Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The problem is we don't know much if anything about Inhumans right now so hopefully AOS clarifies this a bit.
She could work as a cameo or a member of the Inhumans team or something, but with barely ten issues under her belt, Kamala doesn't really have enough material to hold down her own solo movie. Besides, her series seems much Denser and Wackier than the MCU, and it doesn't have the excuse of being set in space with bizarre aliens like GOTG. I just don't see cockatiel Thomas Edison working on the big screen.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Well, at least not in a movie that doesn't have Deadpool.
Some Marvel properties just lend themselves to WEIRD SHIT (TM) better than others.
There should be a Deadpool/Squirrel Girl/Kamala Ms. Marvel team-up series.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.
I'm pretty sure a major appeal of the character is being a Muslim with her own series, so I'm not so sure regulating her to comic relief sidekick would be too well-received...
I will support any movie, no matter how silly, that gives Deadpool's wife some screentime.
Shiklah is easily one of Marvel's best new characters.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.If it were up to me I'd probably do the following:
1. Introduce Kamala as a supporting character in Captain Marvel's movie.
2. Have Kamala get exposed to the Terrigen mists in the post credits scene and develop powers. This prompts one of the Inhumans to take her with him.
3. Bring Kamala back as a member of the Inhumans in their movie. Part of the story can be them teaching her how to use her powers. At the end she decides to set off and be her own hero.
4. Give her an animated Netflix series.
5. Have her pop up in future movies as needed.
Hmm, having an animated MCU Netflix series would be interesting. In fact, the CW Arrow/Flash universe is doing an animated Vixen tie-in series, so it wouldn't be unprecedented...
I'd question whether the MCU should ever be anything but live action, but to be fair, there are already a gazillion tie-in comics, and Marvel could use a decent animated show anyways.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Isn't Guardians of the Galaxy getting an animated tie-in?
I think making it animated is the best course of action either way. Kamala's powers would probably work better in animation and it would probably fit better with the general tone of her series. The fact that the art in the comic is already fairly cartoony certainly helps too.
It isn't it's just a show that uses the visual designs from the movie.
And I'd rather Kamala get a movie because while Phase 3 offset it a little I'd rather we not regulate the more diverse properties to TV and cartoons while making sure the biggest piece of their media empire remains more or less monochromatic in its casting.
I don't really think so at all. Hell her most recent story arc had her fighting giant killer robots.
And even if that were a case it's a simple matter of giving her a Big Budget Beef-Up.

LIVING HERE IN JERSEY FIGHTING ROBOTS FROM A BIRD
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo I've been thinking, and I think what I really love is the Thor vs. Iron Man fight. Because even with the "LOL 400 PERCENT SUPER DOOPER CHARGE" horseshit, Thor still has Tony completely outclassed and just effortlessly slaps the shit out of him. And given how much the MCU just jerks off to Tony's goatee, it is SO satisfying to see him just getting his ass undeniably kicked.
My various fanfics.![]()
My favorite moment in that fight is when Stark headbutts Thor, and Thor is briefly taken aback with an expression that says "Scuse me? You think that's a headbutt? No, this is a headbutt" and headbutts him back strongly enough to hurl Stark flying several meters back, crashing through the stones and wood.
Just goes to show the strength difference of the characters.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Not only that, but when Thor headbutts Tony, it dents the helmet. At another point in the fight, when Thor grabs Tony's wrist, he starts CRUMPLING the armor in his hand. It didn't matter that Tony had anti-magic-lightning horseshit just randomly in his armor. Thor was clearly more than capable of beating Tony to death with his fists if he wanted.
My various fanfics. And then Steve Rogers comes in and puts a stop to this bullshit, because that's how Steve Rogers rolls.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI forget, did Steve's shield just bounce off both their heads, or just Tony's head and a tree?
Also, I kinda hate how the MCU's obsession with "no superhero names" makes it subconsciously harder for me to say "Iron Man" than "Tony".
