We wouldn't be the ones hosting it elsewhere. If somebody moved it off-wiki, I wouldn't care so long as I didn't have to put up with them here.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffAt the risk of getting mass flamed, I'm in favor of keeping it, moving it offsite (a la IJBM) if needed. I've found that some of the TT's on the more innocent topics are interesting and fun to read. If the tales for the more questionable topics are permanently deleted and locked, I've no objections.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Yep.
Ninja'd x4. I really shouldn't be surprised.

Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI am in very much agreement with Ten - I completely ignored the Troper Tales section but that's because I didn't care about it. Once I had joined and been hanging out for a week or so I actaully looked at one and went all "OMG What have I gotten myself into?"
So, to summarize:
EX/TER/MIN/ATE! EX/TER/MIN/ATE! EX/TER/MIN/ATE!
If you want Troper Tales to be maintained off-site, you are completely free to start your own Wiki at Wikia or Wikidot or somesuch place, but the issue here is whether or not to keep it on this site.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Troper Tales honestly makes me embarassed to admit that I'm a troper. And not because of how other people look at it. It's because I look at TT, and ask myself "Is this something I really want to admit being a part of?"
Nil, a new sci-fi/horror story that you should read and review! (Updated 4/something) ''The gate opens. The forum is a bigger and more integrated community than the scattered wiki pages that make up TT. People looking for discussion and connection can take their anecdotes here. People looking to dump the minutiae of their lives into the vacuum of the internet can do so on the billion other sites made for that very purpose.
It would also free up some time for our small, overworked mod crew.
I agree with the general sentiment of knocking it off for good. Unnecessary, dull, unhelpful in any shape or form and hardly important or relevant.
Whether people want to create another TT wiki is another matter altogether and I don't think it should be discussed here
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum. While I'd be overjoyed to see Troper Tales go, is that actually a realistic possibility? The crowner shows a large vote in favor, but the previous times this has come up, I remember the idea being vetoed by Word of Mod. So I'm asking as an open question to the mods and especially Fast Eddie: if the majority of tropers want Troper Tales cut, will it actually be cut?
Crown Description:
Should Troper Tales be removed? Vote down for no, up for yes.

It's fucking creepy. I enjoy reading TT when it's innocent, but then you get to some more of our disturbing or naughty tropes, and just...good sweet merciful God.
And Haldo is right, it DOES discourage new members to join. I was terrified of people here after I made my account because of TT. And I agree that it's redundant. We have a forum, we don't need TT. It's literately just a waste of space.
So yes, it should be axed. And by axed, I don't mean we need to host it somewhere else. I mean burn that shit down to the ground.
