Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Not resurrected, reincarnated. They're two totally different guys.
(And also a massive retcon, so.)

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.![]()

Same for me. Nothing about the soundtracks really stands out, although that can be a good quality for a soundtrack: blending into the background so that it supports the action without being something you notice on its own.
But the Marvel soundtracks aren't distinctive like the ones for The Lord Of The Rings, or - to name a comic book film - X Men First Class (which is also by Henry Jackman).

I really liked the Winter Soldier soundtrack, but it didn't go over well critically.
I like the main theme from Thor II

And Deliverance (makes me cry every time)

And I think the latter is very memorable...every time I hear it, I am immediately thinking of Frigga.
The Captain America Soundtrack got bad Critics? That surprises me...I admit, I am a little bit partial, because I really dig the work he did for Disney so far, especially the Wreck-it Ralph Soundtrack, but I really liked it, especially the patriotic undertones (which really shine in "The Smithsonian"). Just hearing the music makes me want to stand bigger.
A thought just occurred to me.
Did anyone think that if Fury survived that first attack in Winter Soldier, the bad guys were going to tell Cap that Fury had gone rogue and tore half of downtown DC apart? Or would that have been overplaying their hand a bit?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great
He didn't buy that Fury turned on SHIELD when Pierce showed him the stuff with Batroc, so I don't think he would buy it in that case either.
...I'm kinda curious if anyone has any interesting theories about how the hell Fury got to Cap's apartment.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Nope. Not listening. The Turtles are now buddies with SHIELD. You'll tell me no until the Turtles show up on Agents of SHIELD and blows your minds.
My various fanfics.

@Wack'd, He died and woke up with another "t" in his name? You are aware that has to be the lamest resurrection ever, right?
@Anomalocaris 20, ... I have no way to respond to that becuase it's just that ridiculous.
