey Bitchfest![]()
That's a relief.
- Trinket: A plastic toy ring which looks quite old and worn
- Nickname: Ring
- Gender: Female
- Apparent age: 22-ish
- Appearance: A thin and delicate looking woman, with light brown hair reaching down her back and green eyes. Usually wears long, fairly elaborate dresses.
- Personality: Will rarely speak unless spoken to, and even then rarely more than a word or two at a time. On the rare occasion where she will speak at length, however, she is surprisingly articulate and self-assured. Moves quite gracefully at all times.

I'll open it once we get a few more signups in, at most when the RP starts... Nah, i'll just make it now.
Accepted, Gilphon. Welcome to the Game.

"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillOkay, finally have the time to make this:
- Trinket: A red bishop chess piece.
- Nickname: Redd
- Appearance: Caucasian. 5'9'' with an awkward, lanky frame. Light brown hair with bangs swept to the side, high-cheekbones with small but nice nose, and soft jawbone. Initially wears a red short-sleeved hoodie with khaki shorts.
- Apparent Age: 16ish
- Gender: Male
- Personality: Redd tends to be generally brash when dealing with people, being subtle yet direct with his speech. Around girls (and every once in a while boys) he likes, he gets charming and flirty. He also likes snarking with a goofy grin in his face.
However, he likes to have people underestimate him. He's okay with following other orders, because not only he likes going with the flow, but because when in the right situation, he can take charge and shove everyone down. However, his arrogance may cause this to backfire. - Other: Seem to have some sort of kickboxing experience, but compared to other fighters, he's weak. He relies on his wits and nimbleness. He also gets fidgeting with his hands, so he either plays with his tricket or whatever he has around, preferably paper substance (fast food wrappers, napkins, origami, tissues, etc).
Since Redd is similar to Pen, they could play off of each other. However, Pen seems more open than Redd and their motivations are different, so they could also act as foils.

- Trinket: Half a pack of Wild Berry Skittles.
- Nickname: Cherry
- Appearance: Tall girl with long black hair with blue streaks in it. Her eyes are green. She's very pretty, but looks something like a Bifauxnen. She wears a school uniform: white shirt, red bow, short black skirt and black stockings.
- Apparent Age: 17
- Gender: Female
- Personality: She is a strong leader, whether of a group or a family. She is a perfectionist who prefers to remain professional and detached instead of becoming emotionally close to others. She has a mask on at all times, but as well because she is perfectly comfortable being someone who is in control, never letting anyone see her falter, and is detached in an stereotypical ‘Ice Queen’ sort of way. For her, emotions and issues make her feel like a weak person. Even worse since she has forgotten everything about herself. She is very willing to do what is necessary to survive.
- Other: She prefers to hang out with girls far more than boys. She isn't sure why. It's just an impulsive thing that she can not shake, and doesn't seem to do with her sexual preferences.
- Trinket: Protractor
- Nickname: Tangent
- Appearance: Chestnut brown hair with a tinge of grey. Horn-rimmed glasses over sharp green eyes. Long, droopy nose and a greying goatee. Stands at about 6'2" and is always upright. Wears a twede coat, beige dress shirt, and black dress pants. Looks skinny at first but is slightly toned on closer examination.
- Apparent Age: Late 40's to early 50's.
- Gender: Male
- Personality: Grumpy and commanding, Protractor will always make his opinion heard and try to make his opinion action. He is aggressive and selfish, always designating himself as the highest priority. He believes that mathematical equations can solve any problem if used properly.
- Additional Notes: Doesn't care much for children and has a hard time respecting those younger than himself, because he believes that wisdom can only come with age. Has some prior experience in dealing with "rowdy youths", so isn't as weak as he may first appear.
First trinket idea: Watch. Second: Chess piece. Third: Pen. This is without reading the other profiles. Am I good or what?
Profile:
- Trinket: An uncolored stone die.
- Nickname: Gambler.
- Apparent Age: 35-40 years old.
- Gender: Male.
- Appearance: Squat, well-built, clean-shaven with hair cut close to the scalp. Wears a gray coat and brown cargo pants. Face is somewhat wrinkled, with deep-set gray eyes. Tends to stand straight, and often has hands crossed.
- Personality: Tends to stay to the back of conversations, listening and remaining inconspicuous. Almost always lethargic and apathetic, and does little unless prompted, either through danger or direct orders. Although he is not marked by a great deal of education, he is relatively cunning and knows how to turn situations to his advantage.
- Other: He has some unarmed combat experience, but is more at home using anything sharp; has basic capacity with firearms. Does not like being ordered and will do all he can to avoid work unless it's easier just to do what he's told. He's got an excellent ability to determine which path is the easiest in most cases.

This is this.Is it all right if I change the trinket and nickname now? I'm starting to feel they're a tad cliche.
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey Bitchfest- Trinket: A pretty salt crystal.
- Nickname: Sally Crystal.
- Appearance: Long platinum blond hair, dark eyes and a pale complexion. She is not very tall but as if to compensate that she is very agile and flexible. She wears a pair of old jeans, sneakers, a white shirt and a light violet hoodie.
- Apparent Age: 18
- Gender: Female
- Personality: Sally is mostly a quiet though curious girl, prone to having her mind wander. When she does speak she seems to be honest and polite. Sally is also rather straightforward in how to approach problems, preferring to deal with things as she best can instead of beating around the bush. Finally, while she tends to get lost in her thoughts, when something happens she can snap back to reality and react pretty quickly.
- Other: Sally is quite an agile girl, a good runner and might just have been part of a gymnastics team.

"What we once thought to be truth, to be irrefutable fact, is not as it seems. Oftentimes it is known, to some, that what we believe to be true never was. But despite what was at most a temporary fact, if factual at all, it does not change the fact that we held it to be truth for longer than we can remember. That is why i will forever hold this statement to be irrefutable truth, no matter how scarcely things can be forever deemed that: Through lies and deciet, a new truth is born."
Hello fellow tropers, and welcome to the sequel to the recently finished RP, A Game Of Chance! Now, I could just begin this opening post going on and on about this specific RP itself, which I will do anyway considering the amount of stuff I need to cover (and that doesn’t even cover all of it), but I believe it would be best to give you a synopsis of the concept and plot of A Game Of Chance so you know just what this RP is all about.
A Game Of Chance Concept/Synopsis
The initial concept of A Game Of Chance is as follows: A group of people wake up on a train arriving at D.C., with no memory of who they are or how they got there. In one hand, they held a trinket of some sort, which they would later use as a way to identify themselves. In the other hand, they held a card, or to be more specific, a tarot card. Around their necks are collars and a cell phone and a credit card can be found in their back pocket or pocket. Each person simultaneously receives a call, revealing that they are now in a life or death struggle- the collar around their neck is explosive, and should they try to escape it will detonate. Among the group is another person with a specific card that that person is looking for, and they must find and kill that person as well as the person hunting them. This had to be accomplished in a 22 day period, and if it was not then the collar on their necks would explode. To accomplish this goal, each person had a power that was a part of their tarot card, and not excluding their own wit, cunning and deceptive abilities this was all they had or could have at their disposal.
As to the plot of the RP from then on, the only true thing that you need to know is this:
Current RP Backdrop
In the year following what would later be referred to as ‘The D.C. Incident,’ the man responsible for the destruction of a major U.S. city and the deaths of men he held captive dropped off the map. During that year as well, the world went through unprecedented phenomena. For weeks on end, one region might be plagued by very cold temperatures, high winds, thunderstorms, dead heat- the varying amounts of weather conditions seemed to be never-ending, yet alternating as well. While one might be plagued by high winds, another could have a dead heat, and when one stopped it was replaced by another.
However, the silence would not last for long. People have once again disappeared, and on the day of the Monaco Grand Prix, the Game will resume… but not all is as it seems.
Current RP Details
The setting, to start off, has changed, now taking place in Monaco, Europe during the Monaco Grand Prix. Players wake up in one of the VIP areas around the Circuit de Monaco, with a trinket in one hand and one of the Minor Arcana cards in the other. (Cell phones and Credit cards are still supplied.) You and your teammates will be the only ones in the room, and will be informed of the games mechanics as one. The same overall concept of the game applies, but this time a few new elements are added:
In the previous RP, the players had 22 days to eliminate their targets. Due to a few different issues, some that have already gotten a solution and others which cannot be foreseen or changed, the amount of days has risen exponentially: It now rests at an even 50 days. Originally, the days had limits by posts, and after that day had been exceeded in posts business was wrapped up and the RP moved to the next day. A solution for this was created, if memory serves by fellow GM Crystal Glacia, in that the days no longer have a posting limit, but the day is advanced when business has been concluded and the players are ready to advance the day. This method will be returning for this RP.
Now on to the business of the Tarot Cards. Each card has a corresponding ability or power assigned to it, as determined by me. Each player is randomly assigned a card, target and hunter, and I oversee all of those processes. As said previously, the abilities the tarot cards grant you are the only abilities you will have, save for your characters own wit or other personality knacks.
Meet the GMs
Before treading into the process of giving you the character sheet (And some final bits of information), it is important that you are familiar with the GMs of this RP and what each of them oversees or does.
I, to start, oversee all things regarding game mechanics and what happens in the plot. Neither Crystal Glacia nor Motree know who’s hunting who, not even for their own characters. They do, however, know about the plot and what direction it might take, as the overall plot of the RP has been coordinated by the three of us. However, we have not been against people presenting ideas about the story or how their characters might fit into that experience, and that willingness to hear you out has not disappeared. If you’ve got an idea, PM me and I’ll consider it, although that doesn’t mean I’ll accept it.
My next GM, Crystal Glacia, oversees the RP days and their advancement, as shown in RP by her characters checking the time now and again. If there’s something you want to or need to get done in the RP day, you should run it by her, so that she knows to keep the day going. Crystal Glacia also oversees continuity in the RP and all that applies to that, as well as making sure that players know what’s going on in the day. Note that this does not mean that you can ask her for a recap every time, as we expect you to make sure you know what’s happening to the best of your ability. I cannot speak for her, however, on what she deems deserving of a recap or other players if you request a recap from them.
My other GM, Motree, oversees rules and that they are enforced. If a rule is set and you break it, she has every right to call you out on it and ask you to change a post, blank a post, or what she deems necessary. Seeing as she is not a person to yell at you for something you messed up, I’ll ask you don’t treat her that way either- civil interaction can be maintained, as well as a friendly nature if we’re all willing to keep it that way.
Joinable Factions and Character Sheets
Now we get to the interesting bit: Being a contestant in the RP isn’t the only faction you have an opportunity to join. Along with this, there are two other factions: The OCMPA group and, as I will refer to it until a better name is given, the ‘Orchestra.’ I’ll quickly go over each of these to the best of my ability.
The OCMPA is a group, created by Motree, which functions as a sort of ‘supernatural police unit’, although that isn’t the best description for it. There are five joinable slots for the group, although the ability to sign up in this group is at this time not allowed. The group is directed by Motree, and she’ll give you a better description once she returns from camp on the 19th, an actual post from her probably appearing on the 20th. If this faction is the one you are interested in, indicate said interest and if you haven’t returned after she explains what’s going on there, I’ll PM you with a heads up that she’s returned and signups are open for that faction. What I can tell you now, as if you didn’t infer this much already, is that the OCMPA group she oversees is hunting John down.
Excerpt from Motree:
The organization is currently led by a woman by the name of Ms. Samara Amarante a mysterious woman of few words who seems to be able to see right through you. Aiding her in leading are the organization's counsel- Kota, Mina, and Adriana Yakumo, Euberta Belliti, Drake Milano, Desmond Alexandria, and Edgard Alexandria.
Currently, A squad under the leadership of two OCMPA lieutenants, Suki Hiyama and Bryon Samuel, is in charge of tracking down John. In addition to the five PC members, they are also joined by members Skye Neilson and Cole Schneider.
Protecting civilians and others is their top priority, though their personalities and true motives vary greatly.
Now on to the Orchestra. Being hunted down by the OCMPA, and in his current state, John won’t live for much longer unless he has some allies on his side. Hence, the Orchestra. These are others like John that share the same sense of… power, evil, all that good stuff. While it is not required for them to be just like John in any way, they aren’t nice guys either. The common thread between them is that right now, they are loyal to John, and probably expect some sort of reward for aiding him.
EDIT: Orchestra has been closed. Character sheet removed; keeping the description up for reference.
The character sheet for the OCMPA is as follows:
The character sheet for contestants is as follows:
Rules
Alright, time to get down to the rules:
Additional notes
Also, for those of you who came here from the Character Development Threads, Vinicio Acquati will be involved. I'll leave it at that.

"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank Hill
