"H-Hey I already told you I'm not..." Susan started, though the girl's words, once again, gave her pause. Suddenly it all made some horribly macabre sense. Everything that had happened to her... everything she had felt...
Did she lose her rationality and actually fallen in love?
Susan turned to Lae in a slight panic "T-This cannot be! Do fairies have some sort of strange mind control or something?"
Wait. She didn't think that Shanghai was creepy? She had seemed so graceful, so elegant... did she have a weak spot for cute things? Shanghai was winking at her between Nova's arms. What the hell was that puppet thinking?
"O-oh... uh... I'm a puppetmaster... and yeah, it's good to meet you too. I don't really mind the decorations..." She glanced around nervously, like an animal trapped.
Rowi skidded slightly and started walking backwards as he saw Kyrie run up to him. The cute lizard girl who wanted to be a dragon. "Hey there! Dragon girl! Looking good, girl, looks like we got to share a room! The two monsters, the dragon and the kobold, level ten and level none, level lost and level won, big flamethrower and the shotgun, gonna have some great fun..." Rowi's rap trailed off. "In other words, I believe the humans say 'Nice shoes, wanna fuck?'"
He sympathised with the girl. Awhile back Rowi had read some article about kobolds in Dungeons and Dragons, and how they could easily be great sorcerors. Rowi wanted that, and could see similar dreams in thr young lizard.
"I- I uh..." There was that dance again. It was supernatural, almost, in the grace and the effect on the imagination... at least for Alice, anyways. She was kind of numbed, from the shock mostly, but also the dance seemed to have some sort of dumbing effect on the brain. She wondered if this is what men felt on a daily basis when exposed to cute girls. Quite a potent girl, to elicit that response even in her fellow sex. Either that or Alice was buried deep into the closet, but she didn't want to entertain that thought right now.
Shanghai was quite... whatever Shanghai's mental states could be called, as it was dancing and mimicking Nova, with significantly less grace, but quite a good effort given that it had rusty metal ball joints. Alice was positive Shanghai was still alive in some respect now.
Oh great, my own puppet is trolling me. Alice thought to herself with some dread.
"U-uh... thank you... Nova. Can I call you that...?" Alice wasn't actually controlling Shanghai, but she didn't need to know that. She finally exerted her control and forced Shanghai to walk back to her side, awaiting the answer with some apprehension. Had she made the wrong move, using a first name too early?
"215... 215... 215!" Jack thought numbly as he found his dorm room and opened it up. He took a small look inside, sighing softly before he closed the door behind him and flopped down on the bed. It had been a long day, and he hadn't even been to any classes yet. He opened one of the empty drawers as he opened up his backpack, looking around for a beaten-old telescope that he used for astronomy. It had a few chips and dings in it, but was a reliable sight nonetheless. Jack sighed again as he reached into his backpack and pulled out a cig, lighting it up with the plastic lighter as he took a long, slow drag in the quiet of his room.
He looked at his sheet for incoming classes as he pulled the bag of seeds out and carefully planted them in a trowel by the windowsill. "They'd grow up nice, hopefully. Just hope the others... others... eheheh... oootheeers...!" Jack stated, chuckling as he started listening to music while getting mildly stoned.
Pokedy Poke-poke"I-I see..."
There she was, blushing again. Just thinking about the subject made her feel too weird to think coherently. W-Why did this have to happen to her? Sure, he seemed like a nice guy... had been pretty kind to her... His face was... No, no!
Susan stops her thoughts in their tracks. This is too... strange to think about right now "Alright... I'm pretty confused... I need to think of something else"
"Shining Bird...? Dancing Canary...?" Alice began to sense that her new roommate was one of those types who was well at ease with a lot of things. And that was the type that Alice was most used to dealing with... Marisa. That's why. Alice shook her head, began to loosen up a bit and smile a little. "... Cute names..."
Lae giggled. "Fine then. We're going to begin planning the first party of the school year. It is one of the most anticipated and it always happens the night of the first day of school. You will be helping me plan it extensively. Everyone who is anyone will be there, to use a cliche." Lae opened the door to her dorm room. It was already decorated for her.
Nova danced over to Alice and put something around her neck. It was a necklace. "Here you are...I made this for whoever my roommate would have been. It will protect you from evil. It is so nice to meet you, Dancing Canary..."
"Y-yeah... same..." Alice sensed an end coming to their conversation, so she examined the necklace in curiosity. If she had her old power, she could have examined it... but now, she couldn't make any sense of it. She was a novice in the field she had grown up studying. It was a curious feeling. Perhaps now would be a good time to start cracking some books open, ending their conversation on what she hoped was a high note. "Erm... is the library open at this hour?"

Nova perked up and looked down at the puppet, and her eyes trailed up to the string and then to Alice. "Oh my gosh! How did you get it to walk over to me? It's so cute!" She bent down and picked up the Puppet, hugging it close to her chest. "You must be my roommate. It's lovely to meet you. I hope you don't mind the decorations."
Lae smirked at Susan. "Oh come on. It's completely obvious you have a thing for him. I notice these kinds of things like that." She snapped her fingers.
