So. Personal opinions on the main wiki aren't allowed, be they gushing or bashing. Now, bashing gets tolerated even less than gushing, and that makes sense; it leads to more flamewars.
But that doesn't mean we have to live with all the gushing either. This thread can serve as a center for keeping it in check. One function might be to alert people to pages that are really heavy in gushing, to the point that it's not just a quick fix and will need some assistance.

Actually, as with most subjects in palaeontology, there's still debate over if the Tyrannosaurids had feathers or not. This article
goes into more details, and this section
of the Wikipedia article on Tyrannosauridae also gives a good rundown of the different sides.
As the opposite of this thread is dealing with something on Total Abandonment, it reminded me of something:
On that page, Newsworld International is referred to as “awesome”, emphasis theirs.

Early on in Woolseyism.Western Animation, an entire example is dedicated to gushing about Guilherme Briggs. It's gushing, misusing the trope and troping a real person, so I'm going to cut it. (I would have done it anyway, but I thought I should say it first in the cleanup thread so...)
Creator Worship seems devoted to gushing about people, which is kinda weird cause it's on Main and not, say, Sugar Wiki, and several of the creators listed have had their reputations tarnished for myriad reasons, which causes a strange effect where tons of gushing is followed by tons of bashing or 'X finally lost some of their luster' which sounds eager to see them fall from grace.
The whole page is kind of a mess.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Eh, I'm seeing more ZCEs than outright gushing. It's a YMMV trope about how fans worship specific creators, so you're going to get examples that sound gush-y, but I don't see anything that seems too personal or subjective, at least not yet.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall
The original example mentioned two examples of Guilherme Briggs dubs (Sealab 2021 and Mewtwo Strikes Back) but both were ZCE that were more "ZOMG he is awesome!!!" than anything else.
From Vindicated by History, videogames:
- When Sonic Adventure came out, it was met with mostly positive reception and even became the Killer App for the then dying Sega Dreamcast. Later on, however, reception towards it started to turn sour after numerous ports, leading more and more people to take notice of their archaic and very questionable design decisions. What made things worse is that the content that was originally seen as ambitious and bold then came to be viewed as gimmicky and tryhard (namely things like the Unexpected Gameplay Change and the greater emphasis on plot) which culminated in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), a game that took everything already considered problematic from Adventure and made it worse. Naturally, Sega would do everything to move away from Adventure and almost anything associated from that time, outside of a nod here and there: Sonic would be the only playable character from that point on, almost every supporting character was Demoted to Extra, and the plots became much more simpler and juvenile. However, fans eventually started to get tired of that direction by the time Sonic Forces came out. Looking back, fans came to the realization that many of the problems with Adventure were mostly prevalent in a lot of 3D games at the time, and that the ideas presented in Adventure weren't inherently bad, just poorly executed. With the advent of remakes making rounds in the late 2010s, namely the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Mario and Zelda returning to their early days around the same time, many fans are hoping for a remake of Sonic Adventure (and to a lesser extent, its sequel) to address many of these issues.
I deleted some of the entries here for what was clearly misuse of the trope. I never deleted this one, but I feel it should, as it's arguing that a game that was well received got vindicated because of some shody ports and sequels.
What next? People will say Sonic Unleashed and Colors got vindicated despite the bad reception of Forces?

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.
Yeah, the game was never widely disliked, so there's nothing to vindicate. The "reception souring" is, as far as I can tell, was nothing more than a Vocal Minority. Well, there are individual sections that could theoretically get vindicated, but I don't see that ever happening.

My musician pageThe Sonic sections have been horrendously prone to defensive editing towards the 2000's. There were multiple Vindicated by History entries for characters (the Babylon Rogues), concepts (the humans) and gameplay styles (the Werehog), which not only are misuse, but is clear Fan Myopia.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Honestly, that Sonic Adventure entry would probably fit Popularity Polynomial better, which is about a work's popularity shifting and waning over time.
A while ago I made two separate posts about Dream SMP (Heartwarming)
and Attack on Titan (Fridge)
respectively, as I saw entries that I believe to be blatant gushing on both pages. My posts got ignored both times, so I didn't touch those examples just to be on the safe side. Would it be okay if I removed those instances of gushing, citing this thread in the Edit Reasons to prevent someone from adding them back and creating Edit Wars?

SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYThe opening of Maus feels a little gushy.
Anyone who thinks comics don't get respect simply must read this. This is the kind of thing you would read for your literature class, if it weren't a comic book — and, indeed, some literature classes have started using it anyway. So has the German government's BPB or Federal Agency for Civic Education.
I wasn't sure how to rewrite this Stereotype Flip entry, as it also has some ZCE and complaining problems:
- 24 has been flipping stereotypes since its pilot episode. The biggest Flip occurred in Season 2. The question of just who was helping the terrorists nuke LA boiled down to either the Middle-Eastern boy educated in London or his WASP father-in-law to be. And then...we learn the REAL identity of the terrorist. Before the show starting pulling asses; this was one of the greatest twists and a true Stereotype Freakin' Flip.

From Woolseyism. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic:
- Japanese Dub folder:
- The Japanese dub is positively bursting with them. It turns out that the show translates extremely well to Japanese anime conventions: (It's not as bad as the others but it could be rewritten. Need a second opinion.)
- Discord's line of "I don't turn ponies into stone" is made to sound more menacing in the Japanese version. In the original, he was mocking Princess Celestia's turning him into stone, but in the Japanese dub, he says "Shall I turn these ponies into stone?" as if he were threatening to do the same to Twilight and the others. It works 'especially' well now, not to mention doubling as a case of Foreshadowing, when the Legion of Doom in Season 9 is turned to stone on Discord's suggestion.
- Other Dubs folder:
- The French dub cleverly changes a lot of the puns and sometimes adds French cultural references as well.
- The Italian dub of "Inspiration Manifestation" has Spike, when he's pissed off at Owloysious, saying "Hey you! Stop being such an owl and help me!", with "Being an owl" being Italian slang for "bringing bad luck". An amazing thing to hear, since the Italian dub of the show usually translates puns literally and turns some gags into ponies saying nonsense stuff.
Berserk Button: misusing Berserk Button
The description for Starlight Heroics:
Starlit Heroics is Xerizero Re 9010's personal masterpiece, and it includes the adventures of multiple characters and their development along with discovering more of the world around them.
There's two main stories so far - the Black Blood Crusades (which revolves around the desperate struggle had by the soldier Lirus and his companions against the Zombie Apocalypse that is brought upon by the eponymous Nachzehrer monsters - black blooded demons that infect others through their blood.) and Tale of a Sun and Moon (which revolves around a man who's tangled himself in the thick and dangerous underworld of Divixus due to getting something he wasn't supposed to.)
The creator himself has crafted all 70+ characters, their personalities, along with working them all to be identifiable from each other, the story over an ongoing 5-year span of cleaning up plots and scenarios, the world where they live in, every little detail, continuous studying of works like it, a wiki and etc.
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.Fishmans and its subpages could probably use some trimming if anyone wants to take a look.
Found a ZCE on Costume Porn and wanted to expand on it but I decided to take my proposed write-up here just in case if it comes off as too gushy as the example is from Marie Antoinette (2006) and I'm a Marie Antoinette simp, so my bias might be weighing in here hard.
- Marie Antoinette (2006): The titular queen wears several lavish and detailed dresses, from the wide caged white dress she wears on her wedding, a refined blue gown accompanied with a chic tricorne hat and rich trimmings, to a green and pink striped gown with dozens of ruffles and bows whose accessory consists of a diamond-encrusted fan.

CG for shortThat sounds detailed enough. Doesn't really sound gushy to me, so you're probably fine.
Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...

Is Laconic.FTL Faster Than Light Multiverse too gushy? Emphasis is mine.
