Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

That. If there's going to be any connection between Dare Devil and The Avengers Age Of Ultron, it would be a Red Skies Crossover at best.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.So, I'm massively late to the party on this, but what's the opinion on the Ant Man trailer?
One Strip! One Strip!![]()
Seems like a pretty standard superhero movie trailer to me. It's just "you've gotta be a superhero, action shots, witty one liner, cut to title card." Not bad, but nothing special.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. The chart doesn't match the actors at all. EVERY character is somehow "taller" than their actor, whether a little or a lot, except for Jeremy Renner, who really is 5'10" - which actually makes him the third-tallest actor among the main cast, after Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans.
Robert Downey Jr is 5 feet, 8 1/2 inches, despite the chart showing Iron Man as the tallest character. Do they have to bring him a box, or do they deal with it with CGI?

RDJ is 5ft, 8 1/2 inches. Chris Evans is taller, at 6' even. This information is brought to you by IMDB.
5'10" is the average height for men, so Renner (and/or Haweye) is not short.
I'm female and 5'10", so being taller than half of the cinematic Avengers - counting Banner as Banner rather than as the Hulk - amuses me. (As do all of the comments on this forum about Adrianne Palicki, who plays Mockingbird in Agents Of Shield and is an inch taller than me, being some kind of giantess.)

I guess so.
I wonder how it will fare after all the kerfuffle (yes, I used that word) with the previous director.

One Strip! One Strip!I'm as tall as RDJ. Wow.
Also, Spash pointed this out on another thread: Ant-Man will be scored by Christophe Beck
. He's an industry veteran, doing everything from composing the songs for Once More With Feeling to composing the background music for a ton of different films, ranging from Percy Jackson, to Garfield, to The Hangover. It's not his first time scoring a superhero movie: he composed the BGM for Elektra and RIPD. It's also not the first he's done under Disney: he scored Paperman and Frozen.
I was thinking something more along the lines of the events of the series picking up after Ultron has been defeated, but before the damage to the city had been fully repaired, and that Kingpin had managed to get his "foot in the door" specifically because of the chaos cased by Ultron.
Since the Daredevil series is going to drop all at once, releasing it prior to Age of Ultron pretty much precludes any crossover.

I hear they have to make him stand on boxes or screw with perspective lest he be shorter than his female co-stars
That would be terrible and lead to the collapse of the union, probably.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWith all of these tv shows starring secondary characters in the MCU, any chance we might get a Marvel spin off film?
I know this is kind of ridiculous, since the Marvel films are already spin offs starring previously Tier B or even Tier D characters but I'd still enjoy a Nick Fury movie.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Do you think the movies will ever give the TV shows Continuity Nods? They'd probably have to be little Easter Eggs, just to avoid Continuity Lock-Out.
EDIT: Why do continuity nod and lock-out both use the same quote? That's just confusing.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.spash, same quotes because someone wasn't paying attention.
Bringing it up in the page quote thread over in the wiki section of the forums.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpIf we can't have Coulson in the movies due to Continuity Lock-Out in regards to Agents Of SHIELD, then why did Sitwell, who debuted in Marvel One Shots, appear in Captain America The Winter Soldier? I mean, I'm pretty sure there were people confused as to who he is since they never watched the One Shots.

Honestly? I'd be surprised if they ever planned to tie into the Age of Ultron. Aside from the fact that they probably don't have an expensive CGI budget to have Daredevil fighting off swarms of killer robots, it doesn't sound like it'd mesh tonally with what they're going for.
They've been kind of adamant that Daredevil if the sort of street level story that hasn't been done in the more fantastic movies so far.
