Ok dont ban me but I had gotten some support in the other thread and wanted to make a thread about it.

Can we make an Audience Reaction namespace page for said Audience Reaction tropes like The Scrappy and so on make all those in-universe only and any fan base reactions go onto the sub page? (some of the Troper Tales pages were used like that and that wasnt the right place for it ever.)

Am I misreading this, or are you proposing we make a namespace to allow complaining that doesn't observe a mass-reaction and is based on the one troper's opinion?

If they're in-universe, they go on the main page, marked as in-universe. If they aren't, they go in the forums.

No I am talking about moving all pre-existing Audience Reaction and YMMV tropes such as The Scrappy, Uncanny Valley. Better on DVD and such to a subpage on their specific page for those and leave the main page for Character Reaction examples only of said thing.

So do for all pages what we do for Works pages.

They should already be on the YMMV page. Or they're something that isn't an example at all, and they should be in the forums.

Not understanding me here Foxxy mod that is what we already do for works pages yes, I am talking about doing it for the actual trope pages themselves as well. Character Reactions on the main page and Audience Reactions on a subpage.

There is a special project to do just that here however those Audience Reactions were shoved to the Troper Tales page.. they didnt belong there.

If we split the pages the way you suggest, we have to have really strict rules to avoid Troper Tales Two.

I'm failing to see the logic in segregating these tropes from all the others just because they happen to be more subjective than the others...having them on the YMMV pages for their associated works is plenty.

As far as I understand, Raso is talking about splitting the examples of the trope into "In universe" and "Audience Reaction".

[up][up] There has been recent trend in TRS of Audience Reaction tropes made into character reaction (the names slip me at the moment. FFS.) and the out of universe examples were shoved into Troper Tales.

Had no problem with it at the time as examples were still there in a subpage now nope (even if it was misuse of Troper Tales), however the idea itself still has merit on really all YMMV pages if they could get a subpage for said YMM Vness and have Character Reaction to the front page.

I don't know what the "recent trends" have been, but changing Audience Reactions to "character reactions" amounts to getting rid of Audience Reactions. That'd be a shame.

I honestly expect that dumping YMMV onto a separate wiki will be the next major project.

But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you.

The problem is that even with YMMV, the tropes are relevant to the actual works. We catalogue good and bad situations, after all.

I don't buy that. They're relevant to the site's mission, which cannot be said for Fetish Fuel and Troper Tales.
