Don't let the opinions of others get you down. If you like a bad movie, at worst it just means you have bad taste. And that's hardly the worst thing in the world.
I'm frustrated by the Star Wars prequels because they weren't up to the same standards as A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. They're halfway decent on their own, but they suffer in comparison to the standard of the OT.
And Revenge Of The Sith was pretty awesome, so don't worry about it.

More seriously, while I was somewhat disappointed at some parts of the prequels (Anakin's "coarse sand" line was particularly groan-worthy, and I much prefer the Phantom Edit version of TPM), and definitely think that compared to the original trilogy they're sub-par, I don't think they were So Bad It's Horrible (an accusation thrown around so often it's pretty much worthless, nowadays), nor do I think those that liked them are all wastes of carbon compounds.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpAgreed. I also prefer Anakin over Luke and Padme over Leia. Might have something to do with the fact I only watched them in 2010 for the first time (but in correct order 4-5-6-1-2-3) and I was underwhelmed by the original trilogy. Everyone made such a big deal of it and it just didn't deliver that quality.
I liked them, too, though my opinion of them may be colored by the fact that I was caught up in an action-figure-collecting frenzy at the time I saw them in theaters. The worst thing in them is Hayden Christensen, who seemed to have no appeal beyond being pretty. Even added him to So Bad, It's Good.
In any case, if the prequels didn't exist, then Star Wars Clone Wars wouldn't exist, which is unacceptable. I love Clone Wars so freakin much.
I remember my brother and I biked down to the theater literally every weekend to see Episode 1 again. It got to the point where we were the only people left in the theater.
So I must've liked them at some point. Honestly, my personal biggest beef with them is that I got psyched up for Yoda's first fight scene in Episode 2 and it lasted all of twenty seconds. Also the really bad script in every one, and the Big "NO!" is still too easy to make fun of.
But they're not the worst movies in the world. I'd say they're good drinking-game movies.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.I enjoyed the Star Wars prequels.
But I still think they suck.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchThey weren't so bad either. Their respective years had far worse movies (1999 had Baby Geniuses, Bats, American Pie, Any Given Sunday and Bicentennial Man, 2002 had Swept Away, Men in Black II, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, The Sweetest Thing and Scooby-Doo, 2005 had Bewitched, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Stealth, The Honeymooners and The Dukes of Hazzard).
Also, my not that interested in science fiction mother liked Episodes I and II. She didn't see Episode III.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/That might be because the prequels are High Fantasy with a sci-fi paintjob.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — Watch
The OT is pretty fantastical, too, really. Though it's all down to the archetypical nature of things.
(I don't consider this a bad point, for that matter, either. Space Opera is fun.)

Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchI've haven't seen the PT yet, but from reading about them they sound pretty good. But those scripts...oy. It's true about George being able to write those things but not say them.
Still, I'm willing to give 'em a shot. My mom has a video copy of Episode 1 somewhere. Maybe I'll dig it out someday.
Looking for some stories? The dialogue is truly, truly outrageous atrocious.
And personality traits cannot be blamed for lack of skill.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchReally, Lucas would have done better if he'd come up with the original story, then sub-contracted out the script-writing and directing to others so he could focus on the FX.
And I say this as someone who found the Prequels reasonably enjoyable, if not a patch on the OT.

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I actually prefered The Phantom Menace over A New Hope. Blasphemous huh? Well I'll tell ya' why
- First off I was born well after the 70's,so I have no nostalgia - Two it's horribly dated looking and after watching the prequels,The Jedi look like idiots - Third the story is the cliche heros tale,Phantom Menace was at least somewhat original - Finally it's riddled with just as many problems of bad characterization,Dull Surprise, and campiness as the prequels except without the good effects,Darth Maul, the podrace,or Qui Gon Jinn
- Jar Jar Binks really isn't so bad that all these horrific problems the original had are suddenly void and A New Hope is better becuase it doesn't have Jar Jar. Besides he's cancelled out by Darth Maul,Qui Gon,and even Mace Windu anyway.
Really it's a battle between campy/dated (The original) with nothing redeeming vs campy with fantastic effects (Episode I).
The original trilogy didn't Grow the Beard til' Empire Strikes Back
And ya' what Revenge Of The Sith was pretty good to.
But really the trilogy would've been better off with Attackofthe Clones

And somehow that means I am:
Why is this? Am I not allowed to enjoy these movies? Sure, there were individual aspects that weren't great, but as a whole it was a decent trilogy and it greatly enhanced the story as a whole.
