I'd like to be able to edit the statement I make in the edit reasons, in case I notice a typo or something else I'd like to say.

Would be nice, although even with a history for it, you'd get people trying to avoid a ban for rude edits reasons editing their reasons and saying "Did not, see?" e

You could do an edit immediately afterwards without changing anything. Doesn't work for typos, but is good for "sorry, forgot to leave a reason."

Edit reasons need to remain as they are for very obvious reasons — namely the ability to say something nasty and then "retract" it later.

You could always have an edit history thing.

Wait, an edit history for the edit reasons on the edit history? Seriously, that's ridiculous. Do you hear yourself?

I mostly figured that the code is already there in the crowners.

I don't know very much about code, so I didn't know if it would be very hard to repurpose the code or whatever. I don't know, it was just a suggestion.

[up][up](Obligatory yo dawg joke here)

This isn't a good idea. Having rude edit reasons is a bannable offense here, and this can keep people from getting caught. And Edit History edit histories just seems like a waste of server space to me.

We could always have an one-minute (or even thirty-second) timer for editing edit reasons. It's enough time for someone to realize a typo and go back to edit it, but it's short enough that they can't erase evidence later.
