Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Or, because he hasn't become a spider-totem yet, the Inheritors haven't targeted him (as they are universe-jumpers, not time-travelers), so he's safe because the Inheritors will inevitably lose at the end of Spider-Verse.
Winter Soldier the best blockbuster? Have you seen Cinema Sins video on it, where they show off how overrated and non-sensical it is?
Seriously though, it is a great film that is definitely deserving of that title.

I was starting to appreciate Cinema Sins less and less even before they did Winter Soldier. I think I posted that video and my thoughts on it here, though.

You really need to stop bringing up Cinema Sins, it's a tired and done discussion. (Plus IMO, they pretty much fell off the bandwagon when their videos became too long and they nitpicked everything)
But enough about that, instead I'll sit around waiting for AoS to come back in March while preparing for Agent Carter.

It's just that many elsewhere are applauding them for showing how overrated and damaging to comic book movies the MCU is. That, and they are really proud of themselves for making those videos.
But enough about the nitpickers. Do you guys think that AOU will be able to live up to the standards set by WS and GOTG?
Dude you need to stop bringing up the Cinema Sins video. It's literally the only thing you talk about and it's bordering on obsessive at this point. Some people didn't like the movie. Plenty of others did. It really doesn't matter.
Apparently Tim Roth was almost called back to reprise his role in Age of Ultron
.
The way he talks about it makes it sound not that recent. Possibly back when Norton was still Banner. I'd honestly be surprised if they brought back anyone from The Incredible Hulk. It's on the very edge of Canon Discontinuity with the way the MCU has barely acknowledged it, and its plot threads were quietly wrapped up in other media. Bruce doesn't seem to have made any attempt to return to Betty, now that he and Natasha are apparently a thing.
Widow/Banner is unlikely to be the writers/directors OTP from now on or anything, either. A strong connection has grown between them, which may well be romantic, but it would be odd for that to turn into something outright love-interest-y even if either Banner or Widow were the kind of characters to cultivate a relationship like that (Widow certainly isn't).
Chances are their relationship is going to be a major venue for character development for the two of them within Ultron, but isn't going to be the lasting kind that the solo movies constantly do.

I won'T believe it before I see it. The Vision example is a bad one because as far as we know, Vision will be a new version of Jarvis, not necessarily a totally different character.
Plus, I don't think that Vin Diesel is right for the role. They need an actor who can express a lot purely through body language and expression.
I think Vin Diesel would make a spectacular Black Bolt. I also think it would be a hilarious way of getting around Marvel's "One character per actor" rule by having Vin Diesel's voice play one character and the rest of him play another.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

Okay, so, if the MCU has or had a Spider-Man, then:
or
He's not in that universe due to Spider-Verse.
