We've all read or seen something and said "This would be so much better if it were *name medium here*."

What can you think of that would have been better as a movie?

For me, it would be Bioshock. They shouldn't have made that a game. I think it would work better as a movie.

To some degree, the Star Wars X-Wing novels. They're good, but descriptions of starfighter combat don't give you a sense of it in the way that a visual medium would.

This probably goes for a lot of books where military tactics play a significant part in the plot.

I'd say the Gaunt's Ghosts series of novels would make for damned good movies.

They may be Warhammer 40,000 novels, but hell one can enjoy them as sci-fi military stuff without knowing anything about the setting.

I think the X Wing Series would work better as a miniseries than a couple of movies.

Well, since we're on the subject of Star Wars, I think The Force Unleashed would have made a good movie. I mean, it's a fun game and all, but I just kept imagining how much better it would've been as a fully realized film, rather than a video game. I'd watch the hell out of that, but of course, that goes without saying.

The Force Unleashed makes too little sense to fit into the storyline without trivialising everything, though.

The Metal Gear Solid series, especially the 4th one.

As much as people like to joke that The Guns of the Patriots was a movie pretending to be a game, it would make a really sucky movie. I, for one, don't want to watch a six-to-eight-hour movie which is 80% exposition.

Modern video games are made with the assumption that the player saves and quits at some point, and the exposition-flood that Kojima tends to rely on isn't nearly as bad when you don't experience the whole game in one sitting.

Somebody I know thinks LA Noire would have been better off as a film. That could have rebooted the film noir genre!

The concept of Epic Mickey would work a whole lot better as an animated feature.

Most Final Fantasy games. The railroad gameplay sometimes feels as everything just exists to help me level up for the boss fights.

Here's one, Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis. This game literally feels like it would have been a very smashing 4th Indiana jones film. I cant say it would be better than Crystal Skull because I haven't seen it.

I'm not sure about movies, but there are a lot of things that would work good as TV series, ala Game of Thrones. Sandman, for one.
