Odd, I'd think there'd be more discussion on this topic.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I dunno. People's thoughts on the block, I guess—the choice of shows, the bumpers, the website
, how absolutely awesome it is that these shows are back on.
Oh, and: Good Burger or Honker Burger?

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Damnit. I was hoping that the banner ads on this site was a sign that Nick was actually putting effort into advertising this thing and therefore this would be common knowledge. Because, y'know, they never actually advertise their nostalgic DVD sets and then act confused when sales don't do well.
Of course, even with bare-bones ads this thing still beat FIVE LATE NIGHT TALK SHOWS IT'S FIRST NIGHT IN TWO DEMOGRAPHICS. AWESOME.

It was rerun on Nick and Teen Nick The N for a bit, but it's not a Nick original.
My favorite bumper is the one where Kenan Thompson lampshades how nobody could ever assemble the Silver Monkey right even though there were only three pieces that were really distinctive and downright obvious as to where they should go.

I love it. I actually recorded the Hey Arnold repeats because I couldn't stay up to watch them.
Hey Arnold is so much deeper when you're older. I remember turning it off every-time it came on when i was younger...now, it's like Jumping from Adam West to Frank Millar.
Let's make a TCG!YMMV. Sure, there were overtones of parental neglect in Helga's house (plus her mom being a drunkard), but let's face it—a lot of stuff in that series was pretty damn silly. Stoop Kid, Monkey Man, the Pig War...
Not to say it's not a great watch, but in terms of seriousness (but, thankfully, not camp) it is a lot closer to Adam West than Frank Miller.
I don't want to see what a Frank Miller-esque version of Hey Arnold would look like.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Ironically the more silly eps were the one I like more. The Chocolate boy rehab ep, teh Stoop Kid rehab ep, the world record attempt ep, the Helga trapped in Arnold's room ep...
Let's make a TCG!Stick Stickly is back and hosting U Pick with Stick on Friday nights.
I should really get into watching Teen Nick. Maybe I'm jaded by how Nick doesn't care for their previous teen shows to the point where they felt the need to create an entire network for it!
Jesus Christ people. We get two hours a night, we get to pick one week, we get new Stickly stuff, and Nick's doing their DVDs through Shout Factory now. More than that would be pandering, I think.
I'd be happier if Nick upped the quality of their new stuff than if they said "Fuck it, let's just do reruns from now on."
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Considering how missed their old shows were, I'm glad they made that decision. The only way Nickelodeon could be as good as they were back then is by bringing back the writers and creator greats like Craig Bartlett or Mark Mothersbaugh. Dan Schneider is still there, but the last decent show he ever made was Drake & Josh, which is also the last decent show Nickelodeon ever had.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.
So, the only way they can improve is never take a chance on new talent? Ever?
The problem is you ask anyone when Nickelodeon's "golden age" was and it's always when they were young. Years from now kids will be nostalgic for iCarly and Fanboy And Chum Chum and we'll look down on them with the same contempt You Cant Do That On Television fans look down on us with.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Although I think the pandering is kinda blatant and I'm disappointed in the limited amount of content they show, I'm glad this exists.
Me and my younger sister were watching it the other night when something called Salute Your Shorts came on. I have never heard of that show and those feel no nostalgia for it, but I guess it's a good thing that they were showing. I thought the show was kinda cute but a bit too sappy in some parts. Interestingly, it seemed quite a bit more slower paced than what's on Nick nowadays.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianI do wish they had more content, though. They only give like 4 shows, but the commercials always show more shows. I love that they show Hey Arnold, it's one of my favorites. I actually like the character Helga a lot more than when I was a kid.

EDIT: This thread is about the Teen Nick programming block. Sorry if that was unclear.
So, Nick has finally cracked under the pressure and begun to pander to us. Hurray! And, just as we all suspected, the ratings in that timeslot skyrocketed. Double hurray! So naturally Nickelodeon moved it from Tuesdays to Monday-to-Friday! Triple hurray! This is what we've all been waiting for, except why is it only those four shows because I'm not overly fond of those specifically and the commercials have all these different shows that are never on and maybe they should switch it up a bit or make the block longer and why are there repeats immediately after and so on and so on and so on.
In any case, with all that out of the way* , I'm going to kick off this thread by talking about what I do like about it: no syndication cuts, at least that I've noticed; the bumpers are fun even with the Take That, Audience! aspect; the higher-ups are embracing social networks; and over all it makes me smiley as all hell that these shows are on again. Between this and the Shout Factory DVDs, I have serious hope that maybe, someday, Nick will finally nail this nostalgia thing and we'll get re-releases with bonus features and a longer block so that Nick can rake in more of that sweet 18-35 cash.
Naturally, though, I hope more that Nick will work harder at making their new shows top-quality. Can't look backwards forever...
