Some of the examples raised violate every...single...thing in the guidelines about how to write. Yet, the lurkers insist on defending them? If you voted "no", let yourselves be heard.

[up][up][up]I weep for the human race.

And I have to ask how a page like Unknown Rival could ever have had Troper Tales. It doesn't even make sense.

I hit random. First page that came up was Imaginary Friend.

I find imaginary friends to be extremely interesting. I had several imaginary friends in the past, but only one is left now. I used to be able to see them when I was a kid, but now, I can only hear them. Also, the main character in my (unpublished) book has one as well.
Hearing voices is something people generally get help for.

I've had a few, which as I got older, got...twisted. I've also had a fair few imagnary enemies, and I tended to be in an imaginary Medieval European Fantasy. So, the run-down:

6-8- Piglets. Pocket sized creatures I could carry around in my mouth, which now strikes me as rather disturbing.

8-9- Tigger. Lost my imaginary virginity and had an imaginary child called Jessica. Then he ran off with someone named Sheila.

9-11- Fraiche, the oracle of wind. Medli, the High Queen of Tigger and Sheila's world. Temporarily one named Shannon as an expy of a former best friend who moved away. Then we became Schoolgirl Lesbians and she ended up doing some (imaginary) bad things to me. You Do Not Want To Know.

11-13- Priestess Midna, Sunsha, Yizilia and Moona. Since Sunsha was apparantly my real mom, was some so of Changeling Fantasy. Helped them "save the world" from my imaginary enemy, The Raven. oh, and The Raven was stalking me.

13-now, somewhat- Didn't have any definate imaginary friends, but had fictionalised versions of people I actually knew (and some imaginary extras). 'And as for he 'plot' at this point, I'm not even going there.

...

Yeah, I was (and kinda am) a weird kid.

Creepy and TMI.

Hit random again. Cuteness Proximity. Subjective, but I'd argue they're boring and unnecessary.

Random again. A page with no Troper Tales.

Random again. Marshmallow Hell.

This troper is very cuddly and would love to have someone to do this to. ...Unfortunately, everyone already knows that I'm a bi Lovable Sex Maniac and so don't often let me hug on them, let alone at an angle with thier face in my boobs. And I'm not much of a Huge Schoolgirl, so I can't even do it 'accidentally' or anything -.-

AKA: "Someone shove their boobs in my face plz."

Random again. Ridiculous Procrastinator.

I always leave assignments until the last minute, and occasionally skip them altogether. It's fortunate that I'm intelligent enough to not need to study for exams, otherwise I'd probably fail those, too.
So another self-aggrandizing lazily disguised Brilliant, but Lazy TT.

Random again. Be Careful What You Wish For.

I try to subvert this by thinking of the downsides to things I think I would want. In any case, I wish this aesop were more prevalent in mainstream entertainment. Oh wait...
Subversions aren't allowed, has nothing to do with the trope.

Random. Another page without tales.

Random. Another page without tales.

Random. True Art Sticks It To The Man.

I try to avert this trope in my novel, because I personally think that all those fictions that advocate this trope are, usually, written by someone who doesn't know how government works and how hard people there work. Still, because it makes me do shitloads of research, I'm considering just going with this trope.
Aversion. Aversions don't count.

Random. Tsundere.

A rare, mild, male example is me. Due to epilepsy being in my family, I have certain traits associated with it- namely a mercurial temperament. If I have friends or people I know around I am very outgoing and boisterous. If I know nobody or if someone pisses me off, I get dark and become a little violent. It; not exactly my most endearing trait.
That's not Tsundere or a good thing.
We have a Tsundere DOG. Our Lhasa Apso (who was unquestionably the alpha male of his litter) will snap at you when you touch his tail and he growls everytime our youngest puppy comes in from outside. He sometimes thinks he's a cat and at other times seems to think he's a table ornament (and God help you if you try to pick him up), but he adores my dad (and my mom, his actual owner, at times). My brother he's afraid of (because my brother isn't above bopping him when he misbehaves), and me? Well, I'm never too sure. He seems to appreciate me as a scratching post, at any rate. Meanwhile, our other two dogs are 100% dere and Kuudere.
Getting randomly pissy is not Tsundere.

I'm a played-straight B type Tsundere, no doubts whatsoever. I was always that one quiet kid in class, and I had little to no friends in school... However, I have a group of close friends online that I could (and still can!) easily call my Nakama. But, at one point of time, I was enamored with one of these guys, and somehow, he liked me back. Unfortunately, this in an entry in the Tsundere Troper Tales page, so you know what that means... (It means that I would have a strong temper towards the littlest things this guy said, and I would get all annoyed at even mundane comments about videogames)

Funnily enough, my Tsundere tendencies extended into other parts of life; most predominantly, my opinion of things. For example: If you asked me about my opinion on the Japanese culture, I would respond with a biting remark about how it didn't matter and then I would change the subject. However, when by myself, this couldnt be more to the contrary; I love collecting bento boxes and I diligently study the Japanese language, and lots of other stuff to the point where one could, *gasp*, call me an Otaku, which is a name that I would take great offense to when I'm in tsuntsun mode.

I'm glad I got that off my chest... But, d-don't you dare think that it means anything! ... Dummy..!

I'm some variation of this. When I'm meeting new people, I'm unquestionably a Shrinking Violet who will recognize you by your shoes rather than your face. Once you get to know me, though... I'm a full-fledged Deadpan Snarker Type-A Tsundere. This causes a strange contradiction in which I'm overly polite and sensitive toward strangers and a little bit rude and aggressive toward my friends.
More people who think being an anime archetype makes you special, and not just an asshole.

-shrug-

So lots of not understanding the rules/posting creepy things/ego stroking.

Okay, a new suggestion.

You say that Troper Tales chases away the new potential tropers.

How about a curtain, that only lets you through if you're a member, and even then, when people have signed up, you have a Content Warning, for the nature of the Troper Tales.

And two things.

  • I don't have an ego.
  • You're assuming that ANYBODY who wants to keep Troper Tales is some creep or egotistical jerk, who wants to spread their filth.
  • I'm not giving anybody a label.

That's not the point. The point is that Troper Tales is a blight upon the site.

I don't want it gone because other people don't like it, I want it gone because it makes me feel bad to be a troper.

[up][up]I think we had those, warning us that some of the content was not suitable for everyone. Once you register for an account, you can turn it on/off in the settings. If I'm not mistaken, we still do, but it doesn't change the fact that curiosity often leads people to pass over those, and later, regret what they've seen.

[up]I concur: as a troper, it would be shameful to be associated with creepy individuals or arrogant people.

I'm Going To Hell For This

My friend keeps posting absolutely hilarious jokes, but theyre about subjects that are not so funny...its garanteed that when theres a murder or natural disaster, or celebrity death in the news, theres going to be a hilariously sick joke about it on his Facebook. I earned my ticket into hell by laughing at his jokes.
...kay.

Super Not-Drowning Skills

I have had extraordinary swimming skills since my elementary school years. I could stand tough currents (not waves, obviously), I could swim in virtually any depth at a swimming pool at age 9 (what was funny is that I was hardly athletic), and I had a fast recovery time. I've always liked to get pushed around by the waves with my boogie board, past the area where other kids my age went, and I was never in trouble and had a blast. One time at a beach, a powerful wave came and I did what I usually did, but when I stopped a lifeguard was next to me, told me he "saved" me (funny, considering I didn't feel a thing during that wave), and that if I did that again I would be kicked off the beach. I had an inner freak out and stopped doing that until I became a teen, and even then I promised myself I wouldn't do that too often until I become an adult.
What was the point of this, again?

Forzare's point is one of the numerous ones that form my opion of axing Troper Tales. Most of my other points have already been mentioned, the guidlines not being followed in it, the uselessness, all of it's already been brought up.

How about a curtain, that only lets you through if you're a member, and even then, when people have signed up, you have a Content Warning, for the nature of the Troper Tales.

TT has been ghettoized for a long time, the new system forces you to get known and sign entries, and the main page for Troper Tales already has such a disclaimer.

And none of these have helped in a significant way.

the thing is, I don't care about hypothetical posters.

That is not why I want it gone. I want it gone because it's useless. Because its very premise is broken and lends itself to useless posts.

TT doesn't have anything useful for the site's purpose nor its community. Want to discuss anecdotes? We have a twitter thread. Want to discuss your own problems? We have an Angst thread.

I really don't see how this thing has a better environment than those and I don't see why they're so needed and special.

I'm not sure why we should be counting the votes of the people that we're trying to kick off the site. Of course they're going to vote no, because we're trying to kick them out. I know I would vote no if someone was trying to kick me off the site. However, given that we're trying to kick them off the site, does it really matter what they think? I'm not sure why this is a popularity contest instead of a diagnosis of wiki health by the moderators.

@Forzare: I also agree. In fact, if the deletion does fail the crowner, there's a part of me that wants to quit the site. I'm not going to do it - that would be a total overreaction - but I am really, really tired of having to be associated with the kind of stuff you and ninjaclown have been quoting in the thread.

I vote we change the title and crowner to: Reasons why we think Troper Tales should be moved off-site

@all the rename/different set-up/compromises.

You're missing the point. The point is that T Ts are off-mission, in offense of the rules and embarrassing to those who care about such things. The entire point of this movement is to get rid of it. Purge this awful experiment from the site and move onto bigger and better things.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?
