Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Hope becoming the Wasp may be a plot point they want to preserve for some reason.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Can't we just watch the movie first before being all judgemental on it? Perhaps they are holding off on Wasp for a good reason. After all, this movie is about introducing Ant Man into mainstream. I would understand the complains if Wasp had been come first and Ant Man were the off-shot character. But since that isn't the case, I can think of a lot of reasons why there is no word of Wasp yet. Perhaps they don't want to squeeze her in with all the other new stuff and want to hold her off for a different movie, which will allow more room for her.
I love Wasp as much as the next Marvel fan, but with the film's focus on Scott Lang instead of Hank Pym, this really isn't Jan's story.

Thats crazy! Next you'll be telling me they make superheroes based on bats and spiders!
A bat based superhero is crazy.
Ants and spiders and supers are scary but bats are cute little burritos
. Anyone dressing as a bat for intimidation purposes would get laughed out of continuity.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
I think we can all agree supers are the hands-down scariest creatures in the animal kingdom.
I know you're being sarcastic but I do in fact think that's adorable.
What a cute!
Dogs have cutlery like that and nobody ever thinks less of them.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers- Despite taking place in the MCU don't plan on seeing the Avengers anytime soon (I think everyone figured as much).
- They want to explore New York and street level hero work in general, which has so far largely been unexplored in the MCU.
- It will be just as much about the rise of the Kingpin as it is about the rise of Daredevil.
- Daredevil is not literally without fear and the audience will see his inner struggles and demons.
- They reiterate Bullseye will absolutely not be in the first season, because they don't want to rehash the 2003 movie. They do say the door is open for him to debut in future seasons, though.
Ant-Man was his pet project.
Whedon wanted to put Janet in Avengers but the movie was already too busy and/or didn't want to conflict with Ant-Man, dunnae.

While the Avengers themselves obviously won't show up in Daredevil, given that the series is launching right after Age of Ultron I wonder if the immediate aftermath of the movie is going to play into it. Perhaps Kingpin rising to power, as well as any other major problems in Hell's Kitchen, will be tied directly into the chaos surrounding Ultron's attacks in New York.
Blaming the problems of the neighborhood, if very indirectly, on Ultron could be a way around the reality that Hell's Kitchen is a far better place to be nowadays then it was back when Daredevil debuted.
