Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I agree as well.
From having seen only a few episodes of the 90's show...it was pretty cheesy a lot of the time. I think it may be hard to enjoy now that I'm older. Still, I remember watching a few episodes of it as a kid, and liking it.
I also remembering seeing just the first few minutes of an episode of Spectacular Spider-Man, and immediately being intrigued. Never got the chance to watch any more, though. Perhaps I should fix that, but there's the problem of it getting, well, canceled.

Oh God! Natural light!Spiderman The Animated Series was cheesy, certainly, but when it was good it was good. That show still has my favorite version of Norman Osborn outside the comics, and the way it had Spidey interact and cross over with so many mythoses gave the world a universal sense that none of the other adaptations have really pulled off - Ultimate, I feel, goes too far in the opposite direction: SHIELD, the other heroes and the guest starring heroes drive the show so much that it feels more like a general Marvel show starring Spider Man than a Spider Man show with a universe surrounding it.
The Spectacular Spiderman was on the whole the best Spider Man adaptation of the lot. I don't really think there's been an adaptation who got how Peter's life works, how the characters interact, and just the tone that Spider Man works best with more than Weisman's series. The fact that it got cut short just as it was starting to stretch its legs is downright unfortunate.

United They Stand was so weird because it was very clearly an attempt to pull a Follow the Leader on the Power Rangers franchise but for some reason they left out Captain America and Iron Man. Ya know, the two guys who would arguably be the easiest fit for a Power Rangers rip-off.
I think Ant-Man, The Wasp, Hawkeye, and The Falcon were the only Henshin Heroes. The Scarlet Witch, The Vision, and Wonder Man didn't transform.

I noticed that there are weird cat noises whenever she moves. I don't think she's making them with her mouth.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm not very good at recognizing actors. I recognized Paul Rudd from various films and from a stint on Parks And Recreation, but he was the only person. Who was the woman doing some kind of martial arts in the trailer? (Actor name and/or character name) I can't remember any of the other characters, otherwise I would ask about them.
The woman was Evangeline Lilly from Lost and The Hobbit.
She will be playing Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank Pym, Michael Douglas's character.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSomeone asked what the comic side of Marvel would do to tie-in Ultron to the comics to try to get movie people to read them this time and we thus far have an event(Ultron Forever
) and a graphic novel(Rage of Ultron
) about Ultron.
Edit: I want to thank comicwriter for posting about the graphic novel in the MC thread.

No prob.
Also from what I understand Ultron Forever will be more or less self-contained so you don't need a lot of books to figure out what's going on.
Also that's definitely Hope Van Dyne. Lilly is sporting the Wasp haircut in the set photos.[1]

Like Age of Ultron was! And maybe it will suck like Age of Ultron did too.
"Self-contained" and "Event" are mutually exclusive. It's not an Event if it's self-contained. It's a miniseries.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.....Yeah so uh anyway here's the majesty of Iron Man on a motorcycle

The Hulk-Cycle that tops our Thememobile page is also pretty stupid.
