I don't think we're going to need more than that for it to stabilize, though; it's been sticking between 2.61 and 2.7 for the last few hours.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyNow, taking the mod hat off, I would like to point out that the archived Troper Tales pages and the new format TT pages are two different entries that can be handled different ways.
All of the examples that were quoted a couple of pages
back from What Beautiful Eyes! are from the Archived page The new format page is empty.
The second time someone went through the TT pages looking for ten new format pages with more than five entries to use as his data sample, he had to go through 254 other new format pages before he found ten that had four or more, not the five or more that he was originally looking for.
And he was counting "boring" as a bad entry. The problem with that is that "boring" is subjective as hell.
And finally, (and this could be tricky, so please read it for comprehension); not speaking as a mod, but speaking with experience as a mod, if you're going to put forward that TT should be cut to reduce the mods' workload, for gods' sake don't suggest in the next paragraph that it be sent to the forums instead. A forum thread is a hell of a lot more time consuming to moderate that wiki pages that can be monitored from the Recent edits page.

"My Internet is periodically spazzing out on me [...]" Amusingly, this site has been doing so for me while I was reading, wonder why...
In any case, voted no. I like Troper Tales because there are some interesting stories, and even with the creepy I can ignore it, but more importantly it's organised in a very concise manner: if I browse a trope, there'd be a link to the TT, while there's a page listing all of them. In addition, there are no images and the text is close, so it's simple to read.
This is as opposed to the forum, where there are no (to my knowledge) dedicated threads for a specific trope in case I feel like reading about them and because of the formatting, avatars, etc., reading it is somewhat more difficult.
No need to have discussions about examples because Troper Tales always seemed to me like a "sit in a circle and tell fun stories" place, which is why I always liked it, somewhat more so than the normal trope pages, and why I was somewhat annoyed that the whole overhaul meant another page to go through to see the tales.
...Okay, more like personal reasons to keep Troper Tales, but then the majority also has its opinion, that 80% or 70% or whatever of TT is horrible and must absolutely leave the TV Tropes main site, so...
EDIT- To the above: yeah, boring is subjective; as one person much earlier said, he found two pages clever, immediately followed by a dry "No".
EDIT 2- To the below: I personally have not copied over my few examples specifically because TT was archived, so I didn't bother to have two copies of them. If that was the supposed goal of the overhaul, maybe it should be stated more clearly?

@Maddy: Boring was counted as well but it didn't matter whether I enjoyed it or not it still got a hit in the demonstration/not demonstrating section. I felt it prudent to get an average amount of dull entries since they are not to be placed on the page.
Looking back at the data I feel I should reorganize and paste it so here it goes.
THATGUY'S NOT VERY SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS:
Methodology: I randomly hit TT's looking for tales with 4 or more entries. The reason being that I didn't want to land up hitting ten articles and only getting 12 examples or something and I didn't feel like setting an arbitrary cap and stopping there.
I then graded them on whether they demonstrated the trope in question or did not. I also kept track of how many entries were dull to read and instances of this troper. The reasoning for this being that dull entries are not to appear on the page and it very plainly says not to use this troper, giving us a measurement of how many people disobey/are somehow ignorant of the rules.
FINDINGS:
there were 55 total over ten pages that qualified. I used ten to keep the page number in line with norns # of pages.
Not enough entries to qualify: 254
This troper spotting: 14
Demonstrates the trope: 16
Doesn't demonstrate the trope: 39
Really boring: 20
total 55: so 70% of entries didn't demonstrate the trope, 36% were dull to read. and this troper appeared 25% of the time.
Of the hundreds of TT's I hit I'd say about 40% were empty, with the rest not meeting the minimum threshold for observation.
Conclusions: An improvement over the old system but the reasons for that may be simply that there hasn't been time for it to go either way. I personally think the simple fact that this troper appeared so often is evidence that they just don't care. I would, however, suggest waiting two weeks then having someone (NOT ME!) do a similar walk and compare findings. If the data has not shifted much we can be certain that deletion is the only answer.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? You're kidding, right?
We've had two posters go out of their way, apply the Guidelines and then play the stats game.
We've had this discussion endlessly. We've talked about this for 730+ posts and almost all of the posters have agreed with deleting it. Everybody has chimed their arguments in and have said why TT doesn't work. It has endless examples that don't fit tropes, we've tried to clean it up. We've done almost everything possible to salvage the thing.
Why is it so important to keep it? It doesn't even accomplish its intended purpose and we've tried and tried to make it do it and it doesn't work.
Don't like it? OK, downvote it, but by now, all of the guys on the deletion side have said enough for the burden of proof to fall on the people who want to keep it.

"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.there were 55 total over ten pages. I should probably edit that to be more clear.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? The decision hasn't been made yet, but there is an off-site wiki set up (link is in this thread somewhere) if you feel like copy pasting stuff over.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?^It's been brought up. A namespace specifically for that sort of thing would be the likely solution.

That isn't a bad idea. Atleast they're much more believable overall. I mean, anybody can beat a game, or do a good roll in a game.
It's still ego-thumping, which is the only problem, but it's less pages, and easier to work with.

It wouldn't have to be its own option. We could decide it after this crowner's resolved.
